Ryota smiles. "I'd like that too, Anyka."

After a couple of hours, Ryota gives Anyka two doses of the contraceptive, explaining how to use it. He then goes back to his other work as she leaves.

"Actually, I might," Ryota says. "The old man I inherited this shop from was an avid drinker."

He rummages in a cupboard. "Ah, here we are."

Ryota pours a small cup for Anyka. "I will get started on the preparations and I shall be right back."

"Not at all," Ryota says. "Is there anything I can get for you?"

"The preparation time doesn't take long. It's letting the components cook down that takes the longest," Ryota answers.

"Two gold," Ryota answers. "Will you wait for it or would you prefer that I deliver it to you?"

"A number of women were using night tea to get rid of unwanted children, which it can do in high enough doses," Ryota says. "Some went well over that and...there were plenty of unfortunate incidents. Long story short, herbalists were asked to come up with safer alternatives."

He smiles, trying not to be long-winded. "I can make a large batch in two hours."

Ryota raises an eyebrow. "Night tea has been illegal for over a century. Ah...I forget, you're not from here. Herbalists have discovered a mixture, when taken once a month, prevents conception. It's not habit-forming nor is there any concern of toxicity. I can make it but it will take about two hours."

Ryota returns the smile. "Hello to you as well. What can I get for you?"

Ryota looks up as Anyka walks in. "To what do I owe the pleasure, Anyka?"

Ryota hands Rajni a small bag of the ginger tea. "Two copper, please."

"Aside from some ginger tea, I wouldn't know what to suggest," Ryota answers. "Usually midwives guard their secret recipes for getting rid of all those nasty symptoms. I do have ginger tea though, if you are interested."

Rajni opens the door to see the shopkeeper sweeping the floor. He looks up. "Good morning."
