A bit muffled but Locke can hear, "Enter!" Once he walks in there is a large office with maps on the walls, it seems more of a tactical room than office. He waves Matthew over asking, "Would you like a scotch?" After Matthew has a seat and asks about arrangements he offers, "I have several options. Cayden has an estate to the North of town, that would have the most room for your family. I have a network of safe rooms under the temple, the main doors only open once per day. The last option is arrange for you to buy a house in town. Sure you could easily stay at another inn but I can't vouch for the level of security." --- He offers, "Excellent. I will arrange a carriage to take you out there in about an hour, go exercise and they will call when it is ready. Oh alright so about 4 maybe 5." The horse, carriage, and driver await their riders.
Round 7 He looks over at Zaidel and then the measly threats that are left and quickly says, "Oh I am sure she is around somewhere. Invisible of course. I can only use the spell vanish and a few other 1st level spells, detect magic helps so much when finding traps! Hold on a second." With that said he walks down towards Matthew and holds one of his daggers as if he is ready to throw it. Round 8 He nods at Matthews words, quietly saying, "Yup you got this, let me see what I can dig up!" He moves back past Zaidel and double moves south after the gnolls that escaped. Round 9-15 He comes upon the pugwampis first and tries to knock it out with his sap. Once that is done he ties up the creature and continues down the tunnel. Soon finding the gnolls and killing them as the tick goes up from "2nd Objective: Kill 10 gnolls: Completed 9/10 to 11/10" after his kills. He continues down the tunnel looking for more things to kill.
He pulls from his stupor and offers, "I could likely arrange rooms for your group." Counting he says, "2, 4, 6, 8, yes I believe we have 6 rooms that are vacant. Don't worry about payment you will each get a tab. So who wants one of the best rooms we have, 2 gp a night. I have two available. Cayden the top floor is all yours. Otherwise moderate rooms at 1 sp a night."
Applicants: He nods and explains, "We are in a pocket dimension made by Cayden himself. A testing chamber as it were. Yes I have mild control over it. You should have a good six hours to finish it when you get out."
Cayden Cailean's Familia:
He bursts out laughing, once he recovers he lays it out for you, "You got me miss. The dwarves would be furious if you even asked about Elven wine in their establishment. Willer is also the name of their head beer crafter, so just throwing a bit of salt into their faces at the same time. I wanted to see how your group handles yourself against dwarves in a bar fight." He exclaims in response to Zaidel, "Oh! Now starting with the relic would have helped your case, let me see it. I will have my sorcerer take a look at it. Aurora at the bar. But as it sounds like you are serious just follow me and the test shall begin." We walks backwards a few steps before turning around and leading those who want to join to the stairs that lead down. At the bottom he taps a few bricks and they move to the side forming a doorway that was not there a few seconds ago. You see a corridor lit with torches beyond the doorway. You can see the straw and common room for the commoners who need to sleep off their drunkenness. He motions and says, "In you go, I will be right behind you." As you go in you feel magic pulse over you and then the lights go out. The lights come back on and you are by yourself. Spoiler time!
He takes Zaidel's hand and gives it a hefty shake. Then he says, "Just Spade, or Spade of Steel, or Captain Steel as most of my Familia members call me. Your first task is to go to the Dwarven tavern of The Iron Forge and get a Willer's Elven wine. If you are serious about joining. Bring that back and then you only have two more tasks. Then again we could skip the tasks and trials and go straight to the final test. A simple test of faith?"
Several minutes after the runner leaves the page returns with a scraggly fellow in fine green livery, a golden circlet resting on his head, there are other golden and bronze pieces, an amulet, several bangling bracelets on each wrist and a ring on every other finger. The rings are a diverse set, one is gaudily large with a ruby dominating it, a black one with etchings that can barely be seen, a wooden ring with a leaf that seems to be bursting from it, and other golden rings with and without gems. A rustic charm follows him as he is ruggedly handsome. To accentuate it you see his boots are caked with mud, his scabbard on his left side is scratched and torn in multiple spots, lastly his silver pistol has grime in most of the tight parts. With directions from the red head the page returns to the kitchen as Spade walks over to your group's table. He asks, "So I hear you are looking for me?" |
