I think I'll take Shardra the shaman.

Dotting. I'll be just about any character we need.

Lol OK. I might try getting the oracle set up tonight to swap if we aren't too far in at that point.

Does this guy count as threatened right now when considering the charm person spell?

Power to you, Andrew!

Did Jenny's attack connect with eastern spider?

-Posted with Wayfinder

missed that before! Thanks

-Posted with Wayfinder

Rick you might be able to bring Cott that day too

-Posted with Wayfinder

I definitely am. Sounds cool and I'll look into it. Thanks, Andrew!

-Posted with Wayfinder

Thanks Andrew! I thought Jenny had 17 Dex so only got a plus 3.

-Posted with Wayfinder

That's still 10/11. Cott! Tell me your ways!

-Posted with Wayfinder

Ahh

-Posted with Wayfinder

How is Jenny's attack plus 11 right now?! That's insane! 1 each for strength, size, magic talons, bard. 2 for BAB and flanking. Where do the other 3 come from?

Uhhhh oh. I'm gonna go boom. ..

Thanks-i pulled it off of one of the online character builders. I'll make the change in a bit.

Khakil uses a charge of his wand to close some more wounds.

CLW wand on Khakil: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

He continues his epic: "His strike true - no time to think,/ and none could match him in the drink."

And thanks for looking into all this! I know it's a hard subject to nail down on the boards.

Apologies, I never meant to imply that the mount would have the ride-by feat, but rather the rider. I wouldn't be able to even use this ability until level 3, but I like planning ahead.

That link you just sent says that both the creatures are considered charging, so I'm still a bit skeptical on whether or not one of them attacking cancels the other's ability when the rider has the ride-by attack feat, but I'll defer to your call. I do agree if they had the same reach it would simplify things greatly.

The pony still has the double hoof attack that it could use in the same instance. It also doesn't change size so a small character wouldn't have to change mounts (doesn't really matter for a beast rider, though.) It also has a 4th level advancement that the wolf doesn't, which also includes free combat training (the latter being pointless for a cavalier.)

I'm also reading the beast rider text again, and towards the bottom it says that a mount can't have fewer than 4 legs. .. what the hell does that mean when they just named a bunch of bipedal dinosaurs right above? !

Also I need to prep a new scenario in the level 2ish range. Any one in particular that you think I should buy and Nicole can get credit for playing?

So I'm rereading all these mount related feats, and I don't think that spring attack is what I actually need to get my mount to attack the same round. I say this because both charge and spring attack are full round actions, so they can't be used during the same round.

Spring Attack
As a full-round action, you can move up to your speed and make a single melee attack without provoking any attacks of opportunity from the target of your attack. You can move both before and after the attack, but you must move at least 10 feet before the attack and the total distance that you move cannot be greater than your speed. You cannot use this ability to attack a foe that is adjacent to you at the start of your turn.

I think the main point of this feat is that unlike charge with ride by attack, this type of attack let's you change directions at any point in time. You pretty much spring at the target directly or however you want, attack, then you can move away from the target in any direction.

Ride-by Attack
When you are mounted and use the charge action, you may move and attack as if with a standard charge and then move again (continuing the straight line of the charge). Your total movement for the round can't exceed double your mounted speed. You and your mount do not provoke an attack of opportunity from the opponent that you attack.

Are you sure this isn't all I need to accomplish my goal? Here it says the charge continues after my attack, so since my wolf would still have its attack opportunity, why wouldn't he be able to use it?

My bad! I'll fix that as well when I get home.

Whoops, I hastily added spring attack after our discussion on charging. I'll have to change that to something else. I guess there's no way to do a reach charge attack AND have my mount attack in the same round at this point in time.

Eclipse doesn't have light armor efficiency. That gets replaced by endurance for beast masters.

Khakil ascends the steps into the sphinx with an air of confidence.

Oh come on. Wayfinder or the website can give preview of rolls and keeps the same number when it posts.

"Honey, that's what I live for."

True.

It doesn't look like I can do anything except view the map on mobile.

I'll try to at least get marching orders from Cory, but failing that should Gaidal just stand out in the open all dumbfounded?

-Posted with Wayfinder

For some reason I can't choose khakil on the Wayfinder app.

Testing
*breaker breaker*

Ok, I think I'm all set and ready to go with Khakil.
