Steph is quietly sipping her coffee, and making mental notes to find some for the ship stores.

She takes another sip. "Staying away for only a year seems reasonable. Would we have time to resupply, refuel, and perhaps pick up some rumors before our time in your lovely sector is up?"

Steph is wearing her officer's uniform which is neatly pressed and clean, and her Sindalin officer's pistol. She wants to look respectful of the Admiral.

"Met an interesting fellow at a bar. He has a line on an empty ship. Could be our the first of the fleet if we can swing his fee for the information." She tells the officers before they leave for the meeting.

Steph finishes her food and drinks, lays down enough credits for twice that, and stands. "I'll let my Captain know. I'll get back to you on what he says. It's been a pleasure to meet such a fine business person."

She turns and heads back to the ship.

Steph leans in. "Tell me about this ship? That sounds so interesting. I'll take what you can give me to my Captain to see what he thinks about what we can offer. You got something you're looking for? Always best to take an opening offer to him."

Steph smiles "My Captain likes me well enough already. I wouldn't mind a freelance job. What I really need a well paying job for my crew. They get bored if we don't see action, and they haven't seen any for a while. Point me in the right direction?

I have not been hit by a bus, but it feels like it. Work buried me this week. I'll try to get posts up tomorrow.

"I'll take the food. It sounds wonderful. I know how to farm. That's a skill I learned as a young woman before I left planet side. I can't stay for long. I've got other obligations or I'd think about joining your herd. Might be interesting. Speaking of obligations. Heard any good leads on some work for a girl like me? I know you hear all the good stuff." She gives Tuk a wink.

Step takes the indicated seat, and orders whatever passes for whisky in this place.

"You want a story? I'm fast with the blaster, but I'm better with my big gun. Had to leave that on the ship. I don't want to die on this planet you know." She takes a sip and settles in. "I'm got retired with an injury from the Scout Corps. Thought I'd see how being a privateer worked out. So far it's so so. I'm not good at it yet. Too honest I guess." She grins. "Now let me tell you what happened with this pistol the last time I had to use it."

She taps her empty glass, and the begins. "We got some cargo to deliver. Turns out the cargo was really valuable and alive, and we had to keep him that way. As we were escorting him to where the drop off location was, we were ambushed on a bridge. None of my team were close together, and the bad guys took advantage. I dove next to a wall and began shooting. I hit one, and kept fire on a few more. Turns out we were better than they were, and no one died on our side." She sips the new drink. "Had to get off that station quick though. Security wasn't happy with us. I guess that shows me I'm good in a pinch, but finding cargo that fell out of a spaceship to make a profit?" she shrugs, "not so much. What about you? Why are you slinging drinks for a bunch of races you hate?"

Steph heads to 'Tuks' for a drink with the crew. "This place is unexpected. I wonder if we can find our friend's friend here?" She's sitting with her back to the wall watching the deals going on in the bar.

Steph contacts the Station Master, and asks for recommendations on where to find entertainment for the crew while on board ship, and where she can find a place to restock their provisions.

Steph holds their course steady, and grins at the name Jerry chose. "Byron can you get us a course for Theev? Just in we need a back up plan. I don't not want my ship shot up if we can avoid it." She pats the edge of her station with affection.

Byron when you get those coordinates let me know, and I'll head us in the direction of Noricum or a gas giant near it." Steph says.

Steph laughs. "Doctor you can match me for fire power. I have a man portable heavy weapon I can drag around if we ever need it. Haven't used it yet, but I have it."

Steph takes the brandy and leans over. "I'm married. To a very nice planet side farmer who ignores me for the most part." She takes a sip, and passes it back.

Steph laughs at Siete's mention of being a bad guy. "Good. You Byron and Ray, who is sick, are the best bad guys we have."

Steph turns to the Squire with a smile. "Follow me. I'll show you our medical bay and introduce you to our other doctor." On the way down the hallways she answers his other questions. "My name is Stephanie Allison, but everyone calls me Steph. Much easier to yell in a "situation". I am second in command, for what it's worth. I make sure there's supplies, and entertainment aboard the ship for the crew. The officer team is more of a democracy than a military chain of command. We have our mission, and we decide together how to best follow it." She gives a short tour as they continue to walk.

"Here we are." She opens the door to the medical bay. "Please put your things inside, and we'll head to the officer mess for the dinner meeting."

Steph gives Jerry a look waiting for him to give permission for her to assign berths.

Steph enters the bay with her ever attached computer. "I'm Steph your pilot and defacto Quarter Master. Nice to meet you all. This ship is more special than she looks. We like to keep her dressed on the down low, and don't often let people know how fast she can fly. She does need some upgrades and repairs. We'll get the credits for that one of these days."

She looks at the three new crew with interest. "I don't suppose any of you actually know how to be pirates do you? We're terrible at pirating, and thinking about the logistics of having a pirate fleet is keeping me up at night."

She grins her face lighting up and her glasses sparkling. "Ray and Byron are good at fighting. If they were in charge, everything would end in a fight. Me I'd try to talk my way through it. The Captain is a good leader, and Daneel is our current mechanic, and she keeps this ship together."

Steph looks at her screen and studies Krrsh for a long while. Into the com she says, "He is an actual pirate, and trying to save his skin. He might prove to be helpful to us. We don't know how to get into Theev. We might need his information one of these days. Ask him what his skills are beside being a pirate?"

Steph hits her navigator station and plots a course for the Increase. "Sal we're on our way. Enjoy the show." She tunes her screen into the interrogation.

Jerry hears in his hear, and Steph communicates with him. "We need to know EVERYTHING abut the pirate, but a secret would be a good start." She's entering the data to do searches for any names that are named and other pertinent information.

Steph looks around the station. "If that thing really is dead, let's take a look around. I'd say Sal won't be here for a while yet."

Steph takes some time to examine the room the chamax was in.

Steph takes the time to aim her pistol again and fires. Byron you good? Maybe you should get out of there."

Steph comes running up sealing her Vacc suit. "Sorry bad food last night. Thanks for bringing us in safely Byron."

"One life sign? I wonder if it's our captain, and if his crew dumped him off here to die?" She has a weapon out just in case.

"Let's go in under cover." Josephine sets the course, and waits to be contacted by the planet when they arrive.

"Sounds like a lovely place. I wonder if we mention we work for the King if they would be more or less interested in speaking with us. They were subjects at one time." She thinks. "On second thought we don't want them trying to take our ship for some old treaty or something. Let's try not to land unless we must."

Steph heads to Downport to talk to the scrap trader. She locates his business and looks around quickly as she approaches.

"Hello" she calls out. "My name's Steph, and I'm investigating a ship. I understand you had some business with Captain Krrsh. Did he happen to mention where he was headed after this stop? Any idea where he found the scrap he sold you? I'm trying to determine if he was a ship involved in the piracy on Clark." She grins. "You of course are an upstanding business man, and would have accepted the scrap in good faith. I'm not wanting to make waves for you at all. Just need information."

"Makes perfect sense to me. We have to keep an eye on our crew." Steph grins and prepares to go to Downport.

"Did we find out what they took from the chemical factory? I can assume some sort of chemical, but what kind specifically. It might help us know what they are going to do."

"Too bad we're just one ship. It would be amazing to be able to swoop in and take the pirates home port and his flee. Taking out 'Admiral’ Darokyn would be a real boon for Drinax, and having those ships working for us would be a boon for us and Drinax's coffers."

Steph makes arrangements to travel to Downport.

"Captain the marines are bored. Can we give them shore leave here? It would help with morale."

Steph stands quietly as they gents try to get more information out of the Keeper. She almost wishes Ray was here so she could share a look that says. "You can find that information at the Relic-quarry. This person was going to give them nothing additional.

"Thank you Keeper." She gives him a brisk nod, and turns to Jerry "Captain, I believe we can find any information we need at the Relic Quarry. We've taken up enough of the Keeper's precious time."

Steph gets the ship fueled up and takes her rotation. She gets something different to eat than can be found on the ship, and keeps an ear out for anything interesting.

Not having the skills to Carouse with the locals, she heads back to the ship quickly. She prepares the ship to depart when the leave rotations are complete.

While she's at her station she watches the video over and over trying to see how "real" pirates handled the attack. She's impressed at how they used the lasers to remove the storage facility from the factory.

Be nice if we can get ahold of a couple more ships. Especially one with bigger cargo capacity. She makes a note on her data pad about what we might look for in a second ship of the fleet, and laughs to herself that they might someday have a pirate fleet.

"Are we going to try to be fancy diplomats and make some deals for Drinax or just get the lay of the land? If we're just trying to get the lay of the land then I suggest we keep the King out of it."

Steph turns to the communications array. "Blue. I'm afraid we don't have mail for you, but we'd be willing to bring mail or freight to Clark. That's on our route. We're also interested in some down time, and a fuel top up. Which bay can we have for say two days?"

Steph makes arrangements to get the drums loaded on the ship, and to load up on fresh food for the crew. "I can't wait to have fresh veg with dinner." she grins.

As the ship is in space for the week. Steph spends time with the crew on their down time.

She sets up a type of chess board and plays with the doctor in the evenings. "I was going to be a doctor, but I couldn't make it through the medical training. Not enough intelligence. I ended up as a pilot instead. At least I made it off of my home planet. Lot's of people don't or don't want to." She bites down on a veggie snack as they play.

"I miss fresh food from living on a agricultural planet. I'm an amazing gardener. We should try to get a small hydroponics lab set up. I wonder if Ray will let me use her room. Fresh veggies and fruits all the time." she smiles and moves a piece on the board.

Steph arrives back on the ship with her spoils. "New games for everyone, and some of the latest holovids. No Trokh operas. Thank goodnes."

She lets the bridge team know that the raiders are Theevans. Raiders hide there in forgotten cities."[/b]

On her shore leave Steph spends time trying to get some better rations for the crew. She's looking for more games for the crew lounge. She also spends time asking around about the raiders, and their hostages.

She turns to her datapad. "I'll make sure the rotations are as you say, sir." She salutes, and then waves him off as she goes back to looking for information on the pirates they are headed after next.

Steph goes with him. At his question she wants to put her head in her hand, but refrains. "Of course. She may not be privy to our full mission. That's not what I was referring to. She's interested in you. I'm sure of it. She would love to get to know you. Why don't you spend time with her and see what happens."

She decides to confide in Jerry a bit. "I got stuck with my husband. He's not a bad sort, but I didn't get a choice in the matter. Don't feel bad for me, we get along well enough. I would have loved to have been given a chance to find out what I wanted in a partner by seeing people before I was attached. Take the chance. If we head down the path we're following we could be blown up or arrested."

Of course if you aren't interested in going down this path. We can just fast forward to heading out in search of the pirates to get things moving again.
