Seidr sighs.

"That is a good point. As capable as we may be, I'm sure taking on the Queen in some way is a big order."

Seidr peers down at the human during his explanation and smiled at him.

"Thank you for helping explain to me, small one."

Though she could sense the condescension in the human's voice, she decided to remain civil with him. Her command of the common tongue left some to be desired and she anticipated the judgment.

She continued to await the Shadowborne's next words.

Seidr strains as she listens to the Mojh speak. He was talking fairly quickly and erratically and it would be obvious to anyone watching that Seidr was doing her best to translate what he was saying in her head as he was saying it.

"You speak quickly for me, friend. Do you mean to tell us that there was a dragon queen of this city who seemed to like the growth of the dragons but she was defeated by other dragons here?"

Seidr paused for a moment, thinking hard. "Dragons are seen as gods also? Except for in this city? Nechápu."

Giant for "I don't understand."

Seidr stands.

Seidr stretches her muscles. Things were typically decided in her town bu the elders with the most expertise in their field or by those who'd endured the hardship. It was strange to her that she was being confronted by someone about something neither of them were responsible for. She was read to meet with the Shaowb9rbe nonetheless.

"Lead the way, small one."

Seidr smiles when the dracha speaks to her.

"I am sorry, friends. The food that this man cooks is delicious. Beyond that, I do not know."

Seidr is sitting and leaning against a wall with her legs up in front of her, though even sitting her head is close to four feet from the ground.

"I did not taste. Music is my love."

Glo-la, or Seidr as she was called before officially choosing her actual name, is a tall and stout, woman from a very obvious tribal background. She is a beautiful woman with an unsettling quality that's tough to place about her appearance. She has intricate black tribal tattoos depicting dragons and giants on her arms, back, and belly. While she lacks these tattoos on her head and face, she often puts some sort of black warpaint on her face.

She easily stands eight feet tall and looks to weigh around 400 lbs. She is obviously incredibly strong and she has an air of confidence that's almost mysterious in nature. Her hair is long and jet black, in stark contrast to her fair skin.

Picture

Seidr personality up until this point has been warm and friendly, comfortably willing to take on a leader role within the party but willing to step back when others have something to say or do.

First impressions of Seidr might lead others to believe that she isn't well educated, and they'd be right, but she speaks in such a way that you might feel like there's something she sees about the world that others don't.

"Oh. Yes, it is warm here. I am used to the chill of my mountain home." she speaks like Giant is her native tongue and common was learned later in life.

Seidr has Meek Facade implanted on herself and Fearsome Guise on Johnny.

I had communicated with you via PM but I'm officially checking in here now as well. Just awaiting some feedback before I write out my backstory formally.

My mechanics should be good to go, however.

The words I decided on were:

Sense Magic
Soothing Touch

1st:
Spook
Wrack
Simple Order
Fog Bank

2nd:
Paralyze Humanoid
Undeath
Enhance Form

Five 6s in a single set of 5?! That's a 1 in almost 8,000 chance. I've never seen something like that before (though I've seen a few sets of three 20s in a row and I was unfortunate enough to roll four 1s in a row on one occasion).

A shame two of them were redundant. When we played in high school, we had a rule about rolling stats (4d6 drop lowest) that if all four landed the same number, it would be an 18 and if all four landed a 6, it was a base 20. Only ever happened once though.

Anyway, I digress. I'll have a tentative Words Known list and I'll check it against whatever you come up with, DM!

There is decidedly no Mesmerist word list. Is it safe to assume that it would basically be the same as the bard? I know they're quite a bit different but most of what I'd planned on taking were fear, compulsion, mind-effecting stuff.

Which reminds me, what are the odds the game will be heavy with undead, constructs, and stuff like that?

From the reading I've done so far, I have to agree with the tick. It makes my story of a barbarian tribe almost of giants isolated in the mountains make more sense and really presents some drama into the story right out of the gate for not only me but the party as a whole. Overall, pro-dragon seems to be the most interesting narrative route.

That's fair. I'm definitely at a stage where I could go either way. Dragon shaman barbarian sounds particularly cool now that I think of it.

I would like to try out the spell point system just because I've used Words of Power before but I would be happy either way. Casting actual spells is more of a hobby for my character. Ha.

Edit: I also think I'm going to change my character to being a woman since I've been running down this rabbit hole of viking culture. A woman psychic shaman type warrior from the mountains sounds pretty cool. Maybe a group that doesn't like the dragons for trying to tell their people what to do?

Well we'd definitely differ then as far as tanks. If I stay settled on my current ability score layout, I only have 10 dex. I invested in health and DR instead of AC since I'm taking In Harm's Way so I can redirect attacks into me. I'm also using Guardian to absorb damage and give me fast healing.

The extent of planning I've done past that so far though is picking up Perfect Clarity and Mad Magic next level. And Mask Misery.

Some of my selections may be subject to change depending on what might be a little more useful for the party though.

For if it matters to your build (or anyone else's), my character has ended up taking on a tank role. My main goals in combat are debilitating the enemy, protecting allies from damage by boosting their AC and redirecting attacks at me, and... well, doing what barbarians do best: hit it real hard. Outside of combat, I'm a capable party face and a decent survivalist.

I'm a barbarian/mesmerist and I'm going down the Guardian mythic path.

I'm thinking I'd like for my character to be from a city of giants in the mountains somewhere, perhaps an aspiring occult shaman for his people before adventure came calling.

I'm working on this profile. Im almost finished choosing everything for my crunch. Then to work on fluff.
