Basically, I don't even remotely see how they matter; just have a sorcerer with false focus spam continual light, or have an oracle spam holy water with the robe. Its 5+ a day vs 500+ a day. You don't stop with the slots you have, you stop when there is no time left in the day. Since this makes money, and you can use pearls of power to let you do it more often, you use it to buy more pearls or power so you can cast more spells to make more money to buy more pearls of power.. The only upper limit without the DM stepping in is time in the day.
I agree with both Ipslore the Red and Renen. To let this be done without diminishing returns would be rather silly on the DM's part. Still, silly DMs happen. I thought it best to toss it out here with an easy change to the item that could eliminate it, just in case. Thanks again for all your feedback.

Which feat is that? And does it have the same loop potential?
Hello, I came across an infinite money loop, which is slow to start but potentially substantial. I'd like a second opinion on whether this should be considered an exploit, and a heads up if I'm just rehashing old news. In case it this is new, I have included a suggestion for an errata fix which could eliminate this money loop. This requires access to a Robe of Components (5000g), Two pearls of Power (1st) (2000g), time, and the Bless/Curse Water spell (1st Level Divine Caster such as a Cleric) to begin. This is a looping exploit. This can also be done with Continual Flame to lesser effect by Arcane casters, and Masterwork Transformation to far lesser effect due to casting time. The Robe of Components allows the generation of 50g worth of spell components per day, effectively for free. This can be used to pay for the cost of creating Holy Water (25g) twice in a day, per pair of Robes. Using the Pearls of Power, you can refresh the spells and sell the resulting Holy Water for a 25g profit. If allowed to do this 280 times (A little under a year), you end up making back your initial investment. If you do this 365 times (a year), you end up with 2125g profit. Best of all, it only took you maybe three rounds of your time a day. A modest profit for a year's time. Lets say you'd like to do this more than once. You buy an extra robe, some extra pearls, and do the cycle twice each day with a short wardrobe change. Lets say the wardrobe change takes you five rounds, leaving you under a minute per casting cycle of your magical money water. So 50g a day, not too shabby. Now lets get crazy, have you do this sixty times in an hour, 1500g a day. Lets have you do it eight hours a day, full time crafty,
But wait, that isn't enough money generation per year? You want more? Well, introduce the Leadership feat and have an army of divine followers who assist in this as part of their duties. You'll turn the oceans to magic money water by the time you're done. Potential Errata Fix: Any items created or enhanced using materials from Robes of Components lose their special properties if sold or given away. Thank you for your time in reading this, and any feedback. |
