Feelings yes...Good or bad...no.Luthar replies and then continues. Feelings are the threads to our humanity, which has been lost in some more than others. Our feelings do not dictate our actions though, our training, upbringing, and our father's guidance lead us fearlessly towards any outcome...We have together and individually overcome obstacles that would shatter nearly anyone's feelings and insanity...Does that answer your question? he ask, smiling and looking at his brothers he looks down the hall towards the Daemon and then ask another question.

What is your feelings on the dark guest down the hall?

As the team moves through the doors and past the Ogyrn, one would think a wolf might take offense being called stink, but he let it slide, more surprised by this Ogryns wit and humor. As he passes he reminds the big fellow that Wolves always travel in packs.growling and bearing fangs, but not in an aggressive manner, just enough to make himself known and unforgettable to the guard.

Once inside he's careful to remain sensitive to the tides of the warp and monitor what he can while observing those inside.

Because of the DOS from the test I should know the exact location (at the time of the test) of the Corrupted presence. ALSO, is the Inquisitor on our Comm channel or is it only us Morgan? Maybe the GM can provide a little more clarification and/or require more tests

Luthar replies over the comms, making sure the Inquisitor is in the loop, as he is their charge and its their responsibility to escort him. While a small flash of distrust crosses his mind, he doesn't believe that this is an elaborte ruse...yet. He makes the split decision to decide to trust the Inquisitor and gauge his reaction from the information presented.

Inquisitor, can you feel that corrupted presence aboard? We must investigate before we head into the Warp. If this is a trap, what better place to spring it than here. I leave it to your discretion to investigate quietly or directly confront the Rogue Trader. Perhaps he too is unaware or there is a reasonable explanation for what I felt.

Depending on how the Inquisitors and his brothers wish to play, Luthar will attempt to locate the presence himself aboard the ship and when the first oppurtunity arises, will begin locating it and opening himself again to the warp to focus on the corrupted soul.

Another test if required and/or necessary to locate the presence during a search.

Luthar opens himself and senses a few strong minds that stand out above the others, clearly Sanctioned Imperial Psykers. However, one reeks of corruption and darkness and Luthar instinctively sniffs the air, unable to hide that reflexive part of his muscle memory as a wolf.

Finally deciding to speak up after leaving the ship and viewing the spoils of being a Rogue Trader, unimpressed by such material and technological marvels, he does so with all the composure he can, careful not to give away what he knows or suspects.

Surely your wealth is not only in the toys, but also within your ranks and among your experienced crew. I trust we are free to explore and meet your crew while in transit. While anyone listening might be looking at the Rune Priest he subtle gives another message to his brothers through body language and ancient Deathwatch ciphers, only intelligible to his squad, and only if they're paying attention to him when he signals.

The message is as follows:
I sense a dark and corrupted psyker aboard this ship, should we investigate quietly or inquire directly?

Luthar doesn't mind the Rogue Trader's attitude or his ship. He laughs at the exchange with Othair but remains quiet. As they approach the ship he opens himself up and feels the tides of the Warp, wading into them and searching for anything that stands out.

Been out of the country, will post req. ASAP.

Luthar listens and supports Sardus' nomination for squad leader. Not wanting the duty himself, he instead wishes to be able to focus on the mission and keep his mind extended.

My Rune powers will protect us from most enemy fire at range. However, should they move within my sphere of protection, then their attacks will be at full strength. I shall protect the Inquisitor and deal with anyone foolish enough to get close enough for melee combat. Finishing is sentence, he looks to Othair, Come Brother Othair, that new armor has little history, let us make it fit for a wolf.

If Othair agrees, then Luthar would take some oils and natural paints and clay he uses from Fenris to paint and decorate Othairs new armor and skin. In a ritual usually reserved for himself, he decides to include Othair now that their bonds had been cemented with bloodshed, battle, and drink. After finishing he says to Othair after taking a long sniff.

Now you smell like a son of Russ and look the part too. The Forgemaster's work is to be commended, but he is no Fenrisian Forgemaster and anything not tempered by the snowy waters of our world is barely suited to our skin. May the great wolf spirits guide you and Russ watch over us. he says finishing the ceremony and returning his small batch of colors and oils to his bag.

Don't have to do that, but thought it could be cool and bonding.

I believe we have enough for now, let us meet your Rogue Trader and prepare for our departure. Luthar says as he looks to his brother's for confirmation.

No matter how secretive we are, our Souls are different and distinguishable by those who attempt to understand and dabble in the Warp. We will not have to be seen to be found by a skilled Psyker or one Tech-Priest who can manipulate the machine spirits. We must be cautious and prepared. I assume the other Inquisitors who went missing were both formidable and well protected. We should not be presumptuous in our approach. I too might be a target, but the target would most likely be you Inquisitor.

The contingency plan you have in place seems adequate. Should we be taken, I would rather die than be forced to aid in some unknown sorcery or ritual. Should we be taken, I fear there are little others who stand a better chance and this world hardly seems worth the risk. I will prepare myself and consider what equipment I shall requisition. We should consider more than guns and ammunition. I am confident my brothers and I will have a plan ready by our arrival. If you can share your planned routes and any maps available of the terrain we will be traversing, we can better prepare and choose our equipment accordingly. If this does turn into an investigation or rescue, then you will most surely need to use your influence to acquire the right tools for the task at hand.

Luthar seems to care less about the details and is more concerned with the mission. As he listens to his brothers bring up excellent points and questions he listens carefully.

While not excited to be operating in a Hive city, the situation demanded investigation. Missing Inquisitors most likely means Psykers and the mysteries of the Warp. Chaos he thinks to himself, before a flash of rage washes over him, but quickly fading as he suppresses his urges and holds his tongue.

Perhaps I might make interesting bait. Anyone trying to take me will...cutting himself off from such thoughts, trying to remain focused on the conversation at hand.

Waiting for a break in the discussion, Luthar asks:

What of the missing Inquisitors? Do we know how they were taken? Any survivors or evidence indicating who or how?

The bar is a sight for sore eyes. It had been a while since Luthar had a proper drink or reason for celebration. He delighted himself in the hospitality and thanked the Inquisitor personally. While he shared stories and mingled with those brave enough to approach him he took genuine pleasure in having saved their lives, but the events still weighed heavily on his soul, but the drink would help him forget.

When the time seems right he attempts a toast for those fallen and unable to be with them in celebration. He recalls the soldiers and their sacrifice, as well as the importance of what every person was doing and who and what they survived against. He wished them luck and farewell, sure they would likely not be seeing much more of one another.

Luthar steps forward after Othair and presents himself to the crowd of strangers and soldiers.

"I am Runepriest Luthar of the Space Wolves. Your bravery in the face of uncertainty is to be honored. Each of you played a part in our success and I salute you all...I look forward to sharing more of your stories, for the lives lost shall live on in our memories, their deeds reminders that we are greater than the Xenos and traitors that threaten the Imperium. I thank you for welcoming us to your command and Squad Thannatos." he says, looking to the Inquisitors and senior members of his squad.

Luthar strides forward, used to being the center of attention telling stories and performing on Fenris. Still, the numbers are overwhelming and the company much more than a small tribe encountered while hunting. Not much for keeping appearances Luthar finds himself in humble simple attire, fit for hunting and primitive. Nothing fine about his clothing except for his jewelry and stones that swung from around his neck and made noises as he moved his chest and pounded his staff with each step. This would be an epic finish to the saga he would be able to share and perform when his great hunt was finished. Long would this tale fill the halls at which Luthar drank and honored the dead.

Then, he considered the risk they took and luck they had. Things would not be getting easier. The decisions and sacrifice called for greater. That weighed on his soul, but he trusted no others to bear the burden. Beckoning his squad to come, he motions them forward, eager to walk with them and commit their expressions to memory.

Luthar stands ready to act, his vengeance not quenched, he felt like a caged wolf and tried his best to learn from his mistakes in the days leading up to being summoned. He follows Matteus, eager to know more of the Inquisitors mission and response to recent developments.

As Luthar steps of the pad and takes note of where he is and who is among the welcoming crew he finally relaxes himself and welcomes the Inquisitor's invitation.

The honor is mine Inquisitor, I could not ask for a better pack. I accept your offer and pledge myself to your command.

At hearing the tales of his mjod drinking and Othair's instant taking to the Inquisitor, Luthar says Speaking of which, I could use a drink right about now...What say you, shall we feast and celebrate our brother's sacrifice, as well as our victory? clearly looking to Othair, the other Space Wolf, to join him in their Chapter's traditional ways. Unsure how his new acquaintances would take such an offer, he assumed they were probably familiar with the Space Wolves and knew it best to either join them or ignore them.

First I shall have this most holy armor removed and restored, it is too bulky and heavy to be walking around in. With that he bows his head, his wolf helm now removed, and walks towards the armory, his ancient staff proudly displayed, while nearly every part of him covered in xenos and traitor blood.

As Morgan finished off the Chaos sorcerer Luthar rested a little easier. Moving through rubble and over destroyed equipment, Luthar longed for the forests of Fenris and mentally rejoiced in his time outside on this planet. Knowing the mission and what needed to be done, left little time for anything but a hustle. Luthar picked up his pace and hurriedly retreated with his brothers towards the teleportation room. On their return, Luthar was surprised to see a squad that made it past the defenses and his brothers earlier work. Fortunately they were in flanking position and ambushed them, with only a blood frenzy strong enough to move his muscles and armors. As the rage takes over, Luthar finally loses himself for the first time on this planet and can barely recall what happened. When his frenzy slowly faded, he found himself among a pile of bodies and armor, and only then noticed his own wounds. He leaned on his staff to support him, luckily not having much other equipment to weigh him down, and continued towards the last stand.

Upon arriving he sees that there are still a number of people to be teleported away. He knows he won't be much use on the line at range and doesn't want to risk exposing anyone here to the side effects of his Rune's powers. Luthar kneels and opens his mind to the warp and searches for a greater consciousness than his own. He can't understand the drive or reasoning in these Xenos. Their hive mind having too many layers of protections and wards that kept him from touching the minds of anything significant.

Our task is nearly complete brothers, we fought hard for this victory and it is well deserved. I pray our defenses hold long enough for the last of them to be evacuated...Ohh the mjod we shall consume once we return... he says smiling to himself and picturing the celebrations of past victories.

Brother Luthar has pushed himself to the limits of his physical and mental capacity. Now the only one of the men he was leading able to still fight he found himself trapped in a corridor when the doors closed. It took a while but eventually found the path and rubble of what seemed to be a large tank moving through the complex. It had punched its way through barriers and blast doors. Luthar hears firing and screams and picks up his pace until he arrives to see Sardus, the last man standing and Morgan approaching a man peering behind the rubble before moving out to confront his squad's leaders. No longer accompanied by his spectral wolves he moves as quickly as his armor will carry him, closing the range between them and moving into a position to nullify the psyker's powers with his Psy-hood. Luthar stops nearly 30m away from where they are engaged in combat and focuses his will on the traitor, cutting off his connection to the warp and making it difficult for him to manifest powers. The distraction was all that would be needed as either Sardus or Morgan would have a split second to react and make a killing strike.

Luthar hears the alarms from within the station and his focus immediately shifts to what could be going on inside. Fearful it could be another Daemon or that the teleportation device could be compromised he returns back to the facility to discover that it is traitor marines.

Deciding to meet them head on within the confines of the facility would be dangerous, but the position must be held, they couldn't afford to be under siege from two fronts for long.

He meets up with security personnel and storm troopers inside and leads them on a deadly hunt. He does what he can to protect his allies and his spectral wolves lead the way, his force shield large enough to deflect most shots in the narrow passages means he and his support can close the distance and engage the traitors in melee. His wolves move effortlessly through the ranks ripping the legions apart limb by limb while the storm troopers fire endlessly with no fear of friendly fire.

Encounter after encounter with the traitors he summons the warp to smite them and in doing so disable their weapons and equipment, a byproduct of his sanctioning as a psyker, the marines initially confused by their weapon and machine spirits failure, often too dumbstruck to resist the lightning assault of the Rune Priest as he moves through the ranks with his staff, laying ruin to them with fire and smoke while they scramble to defend themselves in any way possible.

Give them no quarter, they betrayal can only be met with death. For the Emperor! he howls as he charges into their ranks deflecting blows and counter attacking like a true space wolf. Squad after squad falls at the hands of Luthar and his men, his frenzy unmatched by any warriors among the traitors.

The first of a few post, don't want to just post and leave by teloport, we'll see how it goes and if the GM posts any updates before I leave.

The sheer size and numbers of the hordes block out the horizon and what little beauty of the planet remains before leaving, this only further hastens and steels Brother Luthar's resolve. As the swarms approach Luthar calls forth to the skies and once again summons living lightning that dances through the air shattering creatures in the soundless flashes of light. He maintains this dance while they are at a distance, taunting them to break their ranks and rush forward to greet the Wolf in melee combat.

Not that familiar with Tyranids and all their stuff/abilities, so I'm intentionally being vague this post. Maybe I'll read up and have a better described encounter afterwards.

As the gargoyle like fly into firing range and the marines and troopers are assaulted by all manners of ranged attacks Luthar summons a Dome of protection around himself, moving about the field as quickly as his armor would carry him, trying to prevent the deadliest of attacks. They needed to buy time and Luthar sometimes sacrificed his appetite for revenge to protect the men who would willingly die in their charge, but deserved to live and carry on their oaths and duties elsewhere.

Upon seeing the rushing Carnifexs he comms the team and calls out the nearest bringing his living lightning to bear down on it while he awaits his brothers to response. If need be he would wade into the coming tide of xenos and take on another Carnifex before it could reach the walls. Doing so might be suicide, but it was a better alternative and his anger, nearly frenzied at this point, would not let him walk away without revenge. While killing them all was impossible he would deny them their plans and victory for as long as possible.

Some enemies would make their way up onto the walls and Luthar slaughtered them with a flurry of attacks from his ancient rune staff, sometimes spilling lightning from the edges as he struck foes and briefly stood over their ashes and howled with triumph.

Other occassions where more than a few managed to break the lines he assaulted them with the flames, engulfing numerous enemies together and easily exstinguishing their xenos souls as they burned in agony and thrashed from the burns of his psychic energy.

Only when they became overwhelmed and the lines broken did he call forth spectral wolves to aid him in combat as he targeted the largest beasts and coordinated men to take out the most dangerous threats.

Tyranid bodies piled up, fell from the sky, layed stacked and piled on fallen troopers, the frenzy and mindlessness of the swarm was daunting, but Luthar's faith and devotion to his ancestors would give him the strength and will to survive. Luthar would not walk away unharmed, his selflessness would eventually be repaid in kind by the Tyranid horde.

Cool, gonna post something now.

I will take the fight to them and will bend the elements to my command. This planet still has much fight left and I will not abandon her in it's final hours. I shall bring down the mightiest of the xenos and go where I am needed most in our defenses. It has been an honor serving with you brothers, I pray we all see each other again whole on the other side.

Luthar begins his own rituals and spends time alone contemplating his actions. He heads outside to observe the storm of Tyranid approaching and lets the anger swell inside him. It would serve him well in the battle to come, but he would not make the same mistake as he did with the Daemon. He would try to cooperate with the forces and lead the men as best he could on the walls.

Luthar looks to Uriel and the reality of death changes his focus momentarily.

Your brothers have met their maker and watch over us now with the Emperor, let us honor them in their final resting place and rid this planet of as many Xenos possible before we depart.

With the fight still in him remaining the rune priest prepares himself mentally for the coming swarm and stands ready to leave the depths of the facility and return to the surface where he may make his last stand, however temporary, on this doomed world.

2 people marked this as a favorite.

After dealing with the Daemon Luthar lets out a roaring howl of victory over the Blood God's champion. He knew the violence might of honored the God as the creature claimed, but he chose to believe instead, that it was a necessary evil and the brutality of the final assault was nature taking its coarse. The wolves were hunters and they preyed on larger beasts together. This one was maintaining the purity of their lands and not about food, but none the less just as important to the delicate balance of nature and the Imperium.

As they finish and Luthar see's his brothers and the Inquisitor once again he is joyed by their safe return and excited about their retrieval of the limiter and its potential powers.

As they move back into the facility with the Inquisitor, he is very curious about the device and when she attempts to deactivate the device by activating runes on the limiter Luthar feels the weight of black hole sucking his very essence away. He is puzzled by this, as most Rune Priest do not believe their power derives from the Warp, and eventually just blocks it from his mind, concentrating on the history and stories past down by his chapter and forefathers. He would indeed be adding to the tales when and if he ever returned to Fenris.

WP 60, +10 Deed, -20 Device (50) 1d100 ⇒ 81Failure

The devices effects prove to be too much and as he struggles to grasp what is happening to him it shakes the foundations of all he as ever learned and been taught, his connection to the warp is greater than he imagined, but he refused to believe his powers were derived from there. Luthar kneels in anguish and screams in frustration and anger.

Luthar nearly lashes out at the device and the Inquisitor but contrains himself in the presence of his squad, he had faultered enough that day, and he would need deeper reflection to understand all he has seen and learned. As the questions arise and his pack explains what happened, he grits through his teeth and replies, not holding back his disdain for the device or the witches warp sorcery.

That device brought us to another world where we witnessed an ancient Genocide of Eldar, all fighting for some mantle of power. They slaughtered each other in close combat before the cities defenses fired munitions destroying all before us, at which point we appeared back here and dealt with the BloodThirster, which nearly killed us in our initial assault. Only after regrouping and hunting as a pack were we able to overcome it's strenght and power. I am glad that cursed device is deactivated, I still have half a mind to crush it here and now. he says with as much anger and respect he can muster for the interaction. Afterwards he walks away needing time to reflect on this great ordeal and clear his mind for the battle to come.

1 Insanity point gained

As Brother Xing's whip wraps itself around the Daemons head tearing into its flesh with it's inscribed Kraken teeth, he feels the Daemon taking damage and he channels the last of his willpower and all of his runes energy into a "killing force."

As the marines move to catch back up to the Daemon, Luthar begins to focus on himself while they move. If he were to be the strong point and hold the Daemon, it would provide his brothers the time necessary to cripple or defeat him.

During pursuit he gathers the strength of his forefathers, focusing on their deeds and bravery. As Rune Priest it was his responsibility to pass on these stories in the oral tradition. He would add to the sagas he tells this day, but not without the help of his ancestors stories to give him bravery and confidence. He calls for the might of the Astartes most revered and ancient to add to his strength, drawing ancient energy that had been stored in the runes for centuries.

Half Action Fettered WP test (75+) vs 1d100 ⇒ 66

Might of Ancients:

Action: Half, Range: Self, Sustained: Yes
Description: Tapping into the deadly powers of the Immaterium, the Librarian infuses himself with psychic energy increasing his psychical prowess and strength of arms to exceptional levels. While this power is in effect, the Librarian’s melee attacks all have their Damage and Penetration increased by a number equal to his PR.

Base PR=6= +6 Dmg and +6 Pen to melee attacks.

My understanding of this is that its based on my base PR, not Effective PR, meaning it shouldn't be reduced when sustaining an additional power, which normally reduces PR of ability by 2 and not MY PR. If it is reduced, does that mean I read it wrong, and I can push this ability to increase bonus to DMG/PEN because its based on effective PR?

Half Action: Push level focus test (75+)1d100 ⇒ 93 Failure, Deed allows re-roll once per session, haven't used yet.

Iron Arm:
Action: Half or Reaction, Opposed: No, Range: Self, Sustained: Yes
Description: The Librarian sheathes his arm in an impenetrable field of energy with the power to ward off powerful melee attacks. While this power is in effect, the Librarian gains one additional Reaction each round that may only be used to parry, with a bonus on the Weapon Skill Test to parry equal to 3 x PR. Note that this power prevents the Librarian from using his arm for any other purpose, such as wielding a weapon, climbing, and so on

They are both half actions, should be able to do in the same round..I technically haven't "sustained" an ability yet, so do I still add +10? I could see so next round, but not sure if in the same round I am sustaining...I think it makes sense, not much difference from doing it in same round, but then after I exert a half action to sustain next round, then I should add +10 to the Phenom. rolls for each active power..Just not sure if it should be done in the same round...

The Gibbering: The psyker screams in pain as uncontrolled warp energies surge through his unprotected mind. He must make a Challenging (+0) Willpower Test to avoid gaining 1d5+1 Insanity Points and becoming Stunned for 1d5 rounds.

WP test (75)vs 1d100 ⇒ 57 Success

As he moves forward stronger and in the company of his Chapters most renowned warriors' spirits, he lastly activates runes on his left arm, embedding them with the strength to deflect the daemons attacks and stand his ground against the mightiest of blows.

By the time they reach the daemon its about to make its assent. Luthar howls in pain and anguish as the energies from his runes surge through him nearly uncontrolled.

Only with wings can you flee the wolves coward! Face me Daemon in combat to the death!...Emperor give me the strength! he says as he takes his force whip and attempts to latch onto the beast and keeping it grounded.Form a strongpoint formation brothers! I will hold him down.

Someone needs to activate the Strongpoint Squad mode ability, takes a full action and then can nominate someone as the strongpoint, as a free action..if no one else wants to spend their first full action to do it, then disregard...then resolve it however you see fit.

Strongpoint Squad Mode Ability:

Action: Full Action, Cost: 3, Sustained: Yes
Effects: Sometimes a Space Marine squad needs to hold a position at all costs, setting up fields of overlapping fire and holding the enemy back with a hail of bolt shells. A Battle-Brother can establish a strongpoint, nominating either himself or a member of his Kill-team within Support Range as the Centre of the Strongpoint. The Centre must remain stationary for the ability to remain in effect. The Centre may
then Call Targets either as a Free Action in his turn or as a Reaction. Battle-Brothers in Support Range of the Centre (including the Centre himself ) then gain a +20 to Ballistic Skill and Weapon Skill Tests against a Called Target, may reroll Damage against it, and may use their Reactions to make Standard Attacks against it. A target remains marked in this way until either the Centre moves (ending the strongpoint)or the Centre marks a new target. Improvement: This ability cannot be improved

SO it might just lift me up and away...Not really wanting to challenge it and keep it down with opposed strength..though its winged flight, not his body strength.. but at least hinder it..We'll see what happens.....There is a solo-squad mode ability Called Feat of Strength, some solo abilities can be used in squad mode, some can't, couldn't find anything specific regarding the codex abilities...so may I then? I'd throw down a fate point if needed. I'll activate it, and it lasts for 10 rounds at rank 5 and gives me x3 Unnat. Strenght...If its not cool, then I'll have separate damage figures without it.

Feat of Strength:

Required Rank: 1, Effects: Space Marines are genetically gifted with great strength far exceeding. that or normal men. In times of need, a BattleBrother can push this great brawn to its limits to perform truly
impressive feats. Once per day of game time, a Battle-Brother may perform a Feat of Strength. This ability effectively increases his Unnatural Strength Trait (see page 136) by one level, so for instance Unnatural Strength x2 becomes Unnatural Strength x3. This effect lasts for a number of Rounds equal to his Rank. Improvement: At Rank 3 and above Feat of Strength also adds +10 to all Strength Tests and Strength-based Skill Tests for its duration. At Rank 5 and above Feat of Strength last for a number of Rounds equal to twice the character’s Rank.

Force Flail:
WS 60, +20 Size bonus (80)vs 1d100 ⇒ 80 HEADSHOT-SUCCESS

1d10 + 14 ⇒ (8) + 14 = 22Tearing
Tearing 1d10 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24....The Emperor Smiles

RF Confirm:

If I cause damage, I'd like to use "Killing Force" which is an opposed WP test, I make a FP test. Haven't used this before, so gonna wait, till you resolve all the above..which is a lot. Feel free to roll for me if necessary. Not sure if I have chance to choose level of test and if that risks the tables of peril or phenom as per errata..

WP 60, +15 WP tests, +5 bonus per PR of FP test: Not sure to push or not, b/c of chance of other tables happening, not sure how you want to play this ability.

Luthar swings his whip at the beasts head determined to keep it down and allow his brothers to finish it, even if it meant sacrificing himself in the process. The Emperor clearly favors his choice of attack, but will it be the last time as the BloodThirster's rage could be uncontainable.

The Inquisitor with more knowledge than us about the device was unable to shut it down or disable it safely...Her absence, has led to this. I hold her responsible. We must deal with the Daemon, I will not risk the unknown with this damned machine. Let us deal with what we know brothers. Come, we mustn't let it escape....Remember your training and steel your souls, for this may be the last time we hunt together.

And with nothing more to be said, they set off for the Daemon as a squad. Ready to use their tactics and knowledge to better the beast.

Where is that witch and the rest of our squad? he wondered, wishing they had more, but knowing it would fall on them alone for now. Maybe if it did escape it and the Tyranids would fight until this planet was consumed, but such a horror existing in realspace couldn't go unchallenged by sons of the Emperor. I will not leave our jobs to a filthy xenosas he growls to himself for having such cowardice thoughts.

Before they get close enough, Luthar will draw upon the warp once more. But this time not to attack the beast, this time to strengthen himself. If he were going to be the strong point, he would need all he could muster to stand toe to toe with such an enemy.

Luthar stands and regains his composure, the taste of his own blood not uncommon. However, the taste of defeat and near death was rare and wouldn't go unanswered, the bitterness of losing more than blood boiled a rage inside him that would consume most younger wolves.

Damn Daemons and their blood god...I must not rely on my runes to defeat such a foe, I must handle this with my own hands. he says, bringing himself to his feet. He grabs his force whip and strikes the air between them, a pop is all that could be heard.

Get up Othair, the prey still lives, as do we. looking down at the wolf and offering him a hand up.

We must be smarter and have a plan, we must work together and remember our Oath.turning to Morgan. I will be the "strongpoint" and will not move unless I fall from his axe...the distraction should give you oppurtunity to move about and plan your attacks with precision and strength.

We gotta use Squad mode and those abilities if we hope to stand a chance. We don't have tactical spacing, but we do have "strongpoint" that takes an action to initiate, but gives us bonuses that can make the difference in the next duel.

I will summon my powers to strengthen myself, I pray to the Emporer it is enough to withstand his feroucious bite. I will not underestimate it again. with a low growl and heavy breathing as his body and mind slowly repair itself after such an encounter.

Luthar sees the Daemon charge him and he readies himself for the incoming attacks. You shall not pass Daemon, for today you shall have the honor of being banished again by a son of Russ.

Previous encounter Aterro mentions us in squad mode having an extra parry action that Othair used, so I’m assuming we can still use that now.?? Also, if we bot a missing player into declaring "Srongpoint" one of our defensive patterns from our Oath of Knowledge, then we could really be more effective...takes a full action.

Luthar maintains enough concentration to sustain the wolves presence and direct them to attack the beast. When he sees his brother's defenses fail, the words of the Daemon only anger him further.

Luthar lets out a howl of anguish as he activates his own wolf amulet, knowing that this battle would define this squad and forever scar himself and his brothers' souls. He attempts to position himself between his brother and the Daemon. Luthar knew his staff wouldn't be able to damage such a beast alone, he would have to wait for the right moment to strike with his powers. For now he would distract it while his brothers opened fire from a distance and the wolves hounded him from all sides.

Fury of the Wolf Spirits:

Action: Full, Opposed: No, Range: 5 metre radius x PR, Sustained: Yes
Description: The Rune Priest summons up the spirits of the Thunderwolves, Freki the Fierce and Geri the Cunning, unleashing them upon his foes. As long as this power is sustained, the Rune Priest is flanked by two spectral wolves that he may direct against his foes with a verbal command. The wolves cannot be damaged by attacks nor can they be grappled (though effects that end or disrupt the power will affect them as normal). They also cannot stray outside the range of the power. Each Round on the Librarian’s Initiative, each wolf may make a single melee attack against any target within range (they move automatically into contact with their foe and are not impeded by any kind of terrain). Each attack will automatically hit unless Dodged or Parried. Freki’s bite inflicts 1d10 x PR Rending damage, while Geri’s Bite inflicts 1d5 x PR Rending damage with a Penetration of 3 x PR. It takes a considerable amount of restraint on Luthar's part not to attempt destroying the device. However, should any more threats be posed by the box, he might reconsider.

What is he saying brother? He looks as though he's now given up?

Luthar waits, unable to follow the conversation and unsure of what to do other than watch the events unfold below. He continues to observe while waiting for translation.

Had to edit my post, I was about to do Forb. Lore roll and then I realized my PC doesn't even understand whats being said.

Luthar nods in approval of Aterro's thinking. We may yet survive the coming tide of Chaos with that logic. Waiting for others to speak up, he continues to watch the genocide unfold, studying them and their ways.

Good plan Aterro

Arriving at the clearing and over looking the devestation and chaos, Luthar can't help but feel remorse for such senseless genocide. Only the Warp could be responsible for such things he thinks to himself as he tries to recall something useful in assessing how they traveled into the past and what could be forcing the Eldar to behave like this.

This is as real as you and me, no illusion. Wherever we are, we need to survive first. Getting in the middle of another's battle serves little purpose, for we may be beyond the Imperium with little or no hope of reinforcements or resupply.

The Rune priest pauses and observes them more. Can anyone understand what they say?

Luthar initially rejoices at being in a better more natural place, but knows it can't be real, it must be the corruption of the warp that has so strongly clouded his mind.

By the time Luthar can react or say anything, its to late. Othair had demanded a duel, at least not then. Luthar, while a native of Fenris, often lived in isolation, much like other Rune Priests. While they could socialize and perform, they remained largely alone and in the wilderness. Luthar had forsaken that path and upon appointment to the Deathwatch, little had been done to rid him of his ways.

While he enjoyed the company of his brother, it had been a long time since a temper as severe a a wolf's had surrounded him. He found it refreshing and energizing. Come now brother, there is a time and a place he says as he quickly moves to prevent an immediate clash. We should save our best for the traitors and xenos deserving of our fury. Let tradition boil your blood and give you reason to return whole. We shall honor our brothers, but for now we shall honor the Imperium and serve our father. Come brother Othair.
