Scarab Sages

Why have I never used a GM Reference Thread in the passed 1.5 years I've run Jade Regent?!

Anyway my group is about to finish the fight in Seinaru Heikiko tomorrow then they will be doing the sandbox exploration of Minkai. One of the PCs has a personal history to settle with Sikutsu Sennaka and will likely push the group to resolve Part 4 first.

As far as I can tell the assistance from Sennaka's brother, Itsuru, only comes after a meeting with him and O-Sayumi. If the group hasn't met and helped O-Sayumi yet, is there a feasible way to get a meeting with a high ranking samurai like Itsuru?

Knowing my group of players they really might try a direct assault on Sennaka and his hundred samurai army! They really did just storm the front gate at Seinaru Heikiko fortress...

I expect 2 characters to drop and likely die as the fight continues tomorrow.

Thank you for any help.

I've been running maptools for the past 9 months with my mixed group of remote and local players. It is a great alternative to taking the time to draw on a battle mat and doesn't require costly tokens. Taking the images of the maps from the pathfinder society scenario PDF makes putting the background in MT super easy.

For the remote player we uses Skype, but free Skype only allows two way video chat. To get multiple people chatting I've used another program, Oovoo, which is alright, but preferred Google hangout the one time I used it.

For auditing characters, request a digital copy of their character sheet in advance (either google spreadsheet, or character sheet uploaded to an image hosting site etc.) then simply check the info on the SRD cross referenced to the PFS additional resources information. Heck, that's what I am doing with my local players.

I'm trying to figure out how to handle chronicle sheets for remote players also, I actually found your post by searching that haha. I'm leaning to saving the chronicle sheet as an image, then adding the pertinent information including my initials, saving as a PDF and emailing to the players. I would accept that as valid chronicle sheets as a DM.

I'm playing a rogue with the charlatan archetype and improved feint. The level 1 ability "Natural Born Liar" states, "At 1st level, when a charlatan successfully deceives a creature with a Bluff, that creature takes a –2 penalty on the charlatan’s Bluff checks for the next 24 hours. This ability does not stack with itself."

Does feinting an opponent count as "successfully deceiving" as described in the rule? The bluff skill doesn't describe feinting in much detail, but it does have this written under "action:"

"Deceive Someone: Attempting to deceive someone takes at least 1 round, but can possibly take longer if the lie is elaborate (as determined by the GM on a case-by-case basis).
Feint in Combat: Feinting in combat is a standard action."

Does that mean "feint" is not "deceiving someone?"

I searched for an answer to this, but all I found was this thread here. Most of the posts are about how the original poster misspelled "rogue" and didn't answer the question.
