So... Rivals.

Surprisingly a lot of content for an LO book.

Somehow even less Wizard content than even I thought there would be.

They got two uncommon schools, that have the same problems as the previous ones, and a rare archetype, and that's it. The monk got more stuff

I mean, we know it contains a class archetype that exclusively for the wizard, so to say it has no wizard feats is misleading.

But I don't find it that surprising that it doesn't include additional, more generic wizard feats. Adding more schools is already a "1 class only benefit" feature for a book to dive into, and one that is probably much more important to address, as it is where I think most of the remaster wizard frustration is coming from. The remaster did add a number of new feats for the wizard and many of those are very good.

It is a rare archetype though, its accessibility is limited

I agree, by making spells not scaled based on caster level the old vancian system has been made not only weaker but also extremely cumbersome in a way that is not fun.

Anyway I don't understand why wizards don't have access to their entire spell list like other prepared casters, it made sense in the old editions when the arcane one was the most powerful, but now they are all equal in strength

Do you think Rival Academies will add some interesting options for wizards? or will it just add some new schools, and spells shared between multiple lists

More unique wizard feats, the current ones are horrible and if you don't want to take an archetype you end up always taking the same ones, making the class boring and lacking variety

So... Witch wasn't the weakest class previously?
Now the weakest class is the wizard
Extremely and absurdly wrong lmfao

The class wasn't in a good state even before the remaster, but now with all the buffs that the other classes received, while the wizard actually received a nerf with the removal of the schools, is objectively the weakest caster

wizard just seem nerfed, and it wasn't that strong of a class to begin with. not what I expected honestly

Are there archetypes that have received support after the book in which they were initially released?
Red Mantis Assassin, Hell Knight Armiger, Last Wall Sentry, Magaambyan Attendant, and Pathfinder Agent have all received additional support in books after the one in which they were first released. I may be missing one or two others. It's pretty reasonable to expect that list to grow as more products are produced; one of the benefits to modular archetypes like the ones in PF2 is being able to continuously update them in new products with additional options, rather than having them stagnate when a new book needs "that thing but slightly more specific/detailed".

Is there anything like this in SoM or non-archetype enhancements for existing classes? Like additional feats or focus spells for wizards?

Also is there any chance of a spell sniper archtype on the horizon? Specifically looking to help build a dedicated single target blaster and options are kinda limited for that.

Only Druids and Monks have non-archetype feats and options in the Elemental Magic session of the book because they didn't have the Elemental circle complete.

Druid will gain a Fire, Water and Earth order to complete their Plant and Air (Storm).

And Monk will gain the Fire and Water stuff to complete their Air (Wild winds stance), Plant (Tangled Forest) and Earth (Mountain Stance)

That was mentioned in the paizocon stream.

Man this sucks, the wizard really needs more interesting feats
