"Let's put an end to this excuse of a devil."

The grim figure says in a deep, coldened hum as it extends a skeletal hand forward.

Gesturing and incantation to hasten his allies movement.

Haste for everyone.

"I don't believe that accepting his advances is a good idea. Hell has it's own ways to bite you back on the rear."

Rot Zug doesn't seem to be really interested in the idea neither. But it's not willingly going to go against the party otherwise. He thinks it's better to get rid of him now, for the long term, and don't dwell on Hell's affair.

"Why do I get the feeling he's not going to surrender easely?.. So annoying.." the wayang groans "Well.. Let's get ready for this and hope he surrenders sooner than later.."

As he takes some time and space to collect his toughts and incantate his spells, the figure of the little wayang is replaced by a pale figure wearing a long, dark tunic, revealing a skull for a face beneath his hood, floating above the ground.

Mage armor of 10 hours to Siri. I'll try to update my spells later

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

Yeah, I don't English very well either.

And as you said, that's why they use that kind of language in comics, to make it easier for readers to understand and get the idea across more clearly. Unlike reading a scenario, a comic has a different kind of narrative for obvious reasons. Besides, we can express the idea we want in other ways or format here.

Either way, I'm not looking to discuss it neither. I was just answering why these kind of terms broke my immersion. That's all.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

I know. But the way of saying it in-character didn't made sense for me, nor the meaning behind what is impling.

Referring to powerful spells as “Highest level” from the character's perspective feels odd to me as it breaks immersion.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

"Highest level?.. Billion Greater Dispels?" She repeats, somewhat puzzled "Is this some kind of druid joke? ... I don't get it."

"I think i'll pass... I feel that The buzzing will drive me crazy somehow"

The erynia says as she starts to take flight with her wings.

"Dear Urgathoa... Enough!"

She suddenly takes out an antique dagger, pointing it at the polymorphed human, while she gestures an incantation.

"We gave you enough warnings.. You won't gain anything by just throwing up your life like this"

With that, the man began to feel as his eyelids were being sewn shut.

Casting Blindness on the human. Fortitude DC 19

Using another Shadow Speaker for a 3rd time for this check. One use remaining for the rest of the day.

"May I...?"

She reaches out to the other erinyes to take the paper and examine it as well. Listening to a tiny dark voice inside her head, guiding her inspection, while she puts her glasses on to read over the writ with more precition. Maybe it was a muscle memory of her.

After a short while, finally, she smiles and takes her glasses off

"Well, well, well... It seems that you are correct. This SEEMS to be a valid writ... But, according to the fine prints used here, following Hell's bureocratic endeviours, this is actually a provisional copy for court review... Therefore, unless an infernal justice approved this writ, it has no legal validity..."

She then lets out a long yawn from exhaustion after speaking for longer than what she excpected to.

"But I assume that you already knew that, didn't you, sisters?..."

Her eyes then gaze back at the assaulting human

"That only leaves us with one thing then... Who's really on the wrong here, now?..?" she lets the question hang in the air.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

"I'm with them, sisters..." she notions towards the party ".. I didn't get to kill anyone, at least.. Wasn't my intention anyway, that's why I used black tentacles to restrain the polymorphed human and ask him to stop.." She mentions, with the obvious marks and the remains of a fireball in the area "After a.. stern warning.. for attacking us out of the blue, of course.."

She then turns towards the now bipedal jackal "Wanted criminals?... Why didn't you say that sooner? We could have avoided these problems... Besides, you might as well go to the authorities to formerly ask them for our capture 'before' ambushing us out of nowhere... And avoid this chaotic slaughter.." she says lazily.

"Here.." she snaps her fingers and the swirl of tentacles banish out of existance ".. Let's try to settle this quick then"

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

The erynia looks with certain surprise at the mangled human woman and the Hellknight being eaten while being asleep.

“I get the distinct feeling that they were out of their league…”

She then turns towards the invisible human, trapped within the black tentacles.

"So.. What do we do with him?.. Do we kill him like the rest of them?.. I don't think we're interested in knowing what they might know at this point, right?"

While discussing the man's fate, she plays with her fingers and fires a dark ray of negative energy at the man's chest to drain his life essence

Feeling the presence of an invisible creature nearby, the erynie flies up a bit from the ground towards the alleyway, poking her head towards the human duelist hidden inside, pointing it out to his allies.

"Peekaboo..! I see ya.." she does the gesture with his hands as she smiles lazily while filling up the alley with a mass of black tentacles across the place "Don't blame yourself for this... Blame the voices of the shadow for this..."

"You know... I know you are not gonna knock it off so easily, so hear me out... I'm going to blast you first, and then after that i'll ask for your surrender if you survive. Alright?"

She doesn't give the human time to respond as he snaps a sudden fireball out of nowhere among the mess of tentacles

Move action, she will fly 10fts up and move 30fts feets forward i nthe air. Standard action, she will cast Black tentacles where the invisible human is, using another charge of Shadow Speaker to gain a bonus for the roll, and swift action using a Quickened Fireball for the same target

"I think I will break a nail if I attempt to get them out of there...

Says the erynie with lazy eyes, while looking at his fine pedicure. It feels kind of nice to have a fine hand treated with such care.

"We could pay a visit at the Fallen Fastness afterwards if we find the time for them, of course"

Unfortunatly, I don't have anything to help them to get out. Those checks are pretty high for me.

Could Dimension Door work to get them out? I think I can take exactly 3 persons with me.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

The erynia keeps her gaze away from the main conversation, lost in thought, but enough to recall something about the conversation they are having.

"Oh, riiiight..! Erecura wanted to have a word with us, didn't she?"

He began lazily twirling a strand of hair around his finger; it was certainly annoying to have so much hair on his head. Having to brush it every day? Is that what they do with this? The Wayang never had to deal with that kind of annoyance before.

"Well... She's the Queen of Hell after all. It probably isn't exactly the safest conversation to have, either. Everything comes at a price, at the end of the day.... Buuuuut, one doesn't get to meet such historic figures in common ground.. Or rather... Hellish ground—You get what I mean."

I'm fine by going through the social encounter. And be there as well if it ends badly, ofc.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

Feeling a bit strange as he adjusts his new hair, the now erynia looks at his nails with curiosity, fluttering his wings from time to time.

“The imp should do... An onyx soul gem it's quite valuable” she gasps for a moment “Imagine the huge, friendly skeleton I could raise with that... I'd have to knit a very large sweater for something like that tho... But if you wish to free its soul, I won't stand in the way of your wishes.”

It is safe to assume that this erynia has the same stats and tools that an average erynia would have?

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

I wasn't expecting it to work tbh, this is the second time I use this.

First time was in a module, against a bandit who ambushed us while we were sleeping.

Content Warning (Self-harm):
We ended up just saying Rot Zug twisted his neck while he was possessing him. Then afterwards we raised him up with animate dead to help us for the rest of the module.

If i could bring the body with us like this until the spell duration ends, that would be cool. But if not, I don't have a problem with it either.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

A bit disoriented by the body swap, the now erynia slowly opens her eyes in mid-air, looking around in confusion at not seeing the wayang lifeless body. Well, it seems that, given the circumstances, this is what he’s got to work with now. At least her blood isn’t burning like poison throughout her body. Well, maybe it does boil in this body, but not like poison—more like fire. But it’s healthier than what he had before.

“Well… You had a point, Pigro… A brief respite from all that pain isn’t bad every once in a while… Though it’ll take me a little while to get used to this… How do people manage to move with such long limbs anyway?..”

At some point, he takes in the words of the man disguised as a goblin. What a charming idea. Maybe he should follow his lead.

He then starts to speak up, using the devil's voice. Maybe thanks to that it's that his own voice sounds more confidant than before

“On behalf of this Erinyes, her life belongs to the society now, to be dispose of as it sees fit. This will be her punishment for her weakness against our strenght. Eather way, a live with this humillity it's truly a fate worst than dead itself. For death would be too kind for weaklings like her"

I can roll for Diplomacy for this if needed.
Diplomacy (2/4 Shadow Speaker): 1d20 + 18 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 18 + 3 = 35

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

Watching the events unfold, rather distractedly, after seeing the dwarf cursing the devil in some way, the wayang hears a conspiratorial voice in his head, causing him to turn around a couple of times instinctively.

“Huh? Pigro?.. What's going on, Pigro?.. You're tripping, there's nothing to worry about..”

The wayang furrows his brow.

“What?... Take advantage of the hex?... On her? Seriously? ...” He rolls his eyes at the request “What a drag.. But... If you say so...”

With that said, he reaches a trembling hand toward the last devil, while his body begins to convulse and spasm, emanating a black mist from his entire body that attempts to reach the devil and take posession of her soul.

The wayang is once again overwhelmed by the cacophony of noise and shouting throughout the arena. Given his physical exhaustion, the small creature would much rather boost the group’s strength than having to lift a finger and aim for anything that far away, at least for now.

"Show them team... Rah-Rah-Rah... We will win... I know that!" he slowly chants while rising both arms up and gesturing a windy magic among his companions.

Casting Haste from slot on everyone before Siri and Winnifred take off, if possible. Otherwise, the haste would be centered on them both, and I think it would manage to reach for Noir, Duende and Colin from there. And as a move, Rot Zug would take out a rod of lesser maximize or lesser Elemental if the checks for Knowledges mention anything about being Resistant or Inmune to fire.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

The wayang tries to cover his ears from the loud laughter of the human dressed as an goblin. What an odd cultural thing to see. It’s not every day you see one species disguised as another.

The sole mention of walking up makes the wayang yawn, more even after having spent all that time reading those unending contracts.

Hopefully the have something like that... Although that's what they feed on.. Hopes...

He lazily rises his neck up at the unnerving 50th floor, while lying in the air

I could do you a favor and give you a lift up there instantly... But I can only bring three persons with me up there..

I have Dimension Door to cast for this. Roleplaying wise, it's what Rot Zug would want to achive, having to do as few physical task as possible and avoid them by using magic. At the moment he can fly, so this is just a courtesy for him.

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

He exhales a thin stream of shadowy smoke.

"Jeez... So many contracts. It's gonna take us half a lifetime to read all this.. Is this all really worth the struggle?” the wayang mutters dryly

He reaches forward, lifting the top scroll and letting the rest sag back onto the table with a thud, continuing to stretch out what feels like miles for him.

"By the gods.... I suppose this is what passes for mercy in Dis"

Rot-zug glances sideways to the rest of the group, one eyebrow faintly raised.

“I suppose the best approach for this it's that we all work together with this... The sooner we finish these, the sooner we can leave this charming bureaucratic nightmare behind.”

Rot-Zug can Take 10 on Linguistic and get a 25, so he'll need some aids to reach the goal DC

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

Rot-zug lazily chimes in, lying in the air above.

Because we are legally allowed to do that as we have our own paperwork made to investigate about this matter?

He pauses involuntarily, as though he were about to continue speaking, just long enough for the silence to feel awkward

Soooooo... Pretty please?

It's all good, folks. There’s no need to let things boil over something like this.

I’m sorry things unfolded this way overnight, let’s not take it personally. It's no one's intention to spoil anything to others. I believe this is just a communication problem, that isn’t worth escalating to at this point.

We’re all here for our own reasons, and everyone’s own decisions should be respected. I understand that stress exists for everyone, so it's better if we don't feed it anymore and put this behind us.

Let's just take this easy and treat this game casually, we're here to have fun after all. No need to burn bridges over something like this. It's not worth it.

The wayang seems to continue with its gloomy attitude inside his own world, paying little attention to what is happening or being said outside its circle of concentration.

Huh?.. Cats? Did someone said cats?.. I like cats.. he faints a tired smile I had one once...They don’t make much noise, don’t eat much, and they always come back when you call them.. and the sound of their little bones rattling lets you know where they are at all times...

After a moment, the wayang blinks a few times, as if returning to the here and now

..Oh. Right. So.. Anything else to consider before we go?

With weary, half-lidded eyes, the wayang glances down at his wallet. A small puff of dust escapes as he opens it, and a lone cockroach scuttles out from within.

"Ah!.. There you are, Pigro!" a faint smiles shows for a bit after finding out where his familiar was

"I'm sorry, everyone... The past few months have been rather rough.. I don’t think I can help you with any financial matters right now.. I’m still repaying Horus Ilaktya for his Death’s Head talisman for the Mohrg I have back in the Espresso Lounge i have in Kaer Maga... It keeps the place secure and the more troublesome patrons in line. It may not be the most conventional establishment, but it has a certain charm, especially when you see the undead baristas carefully preparing espresso for the clientele"

The small dark figure, faintly emanating wisps of black smoke from its body, lets out a long yawn with a weary expression. Waiting patiently to the answer to the questions of his allies. By this point, he was hardly surprised to be assigned this kind of tedious work. You do well once, and they reward you by sending you to the city of Dis of the Nine Hells.

That hardly seems fair.

I have— yawns I have some wardings I could prepare. But my magic is not strong enough to ward us all at the same time... If we had some specific scrolls of magic, perhaps I could conjure them in such a way that it would protect you all of the essence of Hell...

Rot-Zug can only cast Planar adaptation on himself from his spell slots (thought that it was touch, but it seems that's not the case). But I think he's able to cast a Planar adaptation, Mass from a cleric (CHA) scroll

Dark Archive

Male Wayang Wizard Necromancer

Rot-Zug is a small varisian wayang wizard of Urgathoa. He's a solitary necromancer that suffers from a silent disease that's slowly killing him, as he was born with poisoned blood (Poison Minion racial). He's socially awkward among living creatures, feeling more at home when he's surrounded by undead creatures. The only real company he has, it's his Familiar named Pigro, which is a soulbonded crystal familiar, surgically inserted into the corpse of a cockroach.

At the moment, he doesn't entices the idea of sharing his illness with the world, since his only connection to Urgathoa was that it was instilled in him from childhood, as well as the awe of her escaping from the clutched threads of death woven by Pharasma through sheer will to live.

When he is not constantly sleeping due to the physical exhaustion caused by his illness, he spends his time doing necromancy and dressing his skeletons with clothes so they "don't feel the cold of death".

--

Mechanically, Rot-zug usually feels tired and lazy during battles, tending not to move around much on the battlefield if it's not necessary, casting haste and other buffs among his allies so they can do the heavy lifting. He also is able to bring debuffs and control spells (Black Tentacles, Create Pit, Wall of Force) to make things easier for the rest.
But he's a capable blaster, normally bringing fireballs from all types and sizes; As well as having strong necromantic spells (Enervation, Boneshaker, Possesion/Suffocation) to throw at the enemies. Although, he doesn't have high saves nor defenses, besides casting ofc (Mirror image, Shield).

He usually rises dead enemies as bloody skeletons to bring them with the party, if given the chance.

---

Only abilities that would come to mind to have an eye for is that he uses Shadow Speaker a lot to gain bonuses on attack rolls or saving throws, as well as ability checks to make opposed Charisma checks against undeads.

Also, Rot-zug has Magical Lineage & Wayang Spellhunter traits, both linked with Fireball and lowering the metamagic increment by 2. So he usually brings empowered fireballs at 3rd-level or quickened at 5th (Not that it's going to help that much in Hell tho)

He tends to use Fate's Shears a lot too to make the enemies reroll their saves.

---

I haven't played him in a long while, so I'm still working on him and seeing what purchases to make. Thinking on probably learning 'Planar Adaptation' so he could cast it for this scenario, so he doesn't has to depend on scrolls.
