Figured I'd try and post in at least a bit since I've managed to sit down for a few minutes. Have we rested? Most of my spells are quite obvious or aid one in combat, perhaps I could could find one for more... subtle use. I wouldn't make a promise though. Hmph, I'd rather fight them, and break their spirit as they realize they could never hope to win. Much better way of breaking someone.

Wouldn't mind showing some of these creatures true power.. hmph. I for one welcome it. More chances to hone my abilities the better. Besides, I've gotten an urge to show at least a few of these creatures true power.

Rythian looks on the events in mild distaste. Having already forgotten the worthless bugbear from earlier. To be forced to ally with these creatures.. They would be better as slaves. Alas, they have a role to play. At least their leader seems... capable... mostly. Rythian finds the brew strong, crude and distasteful. He takes several fake sips to avoid confrontations, but that is all. He nods towards Fire-Axe, but says nothing. Baziel munches on a stolen morsel, sitting invisible on the ground next to Rythian.

Rythian rolls his eyes, and mutters under his breath. He moves to the head of the ship before glaring down at the bugbear. You DARE to hold up the workers of the Dark Prince? You DARE to challenge and impede us during our work? I will give you this LAST chance to grovel for forgiveness or so help me by the time I am done with you you will wish for death. And when your death finally comes you will know nothing but torment as I deliver you into his fiery grip for all eternity, with the knowledge that YOU attempted to halt his plans. I will not give you this chance again. Now, Kneel. intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 SWEEET

way I see it, I can wait until about 4-5 of them come across before blowing the bombs, which was what I had planned. Or I can do it now, and go with close range ranged combat similar to what you guys suggested. I'd go with majority vote.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
I am under the impression the captain is not getting involved in the fight. Particularly with that last comment from him. So that was my bad in misunderstanding that aspect. bombs are more effective at the range we are at now, IIRC they are a 30ft range increment. If I am wrong on that please do correct me I have only played alchemist once a while ago. also boarding planks are narrow, likely allowing 1 person across at a time per plank. like I said, if popular opinion is to set them alight before some come across, and I meant around 4 before then ambushing them and setting them alight I am fine with that. Rythian is more a up front killer, not as fun from afar. And I honestly thought it was a good idea. Especially with my channel evil ability for close quarters.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
well how many of us have bows? and how many of them likely have bows? even if half of them are distracted by the fire, thats 6 to 4, after they start to get the fire under control thats even more lopsided numbers and then the fire is gone. If there are more votes for that option however, Rythian would go along with the Majority whether he liked it or not for now. If it was a fight where the aim was to merely escape and things are good I could see that, but a fight like this, when heavily outnumbered, needs a decisive first strike and I'm not sure ranged is the way to do that.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
Well my plan was similar, it just involves splitting their group up. My imp should drop the flasks the turn combat starts, which should cause a large distraction allowing us to divide and conquer as it were. Hopefully by the time they deal with the fire, or even before, we can have dealt with most of the ones on our ship. Expected the captain to at least tell his boys to shoot them though it doesn't seem terribly likely.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
I haven't looked into people sheets so I'm unsure of just how much alchemist fire we have. It would need to be a large amount, as any ship worth its sails would have an extra sail laying around. The way I see it. We are fighting them at some point, now. Or when they catch up with us again. At least at this point we have surprise on our side. With a decent diversion tactic.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
Rythian would hand any Alchemist fire, or oil flasks, to his imp before they get too close. After which give him instructions to use them once fighting commences. Then cask divine favor as the other ship pulls up as they place the boarding plank.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
I believe that would mean we go with my plan? Invite them over if they wish to search us, before setting their sails alight as a distraction before converging on those that came aboard. If that's the plan, hurry and hand me alchemist fire if so.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
tis no problem, Shoulda made it clearer. Hmm, I still believe if we seek to capture or kill the men on that ship, we should wait until some of their number is on board here before causing the distraction. Otherwise they may force us to board them at full force. What do the rest of you think? Captain, do we have the crew to manage an additional vessel?
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
Just a note, my Imp has been invisible from the get go. Perhaps, I'd rather add another ship to our little fleet here, but that may be the safest option we have. Perhaps waiting until some of them are searching our ship before setting theirs alite would pay dividends? they would be split, and possibly confused. Allowing us to fight them piece-meal. Nothing like a well timed strike after a bit of deception to show them how pathetic they truly are.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
Rythian grimaces slightly as his Imp concentrates on the knights Aura. The knight leading them is fairly powerful, It would likely be a very tough fight. Though, if you have enough oil, I do have a way to get it onto their ship. Though perhaps not in large amounts at a time. Baziel return to me at once, at the hustle! I may have another job for you.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
The imp would focus on the one in charge, how strong is the aura coming from the man? faint? moderate? strong? (as per the detect evil spell) I'd say there are at least a dozen heavily armed soldiers. Not including the man leading them. I Think if it came to it, we could possibly take them... Captain, you ever wanted a second ship?
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
It it comes to that, I may have a solution. A gift, as it were, from my master. Though the oil and fire may need to come from another place... At least the oil. He smiles devilishly towards Szordrin. Gonna wait on info from Imp, the imp can move 100ft/round as a dash, 200ft as a run equivalent action I believe. Pathfinders movement has always slightly confused me But I think I am correct in this. as per the "run" action.
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
As my imp gets closer, he would use detect good/magic while looking around the ship. At any point during this, if he gets a whiff of a terribly strong good aura, or magic aura he would stop and concentrate on it for more information, relaying it back to me. Imp has invisibility, and is tiny, so his stealth checks are at +32 (dex and stealth ranks included) before his roll. AC 20, HP12 for the imp. I suppose, It may be the best course if we believe we are outmatched here. I'll know just what they have coming soon enough I hope. But who would do that?
demon-spawn tiefling(pass for human ) Fiendish vessel 3 HP: 30 AC: 21 T:12 FF: 19 | Fort: +5 | Ref: +2 | Will: +6 | Init: +4 | Perception: +9
I'd rather not be tied up, and I think I speak for my new companions here as well. He looks around for confirmation from the others. Besides, They would likely be very interested in taking custody of said "prisoners" for a large variety reasons. Or at least escorting us. I say we try to bluff our way out, and should that fail, have a plan b that involves them dieing or being captured, and not us. Baziel, fly out towards that ship and see if you can tell how many people are on it. Don't get too close though, no need for unnecessary risk. The invisible Imp nods before taking flight towards the other ship. flight speed 50ft, so 100ft a turn

Perhaps However I believe our tiefling and Dark skinned companions should keep out of sight at first. If it does come to a fight, I would suggest keeping a couple alive if possible. More value in them alive than dead... usually. Will they surely attempt to search us captain? He glances towards the Captain to hear his thoughts.

I believe that would be a wise course of action, captian. Rythian remarks as the captain mentions not going near the city. As they get further out Rythian will Scan the horizon before asking the captain. perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15 How long to our destination from here captain? A tall man wrapped in an elegant looking red cloak makes his way on board the ship. He makes his way straight to Timeon before speaking. He lefts his cowl revealing shoulder length hair and glowing red eyes. Timeon! you little whelp! Orders have come in that you are not yet worthy. Now go on and get back to the estate. Heard they got something... else...planned for you. I'll be handling the 9th knot's religious needs from here on out. Now hurry up before I decide to help you with a good kick. He turns and looks over the others with a literal burning gaze. His voice softens slightly and his demeanor becomes more amicable. Well, hopefully we all get along better than my last band. weaklings the lot of them. My name is Rythian Alzir, may we all prosper under the masters guidance. He takes a bow as he finishes, showing a black steel breastplate underneath his dark red cloak. At his side rests a morning star of almost ornate appearance and quality. A shield also appears to be strapped on his back, slightly hidden beneath the cloak. he turns towards the captain. I assume you have no qualms with this change of passengers captain? |
