I've still got some equipment to choose, but my character should be done!

Same here!

Okay, so we have wizard, cleric, monk, rogue, swashbuckler, and bard (warrior muse). Seems like we have a good mix of classes to get going.

Hello, this is Rienas' player. Sorry for the delay, was out of town for a couple of weeks.

I'm looking at a swashbuckler from an established merchant family. Motivated by the money my family's 'generations old' trading arrangements bring in, this character initially enters the AP looking after his own interests but will develop his own form of patriotism as he goes. I believe I'm the second person to mention a swashbuckler so please let me know if I'm stepping on toes here.

Are you going for the Swashbuckler build? Just want to confirm so I can finalize Aria.

Seems we have a wizard, cleric, monk, rogue so far. Does this sound right?

Hi everyone, Daesra here!

I'm thinking the half-elf gladiator/duelist would be fun and there are a few ways I can build her: fighter, swashbuckler, or bard if we need some magical support. She may be along to pay off her patron for her freedom, or was just freed and is looking to make her fortunes outside the arena.

I've built Aira both in Bard and Swashbuckler forms so can run here as either, and the Athletic Champion background is the best fit for her.

Her tie to Lady Lotheed could be by blood - her uncle visited the gladiator pens because he had taken a fancy to an elven warrior and fathered Aria.

A sense of familial obligation and kinship an illegitimate cousin led her to arrange for a suitable sponsor to add Aria to his crew, hedging bets that having a skilled warrior on her side may come in handy one day.

Aria's penchant for singing during arena fights caught the attention of the crowd and those higher-up as well.

Thoughts?

Thank you so much DM DE, I am very patient and happy to be in the group. Plus, now I have more time to read up on PBP and the CRB. (It should be here any day now.) :)

Confirmed here too!

I don't mind some additional challenges, and look forward to how that may interact with the storyline. Thank you for the heads-up!
I've been looking about for a P2 version of the organization but have only found what was noted as a playtest version of the Gray Maiden archetype. At it looks like something to level into, hopefully something official will come out in due course.

Good luck everyone, have a wonderful day and thank you DM DrEvil for running the game!

Hello again everyone! Here is my entrant into the intrigue of Korvosa: Daesra Darkshield

Personality: A serious and focused young woman, Daesra has constantly struggled to fit in since she and her baby brother were left at an orphanage. Raising Taldrin as a parent took away her youthful childhood and instilled her with a protective of those in need.
Appearance: Daesra is a striking figure in many regards – She is tall but wiry, yet has a muscular strength about her. Her jet black hair frames a tanned complexion and piercing blue eyes. Her countenance is wry and displays a series of harsh scars across her face, done in an almost ritualistic manner
Background: {Cliff Notes version, being very close to the final hour}
Raising her young brother Taldrin in the orphanage was the only sort of family experience she had growing up herself. Being mindful of the stewards, dealing with the bigger kids especially when they went to bully Taldrin, and making sure he was safe and fed was all she know. That changed when special representatives came to visit, and took her and a few other girls away for a “noble cause.” She was heartbroken, devastated at being separate from her brother but assurances that the orphanage would receive special funds to help the others assuaged the pain slightly.
The following years found her working in the smithy, helping then learning to forge armor and weapons for the organization of women warriors. Her larger size helped with the tasks, and constant work brought out a physical strength she would have missed growing up on the streets.
Seeing all the women there with scarred faces as disconcerting, especially when no one would answer how that had happened. Her curiosity was horrifyingly addressed when it was her turn to be initiated.
The following years were a blur of martial training, smithing, and constant restless nights of worry aver her young brother. Daesra turned this inner turmoil into her work, focusing intently on crafting he best weapons and armor she could – her gaze was so intense that others would back away and leave her alone while she was in her element.
One day, a brief note made its way to her, inside a delivery of metals for the forge. Taldrin had found a way to make contact! He said he was in some serious trouble and needed her, and to meet in town. Taking whatever possessions she had and hiding them in a box of “impure ores” that needed returned to the warehouse, Daesra walked away from the only stable home she’d known.
The reunion for that evening did not go as planned – arriving late at the alley, she found her brother dead, stabbed multiple times and his frail form missing their mother’s protective charm – she’d insisted he keep it always to keep him safe. {Tweaked a bit from the Love Lost background}
And now that she has lost everything, there is only one thing to do…

Good day to you!
I stumbled on this thread about an hour ago, and have been pondering making a submission for consideration.
I'm new to P2; after have been playing 5E for a while now with regular groups I'd like to try a new system.
I have had a soft spot for Gray Maidens since I saw them in the 1E Adventurer's Guide and would like to work one into the game if possible. While some initial ideas are sounding good to me, I will devote some time in the morning and share more details by noon ET.
Please let me know if a human Gray Maiden initiate/deserter (fighter) would work.
