"Thank you, Chip! Most of my money goes to taking care of my freeloading roommates, and possibly also serums of healing after I get mauled on Starfinder missions." She sighs wistfully. "Pharasma's chew toy for life, I'm afraid."

Nim does her best to move through the crowd, but since she lacks a comm someone will have to let her know we got a message.

"I really have to ask where that eye came from."

Nim rights the robot and inspects it for damage and if she can access its records. She's never studied anything the realm of computers, but the fine art of blowing things up has left her with some Engineering knowledge.

Nim nudges Captain Mustache and point at the crystal, but as she opens her mouth an exasperated sigh comes out. Overwhelmed that she's dealing with three kids with wealth and resources enough to have a crystal like that, while she's got to support all the dwarf freeloaders who moved into her apartment after her last Starfinder Society mission, she just shakes her head and moves forward to see what the disturbance is up ahead.

Maybe there will be a pleasant explanation for the crystal, Nim thinks as she does her best to push her way through the crowds, despite only being 5'4". Maybe they're a team of midget thieves who pose as children, and they're slipping their stolen goods onto us as part of a frame job. That would be better than them being just that rich to have a crystal as an ornament and not even know what it is.

Nim hands over her copy of the album, already bracing that she's making a poor life decision to go along with every other choice in her life.

Nim does her best to memorize the face of the father and his three kids; anyone who makes Dad Jokes like that to complete strangers is obviously unhinged and needs to be watched out for.

Satisfied she has the faces of the future felon and his spawn memorized, she attempts to sneak her weapons past the guard, hoping her cohort with all the guns is providing a distraction.

stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

No matter how her attempts at obfuscation turn out, she nods toward the confiscated weapons and asks "Can I have one?"

"Do we talk to the fellow or sneak by him while he's distracted? I'm not really comfortable going unarmed, and I'm not too good at hiding weapons. Captain Mustache, you think you can use that fabled charisma of yours to add to the distraction those girls are inadvertantly providing if we go that route? Or is someone among us a master of presdigitation when it comes to hiding weapons?

So glad I spent all my money on new armor, rather than a new gun, thinks Nim.

Oh, good, thinks Nim. Lovesick Zigvigix invites Historia to a concert and uses us as a cover, and she only comes because she wants us to do some dirty work for her. Oh, and don't let him know she's using him as cover for her operation. It's like they're fighting over who I should hate more.

So several times I've had to roll Survival, missing it by such a small amount that if I had the class bonus I would have made the rolls. When my character recently leveled I gave my character Skill Synergy, so she could have Survival as a class skill.

I just realized that, being a soldier, she had Survival as a class skill all along.

Nim really does want to try and sell that album. A recent mission left her with a horde of dwarves living in her apartment, and she's got a ton of mouths to feed.

Also, given the title of the mission she suspects Zigvigix will be involved. She joined the Exo-Guardians to protect the Pact Worlds from outside threats, and she expected other members to be so motivated. Her prior interaction with Zigvigix has taught her he values his social life more than the cause. In Nim's eyes he's a creeper who shouldn't have his position, and she suspects from this mission's name he's misappropriated Starfinder Society funds for personal reasons.

When things go wrong, as they always do, Nim wants to be there to make things right while Zigvigix is busy trying to impress the ladies by offering to show them his thorax.

And if Captain Mustache is going to be there she'll need to keep an eye on him as well, in the event he decides to have another impromptu death scene in the middle of a fight.

Captain Mustache! Fresh from his appearance on Live Exploration Extreme! I hope you brought some more of that fine ham with you, I've got a lot of dwarves to feed!

I've a level 3 Human Soldier I'd be interested in playing through this, since she still has a copy of Star Sugar Heartlove she's hoping she can get a good price for from someone, and this sounds like the mission to do it.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim would like to say she's surprised when she gets to her quarters and finds it filled with dwarves that were on Salvation's Moon. All of them turn to her in unison and begin blabbering. Since she's unable to speak Dwarven, she has to wait for Holsin and Ylga to arrive to understand what's going on.

"We took a vote," explains Ylga. "And we've decided that between your near-Dwarven shortness and the fact you speak Terran, Torag sent you to rescue us! We've decided we'll be staying with you as you lead us to the glory of Torag!"

Nim looks around for a camdrone, hoping this is some sort of stinger he's filming for reruns of the show. When she realizes it isn't, she lets out a sad sigh.

And far from the mortal realms, Pharasma plays her trombone to make a sad, sad sound.

It's been a delight gaming with everyone! Thanks for being so nice as I took my first steps into PbP! Nim is also hitting third level, but I don't know if I'll change Nim's progression to reflect the dwarf sycophants she now has living with her, or if I'll have my next OP character be based on it, since the Society allows dwarves now.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

"The Starfinder Society needs funding, and if we're certain Zo! wasn't previously aware of the dwarves being there I say we can work with him again. If all those vaults comtain similar groups of trapped people...". Nim trails off, thinking again about her luck only went bad after she met Zo!. Is Pharasma playing with her lick for freely associating with undead?

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim asks Wazasha "Can you give us directions from this door to the surface, preferably to an area with an atmosphere?". She then turns to the team. "The exhaust's dissipated. I say we get the dwarves up here, finish their 'Quest for the Sky,' and never set foot here again.". She pauses. "Almost forgot. We should bring the goblins and their gear. I'll carry one."

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

The most spoiler-free thing I can say is that, based on Nim's last mission on the moon, she thinks the dwarves are the victims here, and whoever built the moon are some of the biggest scumbags in the universe.

We'll see if the leader of the Second Seekers gets lumped into that category when we find out what she knew before the mission.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Does my Mercenary theme reduce any potential DC on that Profession check by 5? After The Captain's feigning of death Nim's looking to upstage him.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Is it like this on every mission on this moon? Deva vu, thinks Nim as she calls on her mercenary knowledge to take a good action pose.

Profession (Mercenary): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

Wait, are the Second Seekers in on this as well? I really do have to hate everybody in the Starfinder Society, don't I?

Once Nim is sure that the cameras are on her she turns toward the Captain, and in a casual voice says ”That performance was so hammy it would be a hate crime to show it to a vegetarian.”

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim will examine the door to see if there is any way to activate or override it that the goblins missed due to their fondness for explosives. Or if there are any sensors, as Nim has a theory

Engineering: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

"Hey, does anyone else remember a story about a subterranean vault with adamantine doors, and how a group of heroes retired from adventuring after selling those doors? Just me? OK."

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

AOO survival knife: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Nim will then go stand next to Faraeon and switch back to her flamethrower.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim sighs, having a perfect chance to move and hit the goblin in front of Faraeon with the flamethrower, but not wanting to cook the unconscious one.

"Just wouldn't be right to cook the one that isn't up to fight back," she says aloud for the camera's benefit as she switches to her knife and moves behind the one Faraeon is fighting, as flanking and stabbing someone in the back is totally cool in Nim's book.

Survival Knife: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim will move to the bottom right corner of the giant, black...pit? Stalagmite? Stalactite?...next to her, one row above the lead goblin, leaving her lacking cover, but speeding up play by not having to ask for confirmation on whether certain squares are impassible or not.

"I've never been shot with a laser before," Nim says for the camera's benefit. "It's not that bad."

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

I'm assuming that the portions of the map with the stalagmites are difficult terrain or impassible cover. If that is the case Nim is going to run to the square six to the left of the red goblin. I'm assuming she's moving toward the sound of the goblins, since she's initially unable to see them from her original position, then maneuvering around as she can discern their locations.

Time to draw fire and set off any traps the goblins have set up, thinks the meatshield of the party.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Guess I should really look into buying a comm, thinks Nim. But I do need to save up for another upgrade. Oh, well, if AMOSU finds something I'm sure I'll hear the shooting.

If Ylga is able to come I'll offer her my Serum of Healing Mark I, with the caveat that I'll need it back if she doesn't use it. I like the idea of her coming, but also worry her lack of ranged attacks is going to get her mowed down, and I'd rather she has something to help herself if she becomes a prime target.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim now wishes she brought her flight suit, so Ylga could come along. Nim yet again checks her environmental seals and heads up. Looking around and seeing the mist is here as well, she gets chatty.

"Okay, says Nim. "Do we have any idea if this exhaust is flammable? Do we have to worry about if it will catch fire from the flamethrowers, or the discharge of our other weapons? If we're sure it's safe to fire, no pun intended, the Captain and I should be on opposite sides of the group. That way we can open up with the flamethrowers, and not worry about the exhaust inhibiting our ability to hit things.

"AMOSU, can you get a sample of the exhaust to take back with us? The Society might not have a record of it from their exploration of this 'moon,' and if they don't want it I can add it to my collection of things I've huffed on Salvation's End.

Can someone with better eyesight than me check the structural stability of the bridge? If the goblins created it, it may only be strong enough to carry things their size, or it could be trapped.

Oh, AMOSU, can you get a sample of the exhaust to take back with us? The Society might not have a sample of it, and if they don't want it I can add it to my collection of things I've huffed on Salvation's End. Some people say the fumes on this moon could lead to short-term memory loss and other problems, but I never noticed anything like that."

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

"So I'm thinking the 'poison' is the surface with its lack of atmosphere, or some sort of exhaust or other chemicals found on the moon in non-huffable doses. Either way, I'm thinking our armor will protect us enough to go on." Nim turns to Ylga. "Can we receive a blessing from your priest before we are led to the breach the 'orcs' travel through?"

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

"Do you want us to go deal with the . . . 'orcs' that have been harrassing you more as of late? I got the impression from Ylga you had an inkling where they laired, and I think it might be best to deal with them now. I don't like the idea of them finding us and doing hit-and-run tactics on us as we escort your village out of here."

Mom and dad are once again proven idiots, thinks Nim. Mock me for taking a correspondence course in Terran, because it was "worthless." Fools.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

"I have nothing worthwhile to contribute," says Nim in Terran. "But I never actually have gotten to use Terran before, so I figured I'd see if you know it, and would prefer to speak in it."

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Nim moves back five feet, so Faraeon won't be caught in the blast from her flamethrower, and opens up again.

Flamethrower: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

The important thing, thinks Nim, is that I don't have to pay for the ammo I waste with the flamethrower.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

And I'm an idiot who just remembered blast is -2 to the attack roll, and its an attack roll for each target in the cone. So the previous roll should be a 10

Flamethrower Attack #2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Flamethrower Attack #3: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

I'd assumed that given the mention of sounds from the other room I should roll, in the event whatever it was attacked as we entered. Who knew blob creatures were polite and would wait for their meals to enter the room?

Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Nim will move in front of Kiv, between her and the blobs. (if someone could place me there on the map it'd be appreciated, as I'm having issues doing so: probably another sign my phone is dying.). She then opens up with the flamethrower, feeling all of them will be hit in the cone of flame, and the stone construction of the wall meaning the right edge of the cone will just bounce and roll over on the blobs on the right.

Flamethrower: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Acrobatics: 1d20 ⇒ 3

Nim falls face first on the ground. She then gets up and says "You all go ahead of me. I may be here a while"

Please let me know what the Reflex save DC will be to avoid falling. I figured we'd assume she fell this time and worry about the DC later to speed things up.

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

@AMOSU So what I'm hearing here is Nim being covered in oil while a comrade has a flamethrower is like our Pathfinder game years ago, with a certain player always putting me in area of effect of his ice knife. History repeats itself yet again when it comes to AOE elemental attacks.

Nim is thinking about how she'll never get this oil off the armor, and flashes back to her flight suit, currently sitting neatly folded in her dressing room. She's already picturing Zo! doing a camera cut to it sitting there, along with a voice-over commentary that if she had just brought it along she could change and have no mobility issues.

Nim is also wondering if the oil immersion will affect her weapons, and if so the best way to clean them when she's out of this.

Engineering: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24

Female SP: 30/30, HP: 25/25, RP: 3/3 Human EAC:20 KAC: 22, CMD: 30| F +9, R +3, W +5 Soldier 3. Perc + 0, S.M. +1 | Init +6, Move 25 | Str +1, Dex +2, Con +3, Int +1, Wis +0, Cha +0

Nim watches Kiv move into the black ooze, then says "I know I don't usually think before I act, but could someone with a grasp of, you know, science, examine this stuff to see if it's dangerous? Oil, Black Blood of the Earth, that sort of thing?"

Nim realizes that no matter what the answer is, she's going to have to enter it anyway. With a shrug she checks her environmental seals and jumps in.

Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

This is what I get for trying to help, thinks Nim.

Nim is silently cursing the dwarves. When mention had been made of short orcs she thought they might have been referring to the goblins, but Ulga didn't seem to be on the same level as the idiots who have repeatedly mistaken Nim for a Ysoki. Now she finds herself sympathizing with goblins for the first time in her life.

When the group reaches the village Nim will move to the temple and examine it, to either figure out the best way to move the stone or find another weak point that can be made into an access to the temple. She then curses that she still doesn't own an Engineering Kit, inhibiting her ability to evaluate the situation.

Nim waves the team in to talk. "Okay, I was only half-right about what I was thinking, unless 'mining' means 'ripping processed metal out of the walls and smelting it down without question.' Anyway, here's my thought. We lead these folk to where the goblins blew a hole in the floor---their floor, our ceiling, you know what I mean--and from there to the moon's surface." Nim scowls. "Wait, did the moon have an atmosphere? I had my armor on and didn't notice. Alright, if someone can answer me that in a good way we take them outta here and see if getting them to the surface ends their 'Quest for the Sky.' Or they may go crazy, since they don't know they're living in a moon, assuming they're not insane already from living in a mushroom-infested cave. Once that's over we come back and see what these dwarf orcs are about."

Nim thanks AMOSU for offering to translate, and asks for a recap of what was previously said in Aklo. She then asks AMOSU "Can you ask them where they got the wood and metal for their gear, since all we've seen is this fungus forest? I've got two guesses, but I'd like to know their answers."

Nim dons her armor as quickly as she can, making sure the environmental seals are active, then gets the flamethrower's wand in hand. Prior experience has taught her where there's giant, mindless fungus there's giant sentient fungus that thinks she'll make a good spore bed, and she isn't having any of that today.

She also gazes back to see how the folks carrying the ticker do at climbing up.

I managed to cut and paste in my booth text, and forgot to include my other action. Sorry
Nim leaves the booth, removes her armor and puts it in her bag, then climbs up.

Spoiler:
"A lifetime of failure is actually something you get used to," Nim replies almost instantly, as though this a question regularly asked of her. "My parents were hardcore Pharasmites, and so was I for much of my youth.". She gives a smile that is supposed to be reassuring, but fails. "No worries, Zo!, I'm lapsed, so no worries about me crusading against the living-impaired.

"But being a Pharasmite taught me a lot about fate. And my fate is to always make other people look better in comparison to me. Life is a story, and I'm the comic relief sidekick.

"As for this 'Lee,' I have no idea who they are. Probably some sort of fungus-based lifeform. I'm like candy to them, and they are always jealous when they meet a mammalian life form they can't put their spores in."

Nim reloads her pistol, then goes over to examine the dogslicer embedded in the wall, amazed the goblin had the strength to do that. She's also doubling-down on not looking at the video crew, as she's a bit embarrassed she's had her first friendly-fire incident, even if the ghoul seemed blasé about it.

"Thanks," Nim says to Kip as she drops the flamethrower's wand and draws her pistol on the goblin's critter.

"Stay behind me, android," she mutters as she takes aim. She figures she'll have one shot before it's on her, but better her than the 'droid.

First a convenient explosion when things got slow, and now a critter resistant to the weapons Zo! offered. Nim is not happy about these "coincidences."

Nim's first thought is that the goblins have managed to do something stupid. Then she thinks about how the explosion occurred just as she asked about how to proceed. Has Zo! rigged things to spice up the show at dramatic points, or when ratings go down? Is the Second Seeker in on the show being rigged, if it is rigged?

Nim makes sure the environmental seals on her armor are active as she attempts to sneak down the spiral path....

Nim is sad at the Captain's outburst at her honest question, but rationalizes it away as him also being annoyed by this mysterious "LEE," who seems to type continuously. An undead of some sort, not needing to rest. No matter.

She approaches the midden.

"Should those of us with area-effect weapons move to the front, in case we get hit with a goblin wave? Or should our more perceptive folks go first to watch for an ambush?
