Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

Sarianne nods wearing a sour expression, and after Ymril's question has been answered addresses the group with her usual exasperated tones,

"Well lucky us, hey? Lets take a look at this mess first before conducting any interviews, perhaps we can find something that will help us trip the culprit up."

Heading over to the wagon once their conversation with Almah Roveshki is concluded she examines the wagon in exhaustive detail, looking in particular for the cause of the fire.

After her mundane search she casts detect magic and scans the wagon for any signs of magical activity.

Takes 20 on Perception for a 24, or 25 for traps.

"Busy body goddess, gets everywhere, I ask you Vedic, what good is it for a cat burglar to be an oracle of the goddess of sunlight and honesty? I keep telling you I'm not reforming!" Sarianne moans, directing the last plaintively to the heavens.

Sarianne gives Vedic a level look as she intones with mock piety,

"I must show the world Sarenrae's bounty, must I not?"

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

"Sure I can," says Sarianne winking at the child even as she dumps two gallons of water over him, "I am an oracle of Sarenrae afterall."

Turning to the big man she shrugs and makes to follow in his wake.

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

Agreed, but there is also this version, which is what threw me.

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

Seems to fit thematically, I was just surprised because the PFSRD version is Druid only.

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

Isn't drench 3rd party and druid only?

Edit: Ah, I see..

On May 24, 2011 Paizo posted a series of cantrips on the Paizo Blog. These cantrips were left out of the book Ultimate Magic for various reasons. These are not "official" and are not supported by Paizo. Consult with your GM to see if he or she will allow any of these in his or her campaign.

The following spells are different from standard cantrips. They are rare cantrips. Spellcasters that gain access to all 0-level spells at 1st level do not gain access to rare cantrips. A spellcaster gains access to rare cantrips only by uncovering their secrets in some other way. Some are guarded by jealous mages, while others are lost in missing libraries or molder on forgotten scrolls.

These cantrips are not legal in Pathfinder Society play. Note that penumbra was changed into the higher-level spell protective penumbra. The cantrip version is similar, but does not replace its higher-level counterpart.

Sarianne mutters darkly to herself as she strides forward and snaps,

"Nugretaw!" Gesturing dismissively, as two gallons of water pours down upon the fire. She stands there doing this repeatedly until the flames abate.

Uses Create Water, choosing the downpour option.

Sarianne rises bothers Vedic for a presitidigitation, and at the first opportunity flits into the wagons to find a nice secluded hiding place to avoid the sun and any work that might come her way.

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

Sarianne has spent the majority of the journey hiding amidst the supplies to avoid walking and the relentless sun, and she certainly hasn't been a bit of help with lifting or caring for the camels. In her mind she has made a sterling contribution by not robbing everybody in the caravan blind, thank you very much. Of course she also uses her create water cantrip a great deal to keep the travelers and animals from bleating too much, but thats just common sense.

When it comes time to bed down she settles for a spot under the shade of the caravan, shaking her head as she watches Vedic being mad with his books, Grune sleeping next to a naked greatsword, and Ymril playing in the sand. Well I suppose somebody needs to look after these rubes while we find Haleen, and there's only muggins about, honestly its a wonder they can dress themselves.

Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23

Sarianne is one of those people who likes to come across as cynical and tough, but is really a lot nicer than she wishes to let on. She would get very uncomfortable actually saying she loved someone, but would still bring them chicken soup when they were ill and steal them the perfect birthday present. She claims to hate her birth mother and her goody goody ways, but obviously has a lot of the same tendencies how ever much she fights them. She went cold and distant for a while after her mother and father died and it was only when she began to have problems caused by her curse - having been a great liar and suddenly finding breaking her word made her want to vomit - that she was forced to seek help from Haleen again and came back into the fold.

I've aged her down a bit to 23, halflings take a little longer to reach adulthood than humans so she'd be a sort of little big sister to most of the group. I'd imagine she'd look upon Vedic with something like quiet exasperation :)

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

I just need to add the finding Haleen trait and then my crunch is ready.

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

I figure that you lot would be part of the bad crowd Sarianne got involved with. Essentially she would hang out a great deal when her parents were out adventuring and Haleen defended her when she got into trouble with various gangs, maybe fenced a little for her. Once her parents died she was around even more and Haleen helped her figure out her curse and deal with some of its consequences.

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

No problem, are you adjusting them at all? Currently Finding Haleen seems to be by far the best, it seems to be better than two feats, let alone 1. Its basically skilled and toughness that stack with skilled and toughness!

Female Halfling Oracle of the Heavens (Seeker) 1

Okay so I'm going with a halfling Oracle of the Heavens, and taking the Seeker archetype - which essentially gives me trap finding. 1st level will be pretty tough, but once I hit second and get Color Spray things will become much easier. I've still got a little tweeking to do, and need to swap out a trait to make room for a campaign one - she has 4 having taken Additional Traits.

How flexible are you with traits Math Pro, must they be as written or is there some flexibility? For example can I take Eyes and Ears of the City, which grants perception as a class skill if I type up a bit of suitable fluff, or do I need to be a follower of Abadar who has served in the watch? At a pinch I can always simply take skill focus stealth instead of extra traits.

Also does the Legacy of Fire trait need to be a Campaign trait? Or simply a trait from the player's guide? I think I can make her fit into the Campaign pretty easily, she'll simply have made an unwise promise to someone and as breaking her word makes her physically nauseous - legalistic curse - she'll have little choice. She sort of worships Sarenae which works well here.

Congrats Mirela, good luck with the game folks :)

I've tried to tailor Sarianne's background to open up easy entry into the game - if selected of course. She promised a crying child she came across that she would help him, and he said the only help he needed was in avenging his parents, so now her curse is "forcing" her to seek out the orcs and goblins responsible. I can easily rewrite if that's not appropriate.

You show us how its done and we'll be right behind you ;)

Appearance:
A beautiful little halfling whose hair is a blazing red carefully structured into a bizarre, yet oddly appealing, display. Sari has a mischevious grin, a smattering of freckles and a cute turned up nose which are at odds with her dirty laugh and worldly demeanor.

Background:

Sari was born with all the advantages a good hearted law abiding halfling could want - unfortunately she was not born particularly good hearted, and she certainly wasn't law abiding! Her parents were favored servants of Sarenrae dedicated and content with their role as divine servants risking their lives in the service of the Dawnflower. Although she loved her parents Sari also hated them, thinking them sanctimonious idiots she wanted to look after number one, have a little danger, and a little fun! Happily her parents traveled a great deal on various quests to serve their goddess and Sari had plenty of opportunity to seek out a bad crowd and get thoroughly involved with them.

She became a skilled little burglar, and would probably have become very successful. But then her parents died, and to Sari's great annoyance Sarenrae decided to heed their prayers and take their wayward daughter in hand. Suddenly she found that even the thought of breaking her word made her queasy, and actually breaking it was a messy and unpleasant process, technically possible, but necessitating far too much misery. Her peers quickly found out about her affliction and began to exploit it and she was forced to flee. On the road she found that Sarenrae had blessed her with a strange gift, a connection to the heavens and magic. She traveled as a locksmith and healer, earning coin and refining ways of getting around Sarenrae's curse so she could go back to lining her own pockets.

Eventually she found herself near Lake Encarthan, where she made a terrible mistake. She promised a crying boy she found wandering on the roadside, that she would help him, and he told her all he wanted was revenge upon the greenskins that killed his parents. Now she finds herself cursing her foolishness while she watches a group of orcs and goblins, who seem to be getting on like a house on fire, from hiding. She has no idea how she is going to get revenge for the poor lad and his murdered family, but she really doesn't want to spend the next day vomiting, and that annoying little voice in her, that always sounds like her mother, is being pretty insistent she do something to...

Okay here is the crunch minus equipment for Sarianne, my Halfling Oracle of the Heavens. I'm using the halfling alternate racial trait fleet of foot, so she has a 30ft. move speed if that's okay?

She is a Seeker, which essentially gives her trapfinding, the ability to disarm magical traps as well as a half level bonus.

I've taken the additional traits feat and so have four traits, among these are Eyes and Ears of the City and Conspiracy Hunter. I would need to reflavor Eyes and Ears of the City, though I feel it fits the character pretty well, and Conspiracy Hunter fits as is, but is a Council of Thieves campaign trait. Is that acceptable? I wanted perception, and stealth as class skills.

Essentially she is an stealthy healer who can disable traps and ought to be able to cover a bit of the arcanists shtick with her Heaven's mystery.

For my revelation you will all be shocked to hear I've selected Dazzling Display ;)

She's a friendly shameless little lass whose budding criminal career has been thwarted by the fact that breaking her word makes her physically sick - legalistic curse.

Her mother was an oracle of Sarenrae, of more conventional bent, who was killed adventuring when she was young, Sarianne had already become a fairly skilled little criminal in all her mothers absences and would certainly have taken to a life of crime had she not suddenly started barfing everytime she tried to go back on her word. Instead she has become a traveling healer and locksmith and is acquiring an annoyingly wholesome reputation. She is rather resentful of her deity and tends to speak about the goddess like an overbearing parent.

I'll type up background, etc., in more detail tonight, but hopefully this gives you a solid idea of the character. I'm a reliable and very posty player.
