Congrats, folks! Have a great time!

Whew.
That's a helluva lot of considering to do. Seriously a stacked deck.
Glad it's not me choosing.
Good Luck, folks.

Coming down to it. One day more, and all that.
Good Luck, everyone.

like I said had I have the Giantslayer AP on me I’d easily run it with some submissions

Pretty sure you'd have an abundance of applicants from those not chosen for this...

Truth.
...any chance that 6 characters might get chosen instead of 5?

So there's still possibly room? Awesome.
I know there's quite a few of the moderate folk (dwarves) applying, but I've wanted to play a version of this character for quite a while, so I figure, why not try, right? Still working on the final draft of the background, but the crunch is done.

Rolthvar Ironblood, dwarven blacksmith by profession, Paladin of Torag by destiny. Or something like that. :D

Definitely interested, either as a Ranger or a Cleric. Will decide shortly.

So, is this campaign still likely to happen?

I'm dotting for the moment because I've been out of town all week for a convention for work with little wifi access. I will be home tomorrow, however and will properly apply this weekend. Just wanted to make sure my interest in this is known

4 as well.

Interested.

I'm thinking 1/2 orc (and 1/2 elf) ranger, son of a happily married orc herbalist mother, and elven father ranger. The father is infamous for having been a scout for the forces of good near the World wound who went missing, and who is accused of betraying his military company by leading them into an ambush.

The character doesn't believe it, and has come to Kenebres to find his father and clear his name, or in the worst case scenario, to bring him to justice and regain his family's honor.

Or something like that. The class could be up for discussion, I suppose, depending on what the others are choosing.

Interested. Quick question, do your "locked in players" already have classes/roles in mind or are they still undecided?

Interesting.
Looking forward to the full recruitment.

Thanks for all that! Both options sound cool, so if it's not too inconvenient, howabout you work out some details for the Holy Knight, and I'll consider it against the wibbly-wobbly timey-whimey retrofit of the Paladin and see which "feels" more like what I want to play.

Is that cool?

Ok, a few questions:

1. The Noble Paladin you mention: Do you mean simply replace/retrofit them or simply be another family member or...? Also, which family and what have you already established?

2. You have an evoker devoted to Heironeous, so regardless of the specifics of class and profession, perhaps my character could worship him and so have connections with the mage, perhaps?

3. I think I would probably go with Human or Elf for ancestry. Do you have a prefernce, storywise?

4. Tell me more about a reskinned Eldritch Knight. That sounds like it could be fun...though wouldn't it basically just be a battlepriest? (Which, come to think of it might be a good option as well, if I go with the "failed-paladin-applicant" idea).

Is this still an interest check, or an actual recruitment?

Ok, since you stated above it's ok to discuss and hash things out here rather than in Messages, I'll do so.

Since this is close to Keoland, I would think that there would be a strong military-type influence, or at least sense of pride in the area. I'm thinking of playing a physical character, though I'm not sure if it would be best as a Paladin or Ranger.

Both of them have pros and cons, and could be a lot of fun. The Ranger could easily be a guide for others through the nearby swamps and wilderness, and have come across all sorts of nastiness and wierdness.

Hmmm, I think that with the Druid in the group, however, I'm leaning more towards the Paly. (Although in a momentary spark of creativity, I could also see this character as a Fighter instead, but one who grew up wanting to be a Paladin, but falling short somehow. Maybe not being disciplined enough or something.) Will have to think on that.

Thoughts?

Sounds interesting. I like the idea, as described, including the home brew elements.

Will read the adventure thread and see what's what.
Do you have a wish list or preference for the class(es) that apply?

Actually, Black Dow led me to Shadowdark and it is AMAZING.

So, I would love to roll 6 3d6s knowing if I didn't get at least one 14 I could roll them again!!

To determine your character’s
stats, roll 3d6 in order for
each one. Note each total and
modifier on your character
sheet.
Optionally, if none of your stats
are 14 or higher, you may roll a
new set of six numbers.

Note you do not get to rearrange them!!

You can also do a level 0 start if you want an even more Grimdark feel.

To get the OSR vibe I would have a backup character linked in my profile too!!

Optionally!!! Who wouldn't reroll in this case

Hmmmmm. I may have jumped the gun..er, crossbow. I thought he was inviting us to roll. Perhaps he was just describing a situation...

Str: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5) = 13
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) = 7
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7
Chr: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3) = 10

This will be fine for a Dwarf Ancestry Fighter!

Awesome.

Str: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 5) = 13
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3) = 7
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7
Chr: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 3) = 10

Not so sure I'd want to start at 0 level, but will go with the flow, if everyone else wants to do so.

EDIT:
First char rolls are a bit iffy, so I'll just roll the backup numbers here. Just in case. lol

Str: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1) = 6
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 1) = 7
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 5
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 4) = 13
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 2) = 8
Chr: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5) = 12

AND, with NO 14s, gonna reroll that one. LOL

Str: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 5) = 14
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1) = 5
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) = 5
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 6) = 11
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2) = 9
Chr: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) = 9

LOL. This is gonna be fun. :D

Old school-style rules in an old school-style adventure? Would be very interested.

Also, Hi everyone!
Thanks for the invite, GMMike!

Annnnd of course, I'll be unavailable for the weekend JUST as we might be tossed in. lol

Guys, I have a rare full weekend off, and my wife surprised me with plans to go away to a bed and breakfast til Sunday.

I'll do my best to get Hrolth prepped, but no promises til Sunday at the eariest.

Awesome. Thanks!

Mr. Nevets here.

No crunch yet, (still at work), but here's the backstory for the human Barbarian I'll be submitting and taking the "Restless Wayfarer" campaign trait to match it.
