female human Sorcerer/2

"So, may we finish our breakfast and meet you at your office? Or are your needs more immediate?"

Sari frantically searches her gray matter to see if a companion may have done the unexpected when she wasn't looking.

female human Sorcerer/2

Nice catch on Eberk's stuff.

So, this was a lovely way to pass some time, but where does it leave us? Any ideas? Are we waiting for Shal? Anyone?

female human Sorcerer/2

Diplomacy roll 3 + 18 = 21. I'm not intending to be rude, just trying to show that I'm a little fed up.

"I'm not sure about all this political maneuvering. I realize the town has been ravaged, and let's not forget we have lost a friend. I'm sure Kendra can look out for herself better than we can here, so I don't feel we really need to have any say in the matter. I feel the immediate threat has been dealt with. However, I'm sure we'll know more for sure when Shal gets back. In the mean time we need to decide what comes next for us. Are we up to digging farther into this mess? Do we think this plot goes farther?" Sari is trying her bestest to be deferential and not tick off anyone. She adds a fetching smile to the end of her speech.

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari is very sensitive to people playing games with her. She listens really hard between the lines that are spoken.

sense motive roll of 9 + 2 for an 11. Well, at least she looks like she's trying to discern motive. Maybe she just has gas....

female human Sorcerer/2

"Please give my thanks to your wife for a lovely evening."

On the way back to the inn after dinner.....
"What was up with that guy? I think I need a hot bath! Did anyone else feel like Larson just wanted to slice up the next person all in the name of his "order"? I appreciate the money and all, but I'm not sure it was worth it. Seems to me like this is going to come back and bite us on the hindquarters."

She pauses in her tirade. "So, any ideas about where to go from here? It seems to me a trip to Magnimar might just be in order?"

female human Sorcerer/2

Stained? Did you just call me stained? Don't make me unleash the half-orc on you!

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari has taken a dislike to this man. She doesn't like overbearing bores...that's her job, exclusively.

"It seems to me, you are intending to say you bring force to bear in situations that you deem need it. I'm sure the mayor invited you in, but as you have heard, we have dealt with the threat against this town, and at great cost. With the help of Shal and the local garrison, it seems we have taken care of the immediate threat to Sandpointe, without your 'orders' help." She takes a drink to try to quench her indignant ramblings and continues. "It would seem, sir, that you have arrived too late. I for one, can't see a reason for your 'services' any longer. And as for reliving recent events and torture, those are things I choose not to participate in."

Sari blushes furiously at her outburst. And turns to the Mrs. Scarnetti. "Please forgive me, it seems that the last week has taken a toll on my manners."

Sari takes a swig of wine, and entertains herself by thinking of yucky things to do to the "enforcer".

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari sits and listens with rapt attention. She quietly marvels to herself that the wild man is so well spoken. She looks forward to a good meal, no matter what the reasons for it. She muses that she doesn't much like the looks of Larson. A might bit, well, greasy.

I'll be hoping that everyone at the Scarnetti's holds down their food better than we have been here. Rough week....

female human Sorcerer/2

Quick, before they take the message boards down again!

Sari can't wait to dress up in the beautiful new gown. Her rapier wit and her magic is what she will arm herself with for this dinner. "It's nice to see the boys trying to be more civilized. Now, just as long as we don't have too many forks to deal with, this dinner should be interesting."

female human Sorcerer/2

Only a wild man would sell that blue silk gown. Sari would like to keep it. As well, if no one is using the bracers of armor, I would like them. A keeper on the scrolls we found, as well. I'd also like 2 healing potions. Other than that, unless there is a place in town where I can buy a few more character levels, I'm good! Is there any interest in getting better prices elsewhere on some of the more exotic items? Not that I care too awful much. I'd just as soon be all done with inventory management for the time. It is soooo not my thing.

Sari can be found at the inn, working on a song in Eberk's honor.

Oh, Eberk the Dwarf was brave;
My lovely arse he did save!
He loved a good fight and a pint or two;
With his axe he did smash a goblin or too!

Sari trails off. "Well, it's not much. I'm sure Eberk would have done better."

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari can be found at the inn directing the preparations for a remembrance party for Eberk. There will be much food, drink, and singing in our fallen friend's honor this evening.

I really don't need much of anything in town. I think we should bother Father Zanthas and stock up on healing potions. As well, there are some scrolls that are interesting to me, however, I will bow to the need for equipment before scrolls. Check out numbers 27, 35, and 44 on the map to see a list of scrolls that are available.

Spoiler:
Sari smiles at her aunt. The cards only seem to reinforce the restlessness of the moment. "Thank you Aunt Niska. It seems I have much to think about. As to learning the harrow myself, I seem to be much to impatient to wait for the wisdom of the cards to become clear." Sari laughs, half to herself, "Although, you probably knew that already!" As Sari prepares to take her leave, she kisses her aunt on the cheek. "Thank you, aunt. It seems you aren't as crazy as the family has made you seem over the years. I hope I may visit again? In the mean time, I will return to the inn to think on what you have said and await the return of my friends." A sad thought hits Sari, "We still have one we have yet mourned properly."

Sari returns to the inn, and requests much food and ale be prepared in honor of her dwarf friend. She thinks to herself, "We shall sing and drink to honor his memory. He would have liked that."

female human Sorcerer/2

DM

Spoiler:
Sari sighs at the question. She is unsure what she seeks. Maybe she just needs some sleep. However, the words seem to fall out on their own accord....."I seek direction. I miss my family but know that life is not for me; not yet. All the killing and the anger and the stress of battle, it wearies the spirit so. Is this what I am meant to do? Wander the earth with rough men determined to smash it, or break it, or kill it?" For a brief moment her thoughts stray to Cha.....she shakes the images off and continues. "What now Aunt Niska? I have battled for the town, and while it may seem like a noble thing to do, I have to say, even if just to you, I was frightened. Not just of the battle, but of what I did during it. Is this what I'm to do? Wander the countryside looking for trouble to interfere in?" Sari suddenly stops and seems to deflate. "Listen to me, carrying on like a petulant child that has been denied a sweet! I will go where it is willed that I go." She draws a deep breath and says, "And where might that be? What do the cards say, Aunt?"

female human Sorcerer/2

"I think she has said all she can. I'm done with her and her attitude. Do with her what you will." Sari leaves the room. She feels weary and wants to see her family...maybe a visit to the crazy aunt is in order.

female human Sorcerer/2

"Trust me, it doesn't pay to make the wild man angry."

female human Sorcerer/2

Is this like a Vulcan mind meld? Or do I get extra points if she swings my way....anyhoo, my roll is a 3+2 for a whopping 5. Nice, real nice.

female human Sorcerer/2

I have rolled a 17 for some kind of charisma check. Trouble is, I can't find my sheet so I don't know what skill I have for this and what the modifier is. I know I have something because I've helped Cha out of sticky situations before.

Sari directs a pointed look in the direction of the menfolk.

"Why don't you men back off? It seems obvious to me that we don't have the whole story here, and we may have acted in haste. Lyrie, this is your opportunity to tells us your side of what happened, instead of us just relying on Orik's story. We are all upset about what has occurred in our town and are just looking for answers. Maybe you have some for us?"

I'm going for the whole 'girl-power-we-just-need-to-join-against-the-men' thing. Let's see if she bites.

female human Sorcerer/2

So, it sounds to me like everyone is okay with the party the way it is, for now. Me, I think a party should have WAY more margarita than this one does.

female human Sorcerer/2

"So, it sounds to me like we have little answers after all is said and done. It seems that we could take a few days and still be vigilant regarding the goblins. Maybe Shal could track around and find out some more information after some rest."

"And regarding the sinspawn generator, I am uncomfortable leaving it alone. I feel strongly that we should find some way to negate its magic. If we can't find the answer ourselves, maybe someone outside of Sandpoint would have advice."

As to another character joining in....I'm not certain it would work for one of us to run another character; it's too hard to not cheat that way. I'm all for hiring a henchman, if we think we need one, or even soliciting for another player on the message boards.

female human Sorcerer/2

So, are we thinking because Nualia's influence is gone, that the goblin threat on the town might be as well?

Does anyone have a clue as to how to drain the runewell so no more sinspawn can be created?

It seems there might be answers for us in Magnimar if we care to look.

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari takes that hour to do a quick wash and suggests the others 'freshen-up" as well. She thinks about all the attacks and is very confused. What could be so important in Sandpoint that would cause all this organization? What exactly was Nualia after? She ponders all this on the way back to the meeting. Hopefully someone will have some answers about something, and soon.

female human Sorcerer/2

Wow, in this forum you guys really can keep up your end of the conversation!! No excuses for me...I've been slacking. However, with that said, seems you guys have covered all the bases. I am leveled up and ready to get the hell out of this stinky place.

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari launches another missile at Nualia. Luke rolled a 3 for me for a total of 4 points of damage. I have 31 charges left on the wand.

female human Sorcerer/2

On my next turn, I have Sari stand her ground and use another missile from the wand. There should be 32 left. It is sent toward Nualia for 3+1 points of damage. Next...

female human Sorcerer/2

"I told you there was bad stuff down here. Damn, b%%+% you are ugly!"

I send a magic missile from the wand her way. I rolled a 4 for a total of 5 points of damage.

female human Sorcerer/2

I can't believe you were waiting for this....my init is 3 +2 for a whopping 5.

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari moves forward with her wand to await the bad guys she knows are inevitably coming out of some door.

I move to (8,17) so I can see down the hall. Is the trap disabled at all; or did Yod just jump over it?

female human Sorcerer/2

Luke doesn't know his left from his right, now we have to pay for it. Sari's init roll is 5 + 2 for a 7. I'll just hang here until, well, you know.

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari watches Yod maneuver over the trigger stones and let's out a nervous breath when he makes it safely over. She twists a scarf in nervous anticipation of what is to come.

female human Sorcerer/2

"Now you tell us that...great, just great. This might be the last time I let a man talk me into coming down into a dark room. Well, probably not."

Sari continues to follow the men-folk with her light. She's all for letting others trigger or disarm traps, whichever works.

Cha tuk wrote:
I'm readying my wand...

Is this a euphemism for something? Should I be readying something as well?

female human Sorcerer/2

"We'll need some light while we venture further into the belly of the earth." Sari picks up a loose bit of rock/bone/mineral/etc. and casts light upon it. "If I have to go down there, at least I want to see what's going to eat me."

I have 2 spell points left, and remember I have mage armor on. And my asbestos panties.

female human Sorcerer/2

"Okay....moving right along now. Since it's early in the day and we can't really do anything about renewing our magic we need to come up with a game plan. Are we going down into the depths? Can someone help me out with my points I'm down? I'm not sure I have any potions. If we are going down into the depths, I can use the heck out of the wand. Let's make a decision and get moving."

"Should I stay or should I go now..."

I'm not real big on decision making...somebody choose.

female human Sorcerer/2

If'n nobody else wants the cloak, I'll take it as long as it's not covered in boogers. Also, I'd like to look at the scrolls Lyrie was carrying (spellcraft check for each of the five scrolls: scroll 1 - +11, scroll 2 -- +9, scroll 3 +15, scroll 4 -- +25, and scroll 5 +15) The light is kind of bad in this dungeon, so if anyone has read magic, that would be great.

While Yod and Shal screw around with the statue thing, Sari takes a look at the scrolls Lyrie had. She can tell one is a scroll of Whispering Wind; the others need some more light to decipher what they are.

As Sari looks up from perusing the scrolls, she realizes with horror that Yod is about to open yet another door. "Yod, you are NOT going to open yet another door! I am almost out of magic, I still need healing from the last door you opened, and I am getting sick of wandering around down here!" Her morale is obviously low, and she is drained magically and in pain from the dog bite from upstairs.

If you guys want to continue on in the state the party is in, so be it, however, we are not well-equipped to deal with much more, and we have some serious scary lady waiting for us.

female human Sorcerer/2

I totally agree that we need to regroup. However, I'm not certain there is a place in the near area that will serve our purposes. As for the orc being "back or normal"...normal is a relative term, don't you think?

female human Sorcerer/2

I move to (11,15) and deploy the weak chicken attack. I roll a 4 +1 for a total of five points of damage and 33 charges left in the wand. Isn't it time to level up? Don't I have new spells now? Shouldn't I be able to flame everybody, or something? Some spittle at least?

Sari casts a weary look at the dwarf. "About time you hauled yourself back here, my friend." She invokes the magic of the wand again, and sends a colorful spark toward the ugly doggy. "Where is a collar when you need one?"

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari takes a step forward into the doorway and shakes the wand savagely at the dog. A missile leaps out of the end and winds its way toward the smoking dog.

I roll a freakin' 1 for a total of 2 points of damage. It's like being pecked to death by a very weak and frail chicken. There are 34 charges left in the damn thing. Anyone got any better ideas?

female human Sorcerer/2

"This ISN'T happening! That's IT! Kill the damn demon dog and let's get out of here!"

Sari realizes she doesn't have much more to give. She waves the stupid wand because she is too distraught to think about conjuring any magic spell right now.

I save my 3 spell points and cast a missile at the remaining dog. I roll a very average 2, for a total of 3 points of damage. There are 35 charges left in the wand. I plan on using them all on these stupid dogs.

female human Sorcerer/2

Psst...here's some table talk for you...try Sugar, Yod. It seems to work better with demon bees, maybe it'll work here. I don't know, just a thought I picked up on from the DM talking to himself.

Sari can't believe this. "And this is what I left home for? To battle with stinky canines and stinky men? Ishah, no offense, hon. You are a right fine looking specimen. Now, if only I could find me one of the human variety to match you. I am too much of a girly girl to find much more of this entertaining. I knew I should have taken Aldern up on his offer!"

At the end of her tirade, she flings her hands out and sends two missiles dog-ward. One at each dog.

The dog in front of Cha takes 4 points of damage and the one in front of Yod takes 4 points of damage. She is now down 4 more spell points for a total of 3 points left. This is so NOT good. Anyone...can we get a little help in here? Or are we just to lead lives of quiet desperation? Well, maybe not so quiet..

female human Sorcerer/2

My picture token thingy should be at (12, 15) from last move. Or not.

Sari looks at the fray in the room. "Man, there's a lot of testosterone in there! Do we help them Shal, or just watch the show from here. Oh, what the hell. I don't like to let the men have all the fun! Let's see what this here wand can do."

Sari waves the wand of missiles around until something shoots out. She is aiming at the same dog as before.

So by my recollection there are now 36 charges in the wand. I don't know what level the wand maker was, so I'm going with same level as me and I get two shiny lights for one charge; you gotta love a 'buy one get one' sale! I rolled 2+1 for a total of 3. And I'm suing the newspaper for false advertising... this dang wand only shot one shiny light!

female human Sorcerer/2

What? Like nutmeg? How about the ever popular dill? I'm thinking it probably doesn't taste that good...even with spice!

female human Sorcerer/2

I roll an 8 + 5 for my will save. So, did I save my will, or what?

female human Sorcerer/2

And the answer is, no I didn't do anything about my HP. Would you like to DM?

Sari takes two giant steps forward, and casts magic missiles at the lovely doggies.

I am shooting for the one at 14,5 or close to there. I roll a 3+1 and a 3+1 for a total of 8 points of damage. I should have 7 spell points left.

"I'm really getting tired of being a dog catcher. I don't even like dogs...present company excluded."

female human Sorcerer/2

Init is 8 + 2 for the perfect 10.

female human Sorcerer/2

I shove the notes and papers in around my person...wherever I happen to keep these things. Someone back in town would be interested in all this, and I don't particularly want to come back later for a visit.

"Are there ways we can tell what goblin comes from what tribe? Seems that would be useful information."

Sari holds the torch and keeps up with the others. She misses the wide open spaces her family's caravans usually occupy.

"This fascination with dark places some beings have is rather unnerving."

female human Sorcerer/2

When was the last time I cast mage armor? I'll look back in the posts if you don't remember right off hand.

female human Sorcerer/2

After Cha's oration, Sari looks at him with renewed interest. The wild man speaks well....

female human Sorcerer/2

"I think we should make a move, one way or the other soon. I still have some energy, and we have just acquired a lovely magic wand."

By my reckoning I have 11 spell points left. Any clue how many charges left to the wand?

"How about everyone else? Should we continue on, or leave?"

Should I stay or should I go now....I don't care what Rock Band says about my singing....

female human Sorcerer/2

Sari stands and shakes her head as Yod walks about with a mattress. "I thought we were all tired, but that is just a bit ridiculous."

She gives Orik's oration some thought.

"So, Nualia is somewhere below ground and will come out sometime with some demon dogs, but no one is certain when. That clears things up a bit."

She thinks some more. "Seems to me that your friend is a lost cause. How about you? Do you feel like swinging the other way, or shall we chain you up somewhere here?"

Sari isn't feeling very charitable at this time. She just wants everyone to play nice. Well, that and some ice cream.

"Sari, why don't you check her robes for spell components or anything ...

I look through her robes for whatever Cha thinks is hidden there. Although, I know more than most how to hide things where others won't see. I can cast detect magic on the lot of stuff, or Orik could just tell us what everything is; he's been traveling with her for 3 months, he should know.

I'd like to save the spell points if I can. Seems a reasonable request from our prisoner.
