Sisya's page

Sisya begins wondering if she should have focused on improving her social skills a bit more before leaving the library in Jalmeray. Or at least learning some spells or techniques for influencing crowds like some magical musicians do. She files that thought away for future study as she readies the only offensive spell she knows, Magic Missile.

Sisya will spend all three of her actions shooting one missile each at the three toughest, angriest looking people in the mob, and really hoping she won't seriously hurt anyone.

Dammit, I just remembered the silver tongue potion/elixir/whatever-it-was we were given...sigh

Sisya speaks to the Socialite.
"You never know what this person may be able to do for you and your friends. I'm sure her gratitude would be great once she learned how you spoke on behalf of freeing her. Nagas are very powerful, magical beings. Wouldn't it be impressive to have one as a friend?"

Society + Clue In: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (9) + 6 + 1 = 16

After talking to the Socialite, she will go over to the drunk. On her way, Sisya will set aside her Scholarly tools and glasses. She will add her shawl to the pile, uncovering her naturally muscular arms. Making sure to make use of as much of her 6-foot 190lb orcish heritage as possible, she stands behind Cleva (if that's who Cleva was intending to be taking to) and glower at the drunk.

"Hmm," Sisya growls, grinning, showing off the tusks in her lower jaw. "Did you say something about 'Monster lovers'?"

Intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

(The intimidating effect is somewhat spoiled by her brightly-colored shimmery shirt and skirt, and the shiny metal clips adorning her braids)

"Hello, my name is Sisya, and I for one will definitely be following up with you on this fascinating research!" Sisya says to Tavvar excitedly as they stand amidst the chaos of the dispelled ritual and its scattered components. "But my companions and I have a woman unjustly turned to stone to rescue before she is destroyed."

Sisya takes in the scene with an Occult-trained eye:
Occultism: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

"I think I see a defect in that corner of the diagram." Sisya begins to give directions and advice on further disabling the ritual.

Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Arcana: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26

"I agree, Quetsiyah. The concept of recreating shadows of events is intriguing, but this is starting to look as if the shadows are beginning to take on a life of their own..."

Bardic Lore: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
(to recognize the incident being spoken of by the shadowy voice)

Perception (low-light): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Sisya looks for someone solid among the shadows, but has difficulty seeing anything.

Sisya thanks the janitor and starts following the indicated path to where Tavvar is. She casts Light on her pencil, using it kind of like a sunrod, illuminating their path.

Sisya nods in agreement, she is absolutely interested in Tavvar Hamavsi's work and excited to learn more.

Sisya locates someone who looks as close to an administrator or teacher as she can. She consciously thickens her Vudrani accent as she speaks to them.

"Excuse me, I am here visiting your city from glorious Jalmeray. A fellow scholar was telling me about someone here at the College of Mysteries who was working on a new ritual? Would you happen to know where we could find her?" Sisya holds up her clipboard and writing implements. "I would like to ask her some questions about her studies."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21

On to C4, I guess.

"We have possibly found part of the house's story. This schematic details how to create a small construct out of a piece of a living soul. If something like that was trapped here in this home it could certainly cause strange supernatural occurrences. Occurrences that might not end when the house is torn down. If we don't find a way to lay whatever is going on here to rest, things like your injuries might continue to happen in whatever is built in this location."

Sisya will offer Qetsiyah her minor healing potion.

"I notice you are still limping, please drink this if you think the limp is going to affect your ability to fight.

Sisya reads over the schematics, and remembers something.
"Quetsiyah, when your legs were injured, you said something about... 'doll legs'?"

Sisya ponders the schematics again.

"We... might need to be watching out for a small, haunted, magical construct..."

I would also like to know if I only have one 1st level spell left for the day or two...

Well, I can cast my heal one more time before I'm totally tapped out. Also I've got a minor healing potion I requisitioned, but unless Quetsiyah gets like 3 similar heals in one round she's just going to bleed any healing we can do away in a round or two. Anyone else have potions or something?

Can anyone else try a Medicine check on her? I don't think I have healer's tools. Can I use Emoubu's?

Sisya recites a passage from an epic poem, it has a calming, pastoral theme. Quetsiyah's wounds stop bleeding and start to heal up.

Healing from Soothe spell: 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

(Quetsiyah also gets +2 to anything mind-affecting for the next 1 min)

Sisya will try to see what attacked her.

Should I make a roll of some sort to figure out what it was? A creature, or trap, a spell?

Sisya will carefully follow Quetsiyah.

"I am fairly certain it is because they are worried about the heavy pieces of the upper floors that are falling down here. Someone not being careful could get injured.

"Continuing left sounds good to me." Sisya says in response to Emoubu's suggestion. "Just one moment, though."

Sisya casts Detect Magic in case there's something magical they've possibly missed in the room.

Sisya will draw her shortsword and follow.

If it is willing to come with us, I'd like to help our new friend find a home. I don't want to drag it along to the other tasks, though. How big is it, btw? Could Sisya bundle it in a cloak so it doesn't draw too much attention, then take it to the Lodge to be looked after by some healers until we're done with the other tasks? Sisya could catch up with the party at the next location.

If Cleva doesn’t pop in to do it before we finish searching, I want to have Sisya cast Detect Magic a few times before we finish searching the area. I was trying to leave something for Cleva to do, so I wasn’t doing the diplomacy and knowledge checks and all the magic-related stuff while there was another magic-user in the party. But Cleva hasn’t posted since Friday, so... Detect Magic before we leave.

There were two doors on this deck, one to the North and one South, I was thinking we probably hadn't checked them yet, but I could be wrong. There were also 2 doors on the top deck that I don't think we checked yet either.

Sisya will be somewhat glancing around, but she's mostly interested in studying her new friend.

Gonna let Cleva do the searching (detect magic, etc) with Emoubu and Qetsiyah.

Sisya lowers the torch a bit so that it illuminates her face. She smiles peacefully and extends an empty hand to the creature. "Hello. We are here to help you. Do you have a name, friend?"

Sisya pulls a torch out of her pack, but casts “Light” on it instead of lighting it on fire.
”Don’t want the torch to go out if it falls in any water, do we?” She smiles down at Cleva. ”Looks like Qetsiyah and Emoubu are going in front, we will stick together just behind so they have backup, and a light.”

Sisya will stay by Cleva, but also try to be no more than 5ft behind the fighter-types.

Perception (w/low-light vision): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

"As eager as I am to explore the house," Sisya says, looking over her notes of the four tasks. "I believe the unknown creature is the most pressing concern. Whether it is dangerous itself or in danger from being re-captured, finding it sooner is better than later."

Sisya adds comments about the Occult topics Emoubou is discussing.

Sisya recalls a tale of a city that was dealing with refugees, and relates in detail the story of what they did in response.

If they need some help, Sisya can put in a word or two.

As they walked over, Sisya replied in her quiet, Vudrani-accented common:
"A house may not be able to speak, but the objects found inside one can tell a story of those who lived there. People leave clues about their lives -information about what was important to them- in the places they live. It is up to us to gather and interpret these clues and record the history they tell. Then, someday, someone will be able read our record in a 'dusty old book'-" The half-orc smiled as she somewhat teasingly quoted Qetsiyah's term, "-and hopefully, learn something from it."

When they arrive, Sisya accepts a cup also. She thanks the Captain.

Sisya makes a note of the details and location of the house. "We will certainly investigate, sir. It would be horrible for the house's history to be lost"

I vote for the disrupting weapons scroll, there might be undead in that house. I have a minor healing potion, and can cast a healing spell and/or magic missile myself.

The half-orc in the captain's hat next?

“Though I am still working on learning to read Draconic, it did look like he was making some good headway on the work, ma’am.” Sisya adds. “You should take a look.”

Rolling to assist, since Emoubu’s roll was pretty good, but my bonus is the same for all four of them, if rolling something else will help better.

@The Party: To be clear, this is a *group* skill challenge

Ah, ok, didn't realise that. Sisya will stay by the dwarf. Thought it was a "go mingle and meet people" scene, and Sisya's already met the dwarf before.

Sisya went over to see if the dwarf was telling a story she hadn't heard yet (she met her faction leader while on an assignment recently and is always interested to hear more of his tales, but has heard [and transcribed] a few of them already).

(Sisya's first adventure was 2-01 Citadel of Corruption, another "meet your leaders" event, heh)

He is telling one she has heard before, so she is going over to get a drink from the half-orc with the Captain's hat.

"Greetings Emoubu." Sisya makes some quick notes on her board, recording the name and a brief description of the people she just met. She smiles at the kobold. "You will be in one book at least by the end of the night, friend. I keep a record of the people I meet, especially the more interesting and unusual ones. Everyone has a story to tell, and my life's goal --Gruhastha willing-- is to preserve as many people's stories as I can."

A tall woman in a bright Vudrani-style tunic, loose pants, and draped shawl stands nearby. She has long black hair done up in many small braids that are gathered into one large braid, held here and there with small shiny gold clips. She holds a board with sheets of paper clipped to it, making notes as she studies something or other. As she looks up from her notes, she lowers the spectacles that were resting on her forehead. One can notice a slightly greenish tinge to her Vudrani-brown skin.

She smiles warmly at the Gnome, showing a pair of slightly oversized tusk-like teeth that stick up from her lower jaw. She crouches, going to one knee as she brings herself to the Gnome's eye-level. The half-orc extends a hand as she introduces herself.

"Hello! My name is Sisya," she says warmly in accented Common. "Pleased to meet you, Cleva"

Probably should have actually rolled that Day Job roll. Sorry, still figuring out PbP. First time doing it.
