About SorkeshSorkesh (Eldritch Scion Magus, Copper Draconic bloodline)
Sorkesh's Background:
There is a reasonably prosperous merchant household in Soklu owned by Assatemeif and his wife Khuta. Both are unassuming kindly followers of Sarenrae, found their mercantile business on funds made adventuring in their younger days. They treat all in their household as family. Including servants. They are also well-known for adopting four former child-slaves from the city of Katapesh. All of whom would have been sold to slavery in the mines, effectively a death sentence, and all for their wilfulness in disobeying or even rebelling against their former owners. Today is a fine day in Soklu and the family preparing to dine in the courtyard. "Finally ready to leave, are you?", a trim middle aged soldier asks gruffly, "About time too!"
"Right!" Assatemeif shouts in a commanding military fashion to get everyone's attention. "As the highest ranking Soklu guardsman present, it is my solemn duty to pronounce the punishment for my errant son, Sorkesh.
With a loud cheer, everyone in the household, including the servants, join in a sumptuous feast that lasts throughout the night. Late in the evening, Sorkesh and Senana, reminisce about the past.
The siblings then walk arm in arm to join the revelries of Sorkesh's farewell feast. The next day starts with what Sorkesh and Senana both take to be an auspicious sign. They are the only two in the entire household not nursing hangovers. Soon Sorkesh bids farewell to his parents, older brothers, younger sister and the numerous staff in the household. The farewells are numerous, but everyone is both happy for Sorkesh's future and sad for his departure. As arranged, Sorkesh leaves with a caravan bound for Eto. A caravan owned by his Uncle Ptennisnet, Khuta's older cousin from Sothis. The old boy is a bit of an overbearing chatterbox. But he is family and Sorkesh always enjoys his tall tales of adventure and fabulous treasures to be found in Osirion. "At least Uncle will keep me entertained on the way", Sorkesh reflects, as he takes his place among the caravan guards and waves farewell to his family as the caravan leaves for Eto... Motivation:
Sorkesh wants to do some good in the world, as his adoptive parents did. As well as to prove his mettle in both the martial and arcane arts. He has a very personal deep-seated loathing of bandits. Stat Block:
