This large chamber must have once been a cistern for the sewer system. Walls made of identical stone blocks hold up a lofty ceiling reinforced with elegant stone arches, while the center of the room contains a more recent-looking structure made of brick walls that reach from floor to ceiling.

Someone mentioned the NPCs earlier, they are back at the mongrel village waiting for you. So once you've finished clearing this place you need to go back and fetch them before heading to the surface.

"If you believe you can take pain to demons with it, then by all means little one," the dark knight says handing Radiance over to the gnome. As soon as it enters her grasp the blade resumes its form as a scimitar sized for her.

It functions as a +1 cold iron scimitar in Fidget's hands. The blade can shed light on command like a torch, as a standard action.

"I am no Iomedean, but I will carry the sword. It could prove useful later," Ruarc takes the blade, and carefully straps it to his back alongside Justice.

A better spellcraft roll later, or some more research will eventually reveal that Radiance (the sword) will only function properly in the hands of a paladin. If no one else wants it, I'll throw a level of paladin on Ruarc and he can use it.

Ruarc swings at the woman again with his long black blade. "I've had about enough of your filth infesting our city! Die!" he shouts at her. She can't have much fight left in her, she's leaking like a sieve, he thinks as [i]Justice whistles through the air. The sword clangs off the woman's armor again, doing her no harm.

Guys, I'm going to withdraw from this game. I've been feeling stretched thinly between all my various PBP commitments lately, and I'm finding I enjoy DMing more than playing lately. Sorry to pull out, but with the two new guys I think you should be okay. Feel free to run Ruarc for as long/short as you want, Fanguar. Thanks for the fun, and I hope to see you guys around the boards again at some point.

Ruarc steps forward and swings at the last demon. He cuts its head off, and laughs as it dissipates back to the Abyss.

Ruarc moves up next to Arwen and swings at the blinded demon on front of him. He takes advantage of the demon's blinded condition to slam Justice's black blade down through its shoulder and into a fiendish lung. Ruarc grunts and twists the blade, eliciting a crunching noise, before withdrawing it. "You were a fool to ever leave the abyss, worm," he hisses at the Abrikandilu.

Pretty sure they have fire immunity or resistance from being fiendish.

Ruarc rushes forward with his own low cry. Justice slides from its sheathe with a sinister hiss. "May your eyes fall on me, and your wings shield me!" Ruarc says with conviction, skidding to a halt in front of one of the barriers.

Ruarc moves over to Aglamore, whipping Justice from its sheathe and swinging it at one of the cultists. His polymorphed muscles drive the blade with great force and he cuts the cultist nearly in half.

"Go back to the Abyss, demon-slaves!"

That'd be cool. It'd be nice to pick up the pace some as well. I'm running WoTR now too, but I haven't read past where we are in this game. If my game gets caught up to and passes us, I'm not going to have very much incentive to keep playing here. We've been going for nearly a year and we're only at 594 posts. My game's been going since May and we're at 283 posts. They are in Neathholm about to go fight the cultists. Just a heads up.
