Odd question, if I don't use foundry can I purchase this and export the maps?

Grand Lodge

This is probably a long shot, but I'm prepping to run Blood Lords for my local group, i've got a decent number of skeletons and zombies, but any suggestions for other undead I should pick up? I assume we won't know until the book drops, but maybe someone with some insider knowledge could give me a hint? Or we can speculate wildly!

Grand Lodge

Awesome! Sounds like a good fit, do you want to message me a way to get in touch with you there?

Grand Lodge

My girlfriend and I will be playing this scenario and are looking for a group. We have a lvl6 beast shape animal aspect druid and a level 6 archery focused ranger. Would love to find arcane and divine types but any party would do.

Hi All

I was considering buying a 4 day badge to sign up during open registration but I'm not sure if it's worth it without knowing what's still available. I'll only be able to attend specific time slots so I want to check on the status of the few events that I can attend. Is there a way to check on the availability of events prior to open registration or buying a 4-day badge?

Grand Lodge

I am pretty curious about the process because Mike with Gen Con is saying the deadline was not met. My history with paizo would have me believe them and the OP team but seems like communication is crossed somewhere.

Hi all, can anyone help remind me what night the PFS special or specials are normally on?

Grand Lodge

I'm surprised I haven't seen more of this, but is anyone gathering their tables of 6 ahead of time for the GC specials? Specifically I'm trying to find 2 more people for the Hao Jin Cataclysm, levels 7-9.

Grand Lodge

Cool thank you. Let me see if I have anything I feel like running.

Grand Lodge

Anything happening Saturday night that is not the Banquet?

I'm just starting to listen to the GCP beta playthrough, hope to hear some good things. I am excited!

Grand Lodge

Erik, Thanks for the response. I was going to back anyway, but I appreciate your willingness to recognize some previous issues, and give us your thoughts! I have always appreciated Paizo's interaction with the community and that keeps me coming back! Well that and awesome games!

Grand Lodge

Full disclosure I did back the Starfinder mini KS, and the comments on pages like that are only angry backers, but you can already see some of them spill into the Starfinder KS comments. Take with as little or as much salt as you like.

I'd be interested in hearing from someone at Paizo about Ninja Division/Soda Pop's less than stellar impression that has been left by it's previous Kickstarters.

I grabbed skill synergy for my solarion and picked up the other CHA based skills as well. That way you can be an ok captain or with you BAB be an ok gunner in space combat and be an ok face in CC. Also grenades are your friend since the to hit bonus is based on STR.

This feels a bit like thanking a drug dealer for getting my first hit, but playing at starfinder at GC and getting setup to runs games in the next weeks I appreciate all the work!

Hey CS team, thanks for the hard work!

Grand Lodge

I put some thoughts to keyboard about books 1 and 2 of Strange Aeons and some reflections about what my gaming group has done while going through it.

Grand Lodge

Oh, the image title of the lion says Ranginori, I seriously hope that is what the lord looks like!

Grand Lodge

For the fitting enhancement it mentions size, but does it also adjust shape? Since that could be very useful for druids who purchase barding/armor for their wild shape forms and cannot yet afford the wild enhancement.

Grand Lodge

Are you guys still targeting July to know more about pre ordering and picking up books at GenCon?

My excitement has me ready to burst! You guys are doing great, so keep up the good work.

Grand Lodge

I watched the thursday night 4th level pre gen slot and say a few tickets open up yesterday then I grabbed them. More could open as people finalize schedules or move things around keep checking!

Also I did read a few places that Organized play leadership is evaluating how many spots there are, but they also said they can't commit to anything yet since they don't even have all of their GMs they need signed up, meaning they may have to cancel some PFS games before they even think about moving them to SFS.

Here is the thread. http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2udj5?GenCon-50-Event-Registration-Experience#2 5

Also did anyone hear if we can pick up preorder SF books at GC?

Bob,

I want you and the other guys to know we appreciate you. Emotionally it's Gen Con, its a new system, ITS A HIGH LEVEL MODWOWOWOWWOOO.
But we appreciate you guys for all you do.

This exactly, there are so many people who to experience what SFS and PFS have to offer, thanks for trying to make it happen!

Grand Lodge

Yeah same here, started at 3800 in line. SF seems like it will be popular this year. I am hoping they open up more slots!

Grand Lodge

Two unexpected deaths in my game. Lvl 3 rogue and inquisitor each got paralyzed and then killed by ghouls while the rest of the party was still in the doorway. It was in the tower basement right after the defeated klades and his ghouls.

Grand Lodge

Thanks! Either way you have my sale, I'd just love to avoid the rush as the doors open!

Grand Lodge

Hi all! Has there been any other word about picking up preorders at Gen Con?

Grand Lodge

Here are some cultists I painted up for my SA game. They are going to be the apostles in orpiment, the floaty guy will be the tatterman, and the guy with the mace will likely be zandalus (I know he doesn't have armor).

Grand Lodge

Anyone willing to trade their Damphir boon for my Suli boon?

Grand Lodge

Thanks for all of the advice everyone. I am leaning towards 15 PB with the caveat that my players have no issue with this. Likely they won't they like fun and a challenge, but don't extrapolate those things purely from stats. Plus I won't from on them dumping stats if they like, as I always give the disclaimer I won't feel bad if they get stat damaged/drained to 0.

Grand Lodge

Thanks, that's the direction I was heading. I want a challenge and threat of death. I am just trying to reconcile that with me as a player loving 20 PB.

Grand Lodge

I am in the planning stages right now, but will likely have a party of 4 experienced players. I wanted to see how every felt about that party size for this AP and if you went with 15 or 20 point buy? Do you think it was too easy at 20 PB, too hard at 15?

Grand Lodge

Thanks! My group is not as steeped in Golarion lore as I am, but once we get started they will do research about gods, ethnicity and locations to prepare and I love to incorporate all the lore I can into my games.

Grand Lodge

Reading through ISoS the shrine of Desna got me thinking. Would Desna or her followers be a good ally against the old ones, or at least in the first book of the AP?

Desna is tied to dreams, the stars and fate, so it seems the Old Ones would be an enemy and the interference in the dreams of mortals might be something she, or likely one of her agents might try to do something about.

I ask because I am planning on running the game, I like things to be tough but also I like give my PCs some type of resource when things get really bad. I was thinking of giving them some type of blessing points they can use for a re roll or a minor bonus and regaining them would be based on things that mesh with Desna's profile. My other thought was doing this with another old one, such as Cthulhu, and allow the PCs to take on insanity points or some kind of corruption to get bonuses, and each time they do, I can check to see if they suffer a lasting negative effect.

Grand Lodge

Thanks Preston, I am curious about chronicles, but I would hope the ruling would be similar

My original reply before I saw preston's post:
I completely understand the broken device point of view, and while devices have become slightly cheaper, they are not cheap enough to the point that we can just replace them the next day like we can with paper. I do see our age of technology where a good majority of the GMs, in my area at least, use electronic devices to run their games and I only see the frequency of this increasing.

Per the Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild Guide.

Quote:

In order to utilize content from an Additional Resource,

a player must have a physical copy of the Additional
Resource in question, a name-watermarked Paizo PDF of
it, or a printout of the relevant pages from it, as well as a
copy of the current version of the Additional Resources
list. You must inform the Game Master that you plan
to use Additional Resource material before play begins,
so he has a chance to familiarize himself with the new
material.

It is already written that we can use a PDF of source material, given we own the pdf, and we let the GM know ahead of time so they can become familiar with it. If they don't own the material, how can they become familiar with it without using our electronic device, if that is how we choose to bring it to the table?

I would say, they add line that if you choose to use electronic media that you assume all risk to your device.

Now I don't have a perfect answer for the usable boon section, except that we simply say, that you can use electronic chronicles however you cannot use an expendable boon on them.

Grand Lodge

Well that does give a pretty clear answer, if a little dated. I wonder if current campaign leadership has any different thoughts on the subject? What are my chances of casting a summon Tonya spell and it working this close to Gen Con?

Thanks BNW

Grand Lodge

Spawning a bit off of this thread. I wanted to see what the official stance, if there is one, and if not everyone's thoughts using scanned copies of character sheets (or hero lab on tablet) and scanned chronicles at a table.

Do you think it's ok? Does it create an undue distraction? Is it a great way to have all of your backup characters? Does it create additional trust issues?

Personally I think it's fine and I see people doing it already with hero lab, and I rarely see people get audited, but I want to have my docs with me if I do. I love the paper feel and would bring my character and his folder of past glories, but it would be cool to have all of my backups digitized in case I need to swap characters on the fly.

Grand Lodge

I was thinking about this exact thing. My question is can I play my character if all I have is digital material? Scanned copies of all of my chronicles and character sheet, along with watermarked PDFs of the books?

My intent is to bring the character I expect to play, because I like paper better, but I don't want to bring a small dead forest with me for backup.

I hate to sounds like a broken record but I am in the same camp as others, I don't do apple only products since my household is mixed across platforms.

I also have concerns about a sub based model, that would be the biggest thing to scare me off if we were platform independent.

That being said I'd love more tools to help me GMing and organizing.

Grand Lodge

I know it's a very long shot, but I have a Suli boon and would love to find a damphir boon.

Grand Lodge

I am just about to start up a new campaign with an entirely new group of people. I wanted to play something interesting, we were lacking a meaty character so I decided to make a barbarian. I want to make a thunder and fang style shoanti and want some advice. I think I am going to dip ranger for 2 levels after creation, since it fits with my story (Barbarian who has left the tribe and is hunting/searching for someone). We are starting at 2nd level.

Race: Human

My stats with 20 point buy are

S 18

D 14

C 15

W 10

I 8

C 10

My first few levels, feats and abilities would go like this.

1 B Wep Focus Earthbreaker and Weapon Focus Klar

2 R Favored Enemy (Orc)

3 R Combat Style (TWF) + Thunder and Fang Style

4 B +1 con, accuracy rage power

5 B Power Attack

Level 5 Attacks

EB +7 2d6+8

Klar +7 1d6+4

w/ Rage and accurate stance

EB +10 2d6+10

Klar +10 1d6+6

AC 22 (10+2(dex)+7(Breast Plate +1)+3(+1 Klar))

HP 56 (+10 temp HP with Rage)

So this is what I have put together so far. I am going with unchained barbarian since I think the static +2 to hit and dmg helps the TWF build more. I really like the ability to keep my shield bonus to AC while fighting with thunder and fang. I think with the accurate stance and rage I can outpace the penalties for TWF.

One question I have is, should I bother with ranger? I took it so that I would not need a 15 dex and to get Thunder and Fang. I could swap my Con and Dex to get to 15 dex and hit the prereqs for TWF on my own.

Does this look suitable at all, I don’t need to be OP but I want to be able to hold my own as a the tough guy in the party. I also have a strong want to paint the shoanti miniature.

Thoughts, concerns, comments, lambasting?

Grand Lodge

I would love a code, with the amount of characters I build, this would be a big help.

Grand Lodge

Hi All,

Not sure if this belongs here or in the Carrion Crown forum, but reading over the sanctioned content section I see it lists Part3-Area U11. I assume this means Part 3 through area U11 and not Part 3 and Area U11, but that seems like a huge chunk of the adventure path.

Has anyone run this yet for society (I have already ran it as a homegame and it took a good while.)?

Grand Lodge

Sir Tarim Eagle Knight of Andoran Level 13 halfling, Fighter Defender of freedom and Phoenix Slayer reporting for duty!

Grand Lodge

If I were a paladin first and then mutliclassed cavalier, would I still ignore armor check penalies when riding my mount, as it seems it a function of the cavalier and not the mount. I am less concerned about the feats.

Grand Lodge

I would agree, that they both stack, up until paladin level 11 when the paladins mount becomes a magical beast, but before that point it is still just an animal with int 6.

Grand Lodge

Hi All,

I am currently trying to decide where to go next with my paladin and I want to branch out in to mounted combat, so I thought about taking a few levels of Cavalier.

However my question comes from how do the paladin and cavalier mounts stack? Do I have the option for two mounts? Do both classes stack for my total druid level? Do I get both the Int 6 mount and the Cavalier ability to ignore armor check penalty?

Any thought or can anyone point me to anything official?

Grand Lodge

Sweet thanks for the help hopefully I will be able to find a late night game at scotties.

Grand Lodge

Hey guys,

I will be at gencon early Wednesday and am possibly looking to get into some pre con games Wednesday night. Does anyone know a good place; like a forum post my search fu missed, or warhorn site, or is it an invitation only kind of thing? I would appreciate any help and have characters spanning the level ranges.
