The bird flicks his wings in what passes for a shrug. "Nothing of note. Though when the captain mentioned his need for financing, I would have mentioned the banker you met. Though since he sends his child to Aldinngenga's school, I'm certain you'll meet again."

"I do my part," replies Hyggiandi.

The raven allows a hint of pride to ripple though his feathers, though without lips with which to smile the other party members have only his words to go on.

The raven turns to Syper. "So what was in that note that has you so concerned? You've been acting quite reserved ever since you opened it."

Okoteck's familiar flutters his wings and breaks the silence unexpectedly before the others can reply. "We know that in order to weaken the shadow we need a bottle of sunlight from Irila, who needs a special lens made in order to perform the necessary ritual to create the item. The ritual must occur on Midsummer Day, about three weeks from now. She suggested that the best place to find a glassblower would be somewhere in Oxbane Keep, and has a bag of coin waiting for us in Fiskurvellir with which to pay the glassblower."

He flits from one talon to the other before continuing.

"Penga's shadow emerges on the fifth night of each week to preach to an undead congregation, so he won't be alone. He will also be incorporeal, and will need to be bathed in magical light for attacks against him to do much damage. Seems like quite the bother to kill, for a dead fellow."

Okoteck's familiar hops from one foot to the next on the magus's shoulder. "We'd also like an audience with anyone who knew the old abbot of Nortkirche Abbey," he says, surprising even himself.

"That's rather minty, isn't it?" he says, nonplussed by the sensation.

Add know the way to your familiar. Nirri asks no payment for the wax.

"Hm. You don't say," Hyggiandi replies, concentrating intently on the staccato squeaks.

As Okoteck finishes his work and turns to Hyggiandi, the white raven ruffles his feathers uncomfortably.

"To teach me a spell, you must have it written on a piece of parchment, which you then burn, mixing the ashes with water to form a poultice." He shudders. "Then I drink it."

Okoteck Tomu wrote:

"Let's be organized about this. Our ultimate goal is, most likely, to get to the bottom of the actions of the angakkuk, which may well be related to the disappearance of the virloga. To do that," he nods towards Irila, "We must strengthen our connection with the spirits enough to be able to face the tuunbaq, yes? And the spirits have asked us to banish this shadow, likely both because it needs to be done and because its geistsäure can be used to further strengthen our connection."

"To accomplish this, we need this liquid light, which requires acquiring both volcanic borax for the lens--and the lens itself, once we have that component--and phosphor for the contents. We shall need to ask any miners, blacksmiths, or glassblowers in the Keep about how to acquire these components, as well as needing at least the help of a glassblower for the lens. We may additionally wish to speak with the priests of Morghast about the situation."

"In addition, Jade would like to investigate the coast to the north for the wreck of the Stormweaver and any survivors thereof. I would like to find more information on the fate of the virloga, though I'm not quite certain how. Perhaps there are those who knew of their habits we could speak with? I also feel it would be best to think of ways to interfere with whatever the Tuluruq are doing, but I will admit to not having any ideas as to what we could do."

He pauses a moment, writing furiously to catch up with his thoughts, then continues, "There is also the matter of the naiad Naïssala and her captors." He looks up at Irila again. "When we arrived to hunt Whitefang, she was trapped in an iron cage in the remains of a hunters' camp. Apparently the hunters had come prepared and captured her, only to be slain by the bear. Given Naïssala seemed to have some possible connection to the grimstalker Athanas they may have simply seen her as a threat, but I cannot help but feel there is more to it."

He looks around at his companions, Hyggiandi, and Irila. "Did I miss anything?"

Previous scene

There is a brief pause, then the white raven speaks.

"Smart bugger, that one."

The white raven caws and shuffles from talon to talon.

"I haven't the foggiest. I'm simply quite thrilled that someone is finally paying attention to me on occasion, and not because they want to eat part of my liver."
