Seren keeps moving forward, as she does so she holds forth her holy symbol and calls upon the Blessings of the North Star.
Bit of luck: Stiggur can roll twice and take the better result on all d20 rolls on his next turn.

Saito Ishigo wrote: Sadly, Saito doesn't have much in terms in buffs at level 1. Main buff is increase my weapon to a +1, but I can do that as a swift. Do you have the problem of having to roll well on a bunch of d20s to get off your best attack? If so, Seren can give you a bit of luck when you ask for it.

Sorry, GM. I was going to use the wand to heal Elena after that fight. I was also going to check that Koeuss had used the scroll on Stiggur and do a quick audit of the objects from Janira's bag. Can we quickly slide those things in?

Seren turns the note over in her hands, "It looks like he was undone by his own foul creations. A necromancer, and these undead killed him." Looking over the magical items, she admires the pearl, "This allows a spellcaster to replenish their magical strength. Very useful..." She looks up guiltily at the group, "I mean, can I use it? I really think I could make good use of it but maybe someone else could as well?" With the ring, she furrows her brow, "Sorry, I - I don't know what this does, only that it is enchanted."

Seren bustles into the room, ”Oh, by the Great Dreamer, these poor souls! Trapped between life and death!” The cleric raises her holy symbol high and calls out to Desna, ”Merciful Starsong, grant these poor souls rest!”

”It might just need a simple pantomime of hauling in a big catch.” Seren bows before the altar, Queen of the North Star, help me to understand this fallen faith. and calls out, ”By Aroden’s will.” Then the cleric mimes the act of laying out a net and hauling in fish.

Seren looks at Koeuss, wide-eyed in astonishment, "You can do that? Really? Quick, try it on me. What am I thinking?" what is Seren thinking: Sausage sandwich: when we get back to Absalom, I'm going to have a sausage sandwich...

Elena Endari wrote: You need to either use read magic or spellcraft to decipher the scroll (DC20+spell lvl). If you have the spell on your list, be the right type (arcane/divine version) and have the ability score required you can cast it automatically. Koeuss You have read magic memorised so you can cast that, no need for the spellcraft check.

Seren takes the robe from her pack, folds it and places it beside the gillman's robe. Then she returns to her companions, "He seems to be in some sort of trance or reverie. Perhaps it has religious significance. I wish there were some way to interrogate him without disturbing him."

In Pathfinder, the specific always overrides the general. The PRD is showing the general rule; the PFS guide is showing a specific rule for PFS. Mage armor is on the psychic spell list: Koeuss can cast it. PFS Guide wrote:
Koeuss also has access to first-level spells, so has no need to make a caster level check. CRB wrote: If the user meets all the requirements noted above, and her caster level is at least equal to the spell's caster level, she can automatically activate the spell without a check.

Would someone try spellcraft on the cloak I found at the bottom of the pit? Seren hands Saito the scrolls of gust of wind and obscuring mist, along with the wand of burning hands CL3, 4 charges. She gives Koeuss the scrolls of mage armor CL6 and identify. Saito, you are our high-dex character, do you want any of the thrown equipment: acid vial, alchemist’s fire (x2), holy water, tanglefoot bags (x2) and a thunderstone. She gives a potion of cure light wounds to Elena and another to Stiggur.
Anything left, or turned down, she keeps in Janira's pack.

Seren looks in the bit, casts detect magic and concentrates for at least three rounds.
Unless the results alarm her... Seren climbs down Elena's rope into the pit.
Locates the magic thing.
and climbs out the other side on Stiggur's rope.

Elena is bracing the rope so that we can all climb down and then climb up the other side. She can't brace the rope for herself. When Elena readies for her jump, Seren makes a blessing, "Desna guide your path." GM, bit of luck is supposed to be used before the roll. I hope you will allow it now? If so, Elena gets to roll twice and choose the highest for all d20 rolls that round (jump check and any potential reflex to grab the lip, fort to resist poison etc.).
