At the sound of the activity, Spiro shakes the cobwebs of sleep from his tousled head, throws off his blanket and rushes from the common room where he had made his rest. When he sees what is going down he rushes into the fray. "Stop! Stop! This is just wrong. I saw what Ping saw as well. If the Lady is in danger, we need our wits about it to find her". Charisma Check (Empathy) He then tries to wrestle Haldelar's hands from choking out Andren. STR Check?
Spiro leans back in his chair, pushes back his chair, and loosens his belt a notch. "Hopefully there's food left for you guys. I ate more than ever! Hopefully you had a successful shopping trip".
"Well there's always room for a little more. Who knows when you'll get the chance to fill your belly again". "Hi Ping. It's surprisingly delicious for such a small town. I recommend the eel". He then carves a sliver off the table and begins picking remnants of his feast from his teeth. "I trust your shopping trip was fruitful"?
Sure. Where is this "Loot" sheet? Can we add a link to it to Campaign or somewhere, so I don't have to go searching for it? :-)
Spiro is glad he ordered a double helping of eel. "Ah! My appreciation your eel is magnificent, and your ale is cold. I don't suppose you have anything to sate my sweet tooth do you"?
Spiro sits down his ale and begins to hand-roll some stinking mixture of forest herbs into a rough cigarette. "Well now. That is interesting if the compensation is fair. I can't decide for the others, but I think after we finish our current charge that might be of interest. Hopefully they'll gather here soon".
"Well now. A lot of things. Currently we're serving as escort and bodyguard to a charge... but I've been known to scout, hunt, and mostly adventure".
Trade Show this week. I'll be AFK till Thursday at the earliest.
"Well if you don't have Pickled Lamprey... that's my favorite... I guess the Jelled Eel will do. Serve me up a double helping". Then to Elyan "I don't think they're unfriendly... just curious. The fair folk are not common occurrences in any small village in the Empire. I guess it'd be kind of like a Cyclops dropping into one of your establishments and ordering a glass of Ice-wine". He then raises his glass to toast Elyan when his ale arrives. "To not appearing as you are and not being as you appear".

"Well I've yet to sample the wine, but the ale is passable". He offers a sip of his to Elyan wiping the rim first. As Andren explains the rates for the rooms he resumes his conversation with Elyan. "I don't know about you, but I'd be willing to share walls and fine break fast with someone I know for only two additional silver per night. Are you in"? He frowns at the old man in the corner. Isn't it past his bedtime.
Spiro looks around the room noticing that others don't seem to be too curious about his appearance. Oh. That kind of town is it. Spiro stretches and yawns. "I'm thinking a room would be nice, but have no need for your best. A soft mat beneath the stairs suits me fine. As far as slaking my thirst and filling my belly... Hells yes". Spiro looks for a good place to sit where he can keep an eye on the door. "I'll most likely have some friends joining me later as well".
Spiro just has a hearty meal at the Barron, before stepping outside and finding a stump to sit on and oil his new longbow and wax the string. He also checks each arrow to make sure there is no loose fletching or warpage in the shafts. He also takes the time to check the edges of the heads for sharpness and does any needed upkeep. He then patiently waits for any of his new friends to make there way to the tavern for dinner and drinks.
Having decided he is done with prisoners and slavers and all the aftermath of a successful encounter, Spiro heads towards the Baron of Mutton. To wash the dust from his mouth. "So I reckon we can meet up at the Barron later"?
"Well Baron of Mutton it is. Any discount for knowing the locals"?
Spiro will make sure that there are no issues at Jenneleth's place before finding somewhere to have an ale to wash the road dust from his mouth and secure a bed for the night.
Spiro claimed the expert scimitar, (1) Longbow, and (10) arrows in the loot table. Not sure how to get it to transfer to the "Claimed" sheet. Also... Is the expert scimitar +1 to hit or damage?
"Does anyone have any rope? It might be wise to tie each off as they try to cross. I'll be glad to hold the rope on this end then go last. After that you guys can hold on the far end for my crossing".
Never one for leaving foes alive to extract revenge, Spiro busies himself with trying out the longbows and finally picks one which though not fine is at least familiar to him. He unstrings his shortbow, and finds a niche for it on the mule.
As some of his companions speak in a language, he doesn't understand he raises an eyebrow and peers at the lady Jenneleth. Hmm. These people have proven trustworthy so far. Wonder why they speak in secrets. "Best be on our way before fortunes turn again". He finds a convenient moment to get close to the prisoners.

"Fortune smiles on you this day... but the leash is short. One false move you'll enjoy bleeding out on the ground". He then smiles and slaps the man on the back.
Seeing that the battle is won Spiro begins the process of dragging the bodies out of the woods for proper burial. He does check for any particularly fine arrows or weapons before doing so.
Spiro takes a quick look back to make sure that the others have the remaining combatant under control before moving on to the next supposed corpse.
"If you've got this handled, I'll make sure the archers are down for good". Spiro moves to begin checking on the downed archers to make sure they're really dead... and that there are no more.
"Treachery! Treachery"! Spiro tries to finish off his former... now bleeding target. Bow
And the arrow strikes true again though a low hanging branch sapped it of much of its momentum.
Spiro walking near the front of the party is content to let the others carry the conversation while he keeps a close eye on the guards to see if they are being completely upfront. (Or staying back with the animals depending on which direction we're travelling.) CHA (With Empathy) Check to sense anything amiss in their behavior. Once they make their way past he is as surprised by any when the arrows come flying out of the brush. Even though he doesn't have a clear view of the archers he figures taking a show won't hurt anything and if anything might at least distract them a bit. Shortbow
Then moves to take partial cover behind the nearby boulder.
"Indeed. Let's be on our way". Spiro leads the way setting an impressive pace... till he realizes that there are those among them with shorter strides.
Spiro wakes up eager to head towards their destination. He warmly greets all including their new additions. "I feel good about today".
Spiro watches the encounter with a bemused expression. Boy. I'm glad my elven blood is not so obvious. "Have a seat stranger. You'll have to forgive our suspicion as we have had several more... well... less than friendly encounters this day. Tell us more about yourself and let's see if we can build mutual trust".
Spiro lamenting the unavailability of his favored pickled lamprey none-the-less makes do with the offered stew and bread. He rolls his eyes at the rejoined Bard's song but found himself tapping his feet along with the melody. He strains to make sense of the dwarf's speech, but finds if he listens really closely, he can make out what he means if not what he's saying. He stifles a yawn as he rises to his feet. "I'm thinking a copper for a warm spot in the common room will suffice for me, and...". he tapers off his speech as a new introduction is obviously imminent.

No problems. I'm enjoying keeping up with the game. I get as much enjoyment watching other characters and relationships develop as actually playing. I'll jump in when appropriate.
Spiro takes in everything the rustic dwarf has to say then quizzically turns to him. "Could you perhaps repeat what you just said in common"?
