Storm Adder's page

Storm Adder is content to bathe in the glow of attention in Goka, for a time. From Hao Jin's treasury, he chooses a great jeweled sword with mysterious powers. He renames the blade The Tongue of Diomazul and carries it on his adventures ever after.

Speaking of which, whispers from the blade drove him out across the multiverse, where he became a great collector of weapons. Eventually, he founded his own demiplane of treasures, known as the Eternal Armory.

Upon retirement, the kholo split his time between the sumptuous apartments at the imperial palace and the fine accommodations of his own dwelling, where it was rumored that worthy challengers could claim a legendary weapon of their own.

Storm Adder does as instructed, pumping his fists in the air as his fur still crackles with electricity and smolders with flame.

"Champions!"

Stormy manages a rough landing on the deck of the Solar Jian II, "Yoh, you scoundrel! May the Shizuru and all her court bless you and this crazy boat!"

Looking out at the horizon, he shields his eyes, "Ah! Hao Jin returns. That bitter pretender couldn't keep her locked up for long."

"Stick together! We'll come back through!" Storm Adder reaches out toward Laz and Khorash.

Storm Adder heals Laz once again. Sparks of lightning run down his arms and over his sword, and he swings at the monstrosity.

While meditating, I'm going to retrain one of my signature spells to Harm, so I can help keep Khorash up a bit better.

"I bet they were bespelled. They weren't acting normal," observes Storm Adder. "Or at least, what passes for normal."

"By Diomazul's scales!" Storm Adder lets out an unearthly shout, then moves in to slash at the injured creature.

Storm Adder yanks the wings back into place. "Come on! We can outrun them!"

Stormy gathers the power of his curse to blow away some of the clouds.

Stormy calls upon the power of his newly-invested third eye to attempt to plot a course through the demiplane.

But the magic eludes him, distracted as he is by the power of the tempest around them.

I'm good with taking the necklace of fireballs, and I'll take the third eye if no one wants it.

Storm Adder is more elated than tired by the ritual, and the oracle knows about sacrificing for power. He gives of his talents and health to empower the summoning.

I'll do Greatest Ability and Health and Body. I wouldn't mind doing Dearest One also, but Stormy is sort of a loner, so I haven't thought much about whom that would be.

Storm Adder prepares for the ritual with moments of meditation. He asks the monks to help him trim a ritual symbol onto his chest, saving the hair for an offering to the celestial dragon. He circles the area for the summoning, making sure the area is level, with nothing to trip him up as he dances. He sprinkles a few drops of wine on the ground and claps to gain the attention of the spirits.

Accepting the cypress branch from the monks, the gnoll salutes the sacred directions. Ears pop around the ritual area, and Storm Adder feels the familiar sensation of his fur standing on end.

He plucks one leaf from the branch and places it under his tongue, breathing deeply the scent and taste of the wood as the branch shifts in his hand. He waves the fan-shaped branch, and gusts of wind snap across the mountain peak.

In the rippling wind, the branch shifts again, sprouting tolling bells that peal with a volume unmatched to their small size. The skies darken as the gnoll processes around the dais with the bells.

Finally, the bell illuminate, then rise to the sky, swirling above the lake, whirling into an immense glowing gate over the choppy water.

"Yes, those creatures were very irritating." Storm Adder grunts. "They paid for their attempts to interfere with my magic."

Storm Adder patches up himself an Laz with special poultices. "Stop that, you nuisance."

He slices at the creature from next to the monk.
