Rill has the Shield Focus feat, which with Elephant in the Room rules, increases her shield's AC bonus by 1, which is further increased to 5 against ranged attacks that aren't spells, natural attacks, or massive.

Then total defense gives her a +4 dodge bonus to AC on top of that.

So against the kobold leader's bow, she has 26 AC, meaning the first attack would've just barely hit and the second missed.

"I am sorry, young one," he sighs as he swings his blade at Carrie's puppeteered body, "You did not deserve any of this."

Carrie seethes at Sveth's seemingly carefree attitude, "Gotta say that, no, I don't feel better that the guy who drugged and kidnapped us also was also stupid enough to trap himself."

Patrissa's motives just fuel her rage further, as she turns to the woman, incredulous, "And you... You sent a man to his death just so you could have some gaudy baubles draped around your neck?!"

Carrie rubs her forehead and begins taking deep breaths to calm herself. When Zinli brings up who could possibly have wanted Mord dead, she replies, "I mean, it was that Alastir Wade guy who wanted Mord dead, right? He was the one goin' around bribin' and threatenin' everyone, includin' the judge."

Carrie sighs in frustration, clenching her fists as the impostor posing as Killian reveals himself. She takes up a threatening stance, barely keeping herself from decking the man.

"You're why we're all trapped in this run-down courthouse full of ghosts and zombies?!" she snipes at Sveth, "Some of us didn't even have anythin' to do with that trial! And you knew that!"

"Yeah, it sucks that Mord got wrongfully convicted, but you can't just stick us all in a death trap! Get us outta here, now!"

She tries to intimidate the man, but between her fear and her lack of stature, she fails miserably.

A young Tian girl, just barely past the age of adulthood sits in one of the chairs, dressed in a sky blue tunic and knee-length skirt. Her long, straight hair is dyed a rose pink, yet kept unkempt as though she rarely brushes it.

Twitching and awakening into a groggy stupor in reaction to her weird dream, she lifts her head, rubbing her tired eyes and seemingly not reacting to her new surroundings. She cracks her knuckles, scratches her head, and finally stretches her arms with a yawn, accidentally brushing a hand up against one of the many, many cobwebs plastered throughout the room.

Carrie jolts into greater awareness as she feels the dust-covered strands of silk coat her fingers. With a guttural vocalization of disgust, she vigorously shakes her hand in a futile attempt to remove the webs, before scraping them off onto the leg of her chair.

She takes a moment to clear her vision and scan the room, the eerie locale and this menagerie of folk seemingly in the same situation she's in. This most definitely was not her room. Nor could this have been another prank from her older sister; there's no way she would've went out of her way to change her out of her pajamas and into her normal attire, and absolutely no way she'd somehow manage to convince this many other people to be part of it.

Carrie shakes her head in both disbelief and to free herself from the last remnants of sleep. Unlike the odd dream she had earlier, it seemed like this was the real deal. A sense of panic began to build within her.

"The hell?" she mutters to herself in confusion, "Who're you all?"

"And what is this place?"

SPECIAL ABILITIES
Change Shape (Su): A kitsune can assume the form of a human. While in human form, the kitsune gains a +10 racial bonus on Disguise checks made to appear human. Changing shape is a standard action.
Agile (Ex): Kitsune gain a +2 racial bonus to Acrobatics checks.
Kitsune Magic (Ex/Sp): Kitsune add 1 to the DCs of saving throws to resist enchantment spells they cast. A kitsune with 11 or more Charisma can cast Dancing Lights thrice per day as a spell-like ability.

Brawler's Cunning (Ex): If a Brawler's Intelligence score is lower than 13, it counts as 13 for the purposes of qualifying for feats.

Intake Notes: Patient was brought in covered in lacerations and bruises consistent with combat. She did not carry weapons, but abrasions on the knuckles suggest skill in unarmed combat. Personnel should take caution while tending to her. Upon awakening, she was overcome shock and panic at the unfamiliar surroundings she found herself in, aggressively lashing out verbally and going on the defensive.

Behavioral Evaluation: Patient projects a facade of confidence and bravery to hide deep-seated self-esteem issues. As a result, she is prone to reckless behavior and acting without proper consideration. She notably has a strong sense of heroism and justice, and lashes out when exposed to injust situations. Current theory is that she was the target of bullying at some point in the past.

Patient is incredibly energetic, impatient, and instilled with a sense of wanderlust. She easily succumbs to boredom and requires frequent stimuli, but once focused on an activity however, she tends to indulge in that activity to the point of ignoring her bodily needs. Patient has repeatedly needed to be reminded to eat. Strangely, this "hyperfixation" also applies to her sleep schedule, resting for extended periods of time and only awakening when hunger pangs or a full bladder prove too uncomfortable, or on semi-rare occasions, after experiencing nightmares.

Phobias: The patient displays extreme revulsion toward insects, spiders, and other vermin. She refuses to approach or touch the creatures even to crush or otherwise dispose of them. It is unclear if this stems from past trauma or is simply a childish irrational fear.

Seoli brings up the rear, her eyes darting around, checking the walls, the ceiling, and even behind them, just in case Karina was correct and the wizard could summon or teleport things behind the group.

"I haven't really been in town that long, but a couple of days ago I accidentally broke a vase while trainin' in my inn room. When I told the innkeeper what had happened, she started lecturin' me about how 'some hermit goes around kidnappin' troublesome children'," she recalls her experience, shifting to a mocking tone as she paraphrases her scolding, "Dunno if it's related, but it stuck out to me."

"I am not a child..." she pouts and crosses her arms indignantly.

As the group approaches the fork in the road, she peers down both paths, "So, which way do we go now?" Before turning her attention to the wooden statuette in the cubby hole, "and what the heck is that bug-headed thing?!"
