About Stella Hofflepride
The Haughtpride clan has, for centuries, dabbled in dark arts and rubbed elbows with sinister entities. Therefore, when Serge Haughtpride allowed his wife, Sinestra, to conceive a child with an unearthly fiend, no one was particularly surprised. It was as the result of this conception (a blonde tiefling girl) began to interact with the world around her that things got surprising: she was a delightful child full of fascination, positivity, and curiosity. Despite her tell-tale horns and tail and the wasting condition of her body, young Stella had no idea she was a fear-inducing monstrosity. With her fiendish lineage, Stella had a natural knack for necromancy, but none of the evil intent that generally accompanies such a skill. Her other skills included making toys out of bits of rags and discarded items. This did not delight her parents. The continued efforts of Serge and Sinestra to impart more of a sinister inclination to young Stella was only met with giggles and then the young blonde skipping happily away hand-in-hand with her tattered doll, Poppet (whom she still insists is her very bestest friend).
Eventually, they gave up on turning Stella evil and determined that a new heir was necessary. On their second attempt, the Haughtprides had the monstrous child they wanted: a son named Sigard. Stella, on the other hand, was raised from that point on in a separate building on the Haughtppride estate by family servants. As Stella came of age, the Haughtprides used family connections with the Cheliax branch, and she was sent off to join the Pathfinder Society under the assumed name of Hoffleproud. Poppet, of course, came side by side for her adventures.
