Hi guys, I'm planing to do a Christmas adventure with my friends on Monday but I lack good ideas to be honest. Since we are all pretty new to Pathfinder I'm not too experienced in making up adventures. I need a Christmas adventure for a party of four level 6 characters. Should be funny and exciting and possible to make in about 4 hours. Could you help me finding a adventure I could use? Alternatively I'm also happy about any ideas to make something up on my own. Since our group cointains mostly of "not so good" people, I thought about Krampus visiting them to punish them. But from there I don't know how the story could continue. Thanks a lot in advance!!! :)
Oracles seem to be fun. I tried to read a guide about them but they sound very complicated. I may also be wrong with that. I think a Warpriest will be easier to play for beginners like us. If you could help me building a Warpriest (or a Battle Oracle) level 6 that would be great. *confused* PS: That thing with stealing is cleared and we are fine with that. I think it wouldn't be realistic for a evil character to totally trust his new allys. Maybe that's something that will get better after the characters know each other.
I told him about the Bloodrager. But he isn't a big fan of the Barbarian... I thought about the Skald as well. But I don't think he likes to sing songs and stuff. That's not the kind of magic he has in mind. What about the Arcane Duelist and Dervish Dancer? What kind of magic do they use. Do they rely on songs and music as well? TWF isn't necessarily obligatory. One weapon would be fine. So Warpriest and Magus might be a good option, right? Which one got more "flashy spells" (explosions and stuff) and which one is squishier? The Stygian Slayer sounds awesome. I'll have a look at him. What do you think about the Duelist? @ DM_Blake: Our whole party is somewhat darker. And since we are really good friends that actually is fine.
Hey guys, since you helped me a lot with finding a class for my own I'd thought you could help a friend of mine as well who wants to start with Pathfinder and is looking for a class. He likes to play neutral to evil characters whose main goal it is to get as rich as possible. He also doesn't care about stealing from his friends. Even though he isn't a good character he always has something funny to say. He wants to be a bit like Drizzt Do'Urden (+ being able to spellcast). The character also should be a Drow. He would like to play a melee class and wants to be able to do some kind of spell casting as well. I originally thought about the Eldritch Knight but as far i was know the EK is more magic than melee oriented. I then thought about the Inquisitor. But actually most of them are using either sword and shield or 2handed weapons. And my friends prefers fighting with fast weapons. Maybe the Bard is his best bet. But I'm very sure he doesn't like the music stuff about the Bard (Bard doesn't sound "manly" enough). And he also wants to fight in the front line. That's why I thought about the Arcane Duelist or Dervish Dancer Archetype. The Duelist or Assasin Prestige Classes also sounds pretty nice. Would the Magus also be a decent choice? I don't know how melee oriented he is (he wants to play more melee than spell casting). And maybe he is too squishy? Maybe the last choice I can think of would be the Ninja. He isn't able to do spell casting I think but fits the darker character pretty good. So. To sum things up: I'm looking for a darker charakter playable as Drow who is a deadly und fast fighter, doesn't die to fast in the front line and ideally knows a few spells. Thanks a lot for your help. :) PS: Since he knows even less about Pathfinder than me, the class shouldn't be too hard to play.
Hi there. I'm pretty new to Pathfinder so please be patient with me. As far as I know you can attack 2 times after you get a BAB of +6. Let's say I'm jusing a Double Weapon (e.g. Orcish Double Axe) or a Bow with Rapid Shot I also get 2 attacks. Does that mean I get 4 attacks (2 from the BAB, 2 from the Feat/Double Weapon)?
Please help me. Thank you. :)
So, I just read some stuff and found that guide about the Reach Cleric: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5kvBvq2DEHjRWctNG05X0JINm8/view I really like the idea. Since I don't need to follow a certain deity to use a longspear it seems to be the weapon of my choice. It allows me to play a melee based character without needing to go too close (allowing me to keep an eye on the fight and my team mates). @ BadBird: Is there a way to mix the idea of the Reach Cleric with your idea of the Evangelist. Is there a better deity maybe that fit my needs? So far I like the Evangelist build (from BadBird) and the bard build (from Corwin Illum) the most. Which one is better? :P

Evangelist of Shizuru sounds amazing. I'll look that up. I atually prefer being wise over being charismatic. That also would be a point towards the Evangelist, right? How do I build him? By the way: What's about a Controller Oracle? I know he got no chance to go into melee but it seems to be a very tactical class Just in terms of fun, tactics and party/enemy control... who is better suited: Evangelist or Controller Oracle? The more I'm thinking about it the less i think melee is suited for me. But I like the idea of having a whip. Is there a way of playing my Cleric/Evangelist/Oracle with a whip?

@ElterAgO: That's what I want to do. Maybe just forget about the melee idea. That isn't too important for me. Since we already have 2 melees a ranged class would be not too bad i guess.Of your examples I liked No. 2 the most. As I said I want to control the battle and want to be the tactician of the party (just forget about the melee idea. I think that doesn't work for me). Regarding your questions:
First of all: Pathfinder got a great community. I'm truly impressed about how much help I got here. I'm practicing Kendo. So originally I liked the idea of playing a Samurai. Unfortunately my team needs a support. I want to play a character who is using medium or heavy armor but also relys on his reflexes to not get hit.
I want somebody who can be deadly but also someone who uses his tactical instincs to control the battle and to determine the flow of the battle (and not someone who just fights for himself). I don't like characters who are too lawful and/or good. My character should have some evil characteristics. He's loyal to his allys but is able to kill or sacrifice if it helps to reach a certain goal. Hope that helps.
You all helped me a lot so far. So far I'm stucked with Bard, Inquisitor and Oracle. Which one got the best mixture of offense and support (fitting into my party) and how should I build him then? @DM-DR: Your build and the guide helped a lot. :) @BadBird: How is the Evangelist of Gorum played? Sounds pretty badass. PS: I don't insist on going into melee as long as I'm able to do something else than spellcasting.
@ BadBird:
So you think Oracle would be too difficult to play as a starter? @Caineach:
@Laiho Vanallo:
Druid isn't my kind of class I guess. I just don't like its focus on nature and stuff. I actually never thought about a Bard. I always thought about him as someone standing back and singing some motivating songs while the rest of the party is fighting.
I just read some stuff about the Oracle and it seems pretty nice. Best would be an Enabler or Controller right? But I think the damage is lacking here as well. The Inquisitor seems to be VERY interesting, especially the Acolythe way of playing him. Seems to be a kind of Battle Cleric, right? I wasn't too sure about the Warpriest and the Bloodrager because they seem to be too melee heavy and wouldn't fit into our party. Or am I wrong with that? So Inquisitor, Bard and Oracle sound like good ideas. How should I build them to offer enough support for my team?
Bandw2 wrote: well i feel like he WANTS to be a full caster, but wants to not be reliant on spells in combat. That's exactly what I am looking for. A spell casting class that is also able to do anything besides casting spells during battle. :P
Hi there, First of all: I'm pretty new to Pathfinder and only played a few times so far. I started with a wizard but wasn't too happy with it (maybe because I was low level, I heard it gets better later on). So i switched to Cleric and tried to play a bad touch cleric. But I'm also not too satisfied with that. I'm looking for a class, that is able to cast spells as that is missing in our group and the moment (we got a Barbarian, a Ranger and a Knight).
Magus actually seemed pretty nice. But I'm not sure if I actually understand how his skills work. His early game doesn't seem to be very newbie friendly. I like to play characters with a "darker" alignment, maybe kinda crazy (not too evil though as it makes playing in a group much harder). I'd be very happy about your help. :)
