Even if it does, it looks like we could probably get at it from the north and not look at the basilisk, right?

Back from my travels, jumping back in! Senja lifts off the ground and flies beside the party as they descend the stairs into the garden. He makes sure to let his friends know where the special armor he's noticed is, as well as where they'll find the extra-robust yellow musk creeper. DM - can you put the creeper and armor on the map? And did my Knowledge check on the creeper tell me anything useful? The result on Knowledge (nature) would be a 24. I moved us on the map a little, just to get us into a bit of an order, but didn't move too far since I didn't know where other things on the map were.

The boards have been awful! Having been away from PbP for a few months, I'm amazed to return and discover that the Paizo site is worse than ever in terms of posting. It's such a mess. Knowing that some of his hexes don't work well on the mindless automata, Senja conjurs a large, shadowy magnet into being, using it to pull one of the tophets off-balance! As the magnet takes effect, Senja takes to the air, flying a short distance away from the anticipated fray. Misfortune hex on red tophet, DC 22 Will save. Senja shakes his head as if awaking from a daydream, and little flecks of shadow seem to scatter around him. "Where are we?" he mutters quietly to himself. "I remember the talking head, and a scuffle or two..." Casting a quick glance around the small room he's standing in, and the platform they're all standing on, he says, "Well, gang, I guess we go east, eh?" He casts his usual protective spell on himself with the wand, and gives a tap to Eva if she wishes, then waits for his burlier friends to lead the way. Cast mage armor. Thanks for the chronicle. I've done a little shopping. I had a fair bit of gold on hand, so I bought First Aid Gloves, Eyes of the Eagle, Upgraded my Ring of Protection to +2 and picked up a second Lesser Persistent Metamagic Rod. Will update my sheet pronto.

Hey all - a thousand apologies for my abrupt disappearance and long absence. I had a pretty bumpy time last fall, went on a three-week raft trip down the Grand Canyon with very high expectations (I had done it once before) and had a very rough, scary trip, which ended with someone dying. I've been pretty shaken up, and let a lot of things go, including the few PbP games I was in. I was lucky enough to get to do another Grand Canyon trip in March, which I did with my older son and some good friends, and had a really wonderful, restorative experience. I've got my head much more together now, and I heard from Feral that y'all would like Senja to return. I'd like that very much. I'll read through the gameplay thread and figure out leveling Senja up. Also sorry to make such a dramatic return, just wanted to give some explanation for vanishing, since it's kind of against my principles to do that in PbP games, especially with so many folks I know.

She's doing much better, Carbide! Thanks very much for asking. I'm back in Boston for a couple of weeks, got here yesterday with my younger son who hasn't seen his grandma in close to two years. She is responding really well to the chemo, has more energy and is cognitively a lot sharper than she was in the depths of pre-treatment cancer. She's about a month into 4.5 months of chemo, so there will still be challenges ahead, but the general trend is very much towards getting stronger and healthier, which is not what I expected a couple of months ago.

Carbide - the head called the painting "the imager" - does it seem like a regular painting or is it more like a sheet of glass with an image on it, or some other oddity? Or has the image changed at all while we've been in the room? Is there a check to better understand the thing?

Nearly done with leveling - took Break Enchantment as my new 5th level spell (can change if Torque already has something equivalent), considering the following for new 4th level: Enervation, Phantasmal Killer, or this one, even though it's not as good as the other two and allows more saves: Masochistic Shadow. My save DC would be 1 higher with the last one, since it's a shadow spell. Thoughts on these options, or other suggestions?

I appreciate the thoughtful review of my list, Asvald, very helpful. I generally concur, but wonder about the conclusion - restoring ability damage is helpful, but Torque can do Lesser Restoration, and has two memorized on his current sheet. Torque - would it be helpful to you if Senja took on the ability damage healing, as far as spells it would free up? If not, I'll take Agony and use it to manage how many foes we need to fight at a given time. Thanks for the gold info, Carbide.

I'll take hex C5 as well. Carbide, can you let us know the GP amount on the chronicle, for shopping purposes? I'll get Senja leveled today or tomorrow. I get to pick my first Major Hex, here's what I'm thinking of: Agony, Ice Tomb, Major Healing, Regenerative Sinew, Retribution. Opinions on any of these, or suggestions for others? Never played a witch at this level.
