Working on the backstory of half-orc ranger Ursula, active abolitionist looking for a way to fund a big action. 6 is gonna hurt though.

That’s a great character idea!

I’ll be totally candid and say that I’m a bit wary of brand new players as a GM, as in my experience I’ve seen quite a few of them disappear from games. If you can be sure you’re around for the long haul, by all means submit a character!

Fair enough, being candid is appreciated. I'll submit a full character by Monday and see where it gets me. If you would allow me to play a familiar or another less important role than a PC, I would be open to that as well. Might be a good test for me to see how things roll here, and for you a way to see what kind of player I am (and if I stick around).

Quite new here, joined the forums after they told me PBP RPG were still alive here. I would be interested to join this campaign, are new players welcome?

For my character submission and background, it would be good to have a pointer on how to be introduced to the party. I'm guessing that being part of said mercantile syndicate is the most logic entrance point, correct?

I read in the world guide that you linked, that there are still quite some countries with slavery. Now, as this is historically a time when abolitionism was a thing, I was thinking to make that the main theme of my character. A smuggler (ranger) being involved in an abolitionist group, saving slaves from Belkzen and bringing them to Varisia for example. Is this an idea I can work on?
