Oh, and I should probably note this earlier instead of later - I've GM'd Carrion Crown's "Trial of the Beast" and "Wake of the Watcher", but not "Ashes at Dawn".

Having gameplay threads up early is good, if only so they can be dotted and followed more easily. XD Here's Selene's profile.

Important Things To Know About This Character:

-Selene is using a somewhat modified version of the Revenant Bloodletter from Liber Vampyr (free download here at Paizo.com - check the store). She generally lacks vampiric weaknesses, but doesn't have the 'real' vampire powers either (turning into gas, summoning animals, et cetera). I plan to focus her vampiric development on improving her bite and social abilities, but no vampire spawn, familiars, or anything like that. She's not so much a Lord of the Night as she is someone with some freaky blood magic. Any true vampire would probably look down on her... right before she punched them in the face. XD

--At the moment, she does have some very nice sensory powers. Detect Blood is an at-will power, acting as Detect Animals or Plants but focused on creatures with blood. Vampiric Senses gives a pretty big boost to Perception, Sense Motive, and Survival to spot/follow tracks for 1/min level, although it costs a blood point to use. (Blood Points aren't daily - she needs to feed to replenish them.) It seemed like a good choice for a police officer. XD

-I have Background Skills and Automatic Bonus Progression in effect. Between that and Crafting Mastery (her mythic power), she should be pretty much set in terms of gear. I HAVEN'T really spent her wealth. GP rewards and treasure should be roughly halved to accommodate this, unless you really enjoy pouring gold over players. XD

-As mentioned, she has the advanced template (which is almost a necessity in solo games). She has no higher than 18 in any ability before her racial adjustment (+2 Charisma). So... solid overall, but not abnormally high in any area. I am emphatically trying to avoid min-maxing, after all.

-In addition to her three natural attacks, Selene can gain more natural attacks when she transforms. She can also use the Energy Blade talent and the Improved Energy Blade feat as a swift action to add her Destructive Blast's power (2d6, or 3d6 if she spends a spell point) to her next successful attack. This does provoke an AoO unless Selene casts defensively, but I plan to get her the Melee Blaster feat soon, which will let her do this without provoking. Functionally, this is about 1d6/odd level of extra damage, or more when I'm willing to pay the price. So, it's basically a magic Sneak Attack, but only on one hit per-turn. XD

--A notable power of the Revenant Bloodletter is its Bloodlust technique. Basically, she gets an enhancement bonus to Strength when around living stuff that's been hurt... including if she's hurt it. XD That starts as a +2 enhancement bonus (so +1 to accuracy and damage), and scales up at later levels. Being the type of bonus it is, it doesn't stack with a lot of other stat-raising options, so I'll be avoiding those.

-I took drawbacks for some of her Spheres (if you aren't familiar with that yet, it's basically grabbing a weakness in return for an extra talent, and it helps with customizing characters). Most notably, this means she can't use Alteration (transformation), Protection (defense), or Warp (movement) on other people. She's also unable to create undead.

-Feel free to ask me about literally any aspect of the character you want to know more of before the game starts. XD There's probably a lot of abilities here you haven't encountered before (indeed, their rarity is part of what I'm testing!), so I'm happy to explain in as much detail as you'd like.

I'm sort of used to this with the two GMs involved... XD Patience is... much-needed. They'll be back eventually.

In my experience, TSP and RVT's games are just... slow in general, for various reasons. XD; Casual chatting does help, though, and I'm all for that.

Well, good drinks were a wonderful thing, though her companions seemed to be just a bit too worried about the others within the bar. Jasper's words were inherently interesting to her, though, and she did take a glance at the other group as he mentioned a number of war veterans. "I don't remember them." she observed... though, possibly, she was too drunk to recall faces properly.

The young woman laughed quietly as they finally noticed her and sought her attention. Well, that was all right too... and she lightly stepped over, lingering just slightly in the shadows before emerging into the group of her fellow officers. "The ability to drink well is very important for a constable." Selene said, a smile tugging at her lips. Ah, the stories she could tell about that... but she could save those for a better time. Stories were best when told to a bigger crowd.

Selene smiled as she watched the others enjoying themselves, continuing to enjoy her favorite drink as she did so. Happy conversations, and especially laughter, were one of the best backdrops for any drink - joy could be quite contagious, after all, and she certainly preferred to enjoy her time off-duty as much as she could.

Casually, almost cheerfully, a young(?) woman drifted into the tavern, taking her favorite seat at the bar and grinning widely. It had been open, of course. It was always open - she'd taken the advice of one of her superiors and worked to create an image that other people could relate to. Her usual drink was delivered a moment later, and she promptly paid the bill - which, of course, was just another part of the show. It wouldn't do to let anyone think she couldn't immediately pay, after all, especially when she so enjoyed the rich red liquid. Still, there seemed to be quite a few of her co-workers here today... which wasn't a bad thing. Getting to know each other in their time off was a good way to improve cooperation while on the job, and she was always in favor of that. For now, though... perhaps she'd simply watch. She still had a drink to enjoy.

Selene would respect people who use official methods to try and get things done - especially those who advance sensible arguments on why things ought to be done in a particular way, combining public and private interest. She is... less forgiving... of people who turn to crime in order to get what they want, or who abuse the system - I figure she has a strong admiration for the Executores Dola Liberta in Ber.

That said, she does lean towards "Ends" instead of "Means". For her, getting the job done is the most important part - but she does recognize that some means are better in the long-term than others.

Speaking of means and ends, the player's guide recommended that the group talk about the use of torture in interrogations. How do the rest of you feel about it?

(Selene opposes it, mostly because she sees it as wasteful and unlikely to produce accurate results - people would say anything to get free. She prefers to charm her way into getting information, and will actually have a few abilities supporting that.)

Correct - tech issues are the problem, but they will get resolved eventually. XD Be patient and enjoy other games in the meantime!

Or we could cooperate more on the group's backstory and how they relate, so we'll all be on the same page once we do begin. ^^

We are supposed to work for the RHC, right? I'm going to go out on a limb here, but we probably get paid enough to at least have a nice apartment somewhere unless we specifically prefer the great outdoors. Which we might. XD

That's probably a good idea. ^^ Let's see... I think Selene would have joined the RHC pretty much right after the close of the war - she was more than capable of getting things done, after all, and why let a good hero go to waste when you could use them to drum up public support instead? Accordingly, my character might not know anyone else from before joining, or in a social way - though, if we're all members of the RHC, we can probably figure out our respective roles within the organization without too much trouble...
