Halloween is at the end of this week and I'd very much like to go as an android this year. Specifically the one from the cover of the Iron Gods Player's Guide (I fell in love with her the moment I saw her). Here's two pictures of her so you have an idea what I'm talking about: http://static4.paizo.com/image/product/catalog/PZO/PZO9000-15E.jpg
Now the armor and gear is standard cosplay stuff that I'm probably going to just do a quick crappy job with for now and then I'll try and do something more awesome for Paizocon (or think about it a lot and never actually do it. Either way). What I'm wanting to know is how to do the skin? I'm not overly experienced with body paint type things so any thoughts will be appreciated. What's really getting me is how to do the circuitry lines which should seem to glow. Perhaps a special metallic pink paint that shines really nicely when it catches the light just right? Does anyone have any insight into this? Also if anyone happens to have some pro-tips on how to do the armor/gear then that's wonderfully cool as well but mainly wondering about the skin. Thanks!
We Just started HoHS. At the moment we have: Efreeti Bloodline Ifrit Sorcerer (m). Worships Cayden Cailean and is from the Shackles. Previous gamer but first time playing Pathfinder. Human Cleric of Pharasma from (undecided at the moment but probably somewhere else in Ustalav) (f). Major Zealot and wants to purge all undead. Only player with previous Pathfinder experience. Peri-blooded Aasimar immolator inquisitor (given the fiery nature of emberkin, I allowed the archtype) of Sarenrae (f). Abandoned on the doorsteps of a temple to Sarenrae in Absolom as a child and raised by it. Had some more violent tendencies but wanted to do good. Wants to purge evil with holy fire. Player has never played a table top RPG before. Vetala-Born (Ajibachana) Dhampir Knife Master rogue from somewhere in Ustalav (f). Cleric doesn't know that she's a Dhampir and would probably fail to differentiate between a dhampir and a vampire at the moment. Rogue is being very good about race her nature from the cleric. Player has never played a table top RPG before. Half-elf two weapon fighter from Mwangi Expanse (f) (can't remember the name for the half elves from there) who left with her elven father to travel to the Half-Elf city of Erages in Kyonin. She never really got there and just kept traveling around Avistan. She tends toward medium armor and fights primarily with her quarterstaff or star-knives she picked up passing through Varisia. She worships Desna. Player has never played a table top RPG before.
I have a group of 6 players on roll20 who would all like to play PFS and I would like to run it but we're all completely new to organized play like this. I've read over the latest version of the guide and I noticed it doesn't address online play at all. I'm slated to run The Confirmation on Wednesday January 29th (tomorrow) but I'm still confused as to how certain things work. Namely, how do I check over my players' character sheets and ensure they get their chronicle sheets so that they can take their characters elsewhere and play without any problems? I have no idea how to check their character sheets remotely but for the chronicle sheets, I'm thinking that I might be able to electronically fill and sign the sheets then email them to my players? I just worry that if they took that to their FLGSs or to a convention, the GMs there might not accept it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you,
I've been listening to the Know Direction podcast lately and they mentioned something about it being a really good idea to show up a day early and that there's a lot of unofficial con stuff the day before. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it worth it? Should I be planning on being there Thursday though Monday? Does anything even happen on Monday or do people just go home? This will be my first convention ever so I really have no idea what to expect =x Thanks!
Oh, and I'm going to recommend against Wrath of the Righteous if the lust aspect of Shattered Star was a no go. Yeah... Just do a google image search for Nocticula. Should be fine for teens, though, unless they're super sheltered (not judging, just saying), but again, I'm not sure what age range we're really talking about here. I'm assuming older than 8 but younger than 15? Few years in that range but a very wide range of emotional and mental maturity so.... yeah...
While I haven't played in or run it, Jade Regent could work, I think. One of my current players is getting ready to GM it (and I get to play! =D) so I'll see if he can think of any sort of rated R type stuff in it. Plus, not sure what age you're looking at but if they're around middleschoolish then they probably would like a lot of the Tian aspects (east Asian themes). However, I'm VERY interested in that Carrion Crown conversion. Could you post a link? Thanks =D!
I have no idea what Paizo may have in store for Mythic down the line as far as PFS, Modules, etc. But, for APs, I've heard in interviews on Know Direction recently that they already have their next 3 APs planned (we so far know of Mummy's Mask and Iron Gods. The 3rd remains a mystery for now and will likely be revealed at Paizocon this year). It was stated that none of those are slated to be Mythic and that they're waiting until after WotR finishes to collect feedback on it (which will probably take about 6 months, I'm guessing) to determine if they want to do another Mythic AP. That being said, I personally love the Mythic rules and would be happy to see more content supporting them - however, not everything should be mythic. Carrion Crown, for example, is a great AP but would be entirely wrong to have as Mythic. Rise of the Runelords, however, could probably benefit nicely from Mythic (in fact, I'm intending to update it to mythic when I run it in a few months).

Yeah, you're probably right. This is just my first time dming pathfinder so it's mostly just me worrying that I'm very much /not/ a good dm D= Regardless, I really should be able to work with it. It can't be too much trouble. Besides, the WW has no central leadership or anything so Adrissant or Vrood may very well have not had anything to do with this players birth.
The_E wrote: This seems like a good idea to me. One thing Carrion Crown lacks, at least in its early installments, is a concrete link between the PCs and the big bads of the Whispering Way; this gives you a plot hook to have Adrissant and Vrood be known to the players much easier and more elegantly. I don't think he would know that his birth was engineered by the WW, though, so I'm not sure how much it would really help in character until there would be some sort of big reveal. Just not sure how all that would tie in with the other 5 modules of this AP since I haven't read them yet >.< Would it throw a wrench into anything? Would it be something that I could tie in as we get ready to tackle the other APs and not have it feel out of place, weird, or forced?
I told all of my players that I want to approve their characters before play, mostly as a formality However, one player who decided to read the Inner Sea World Guide stuff wanted to play a Dhampir Rogue who's birth was engineered by the Whispering Way. He doesn't know this and is a worshiper of Pharasma but, given the WW's involvement in the game, that could be a bit... well... It also has the potential to really tie the character to the story nicely which could be good but the problem is that I have only read HoHS so I have no idea how it could effect the other 5 parts. Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks! =)
I'm getting ready to start running HoHS this Thursday with full intentions of completing all 6 parts of CC. However, I have not yet read beyond HoHS. Is there a significance to the "exactly 25 words?" Thanks for these, by the way. They're pretty excellent =) I've heard that the hardest part with running this AP is making the BBEG actually feel intimidating in a horror type way. I'm told this should be done by giving them an over-arching, ever-present, growing (from minor curiosity to nigh smothering by the end) presence. I think these letters should help with that considerably. |
