Under normal conditions, given our attack modifiers, the optimal setup is for Seldszar to fire the torpedo and Stel to take the coilgun—since Seld has the higher bonus and the torpedo deals better average damage. If Dirk can successfully execute the Science Officer “Lock On” action, that will grant both gunners a +2 to hit the enemy shi. Seldszar could use the “Fire at Will” gunner action, which allows him to fire two weapons regardless of arc—for example, the forward-facing lasers and another weapon, However, this comes with a -4 penalty to both attacks. That’s a big penalty, but if Kirk can jag us another +2 bonus, I’d be willing to take the gamble and go for both shots. If Kirk doesn’t land the modifier, we’re better off sticking with Seldszar on the torpedo and Stel on the port Coilgun. Either way, at least the DC seems reasonable to jag us a bonus, we need to get more hits on that ship. No point doing repairs at this stage
