"That wasn't a fully grown one??" Rokas then turn to Kincaid. "And you want to go hunting for the big ones??" Just as he thought that the outside world wasn't so bad, Rokas feel really uneasy about creature bursting out of the ground with barely any warning.

"What is..." Rokas doesn't get to finish the sentence before the earth explode from under them. Then a set of large claws digs in his flesh, leaving trails of blood leaking on the side of his leg. "What in the world?" Wasting no time, Rokas moves slightly backward and take out a catalyst vial and hurls it at the large creature. The bomb land just on top of the thing's head, and explode on impact.

Bomb away!: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 1 = 16

"Also, we should stay clear of any fight as much of possible, less we get mistaken for those assassin people are so afraid of. Lastly, if we can, maybe head back to the Gnoll's tower? To check up on them. See how they are doing." Looking at Terex Rokas tries to sends some thought. And show to our new friend that our home isn't that bad.

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for. I was wondering if we could send the map with it and still keep a copy. But it appears that it doesn't work that way. The boss will have to wait for us to make it back.

"That would solve the money problem to get the map, and we would get someone that can show us around here. Maybe even have a place to rest inside before we set off again." While he was getting more comfortable about the outdoors, Rokas still missed the luxury of sleeping with a roof over his head.

What happens to the scrolls when use with the communication device. Are they teleported or copied?

Rokas can translate in both direction. So if there is something you want to say to the NPC you can assume that he translates for you.

I did ask the guy if he spoke the common tongue, didn't get an answer so far. But yes, Rokas will translate for those that can't understand or if you want to say something.

Also, I'm willing to sell my acid flasks so that we can get some gold. If we need more, I have a masterwork morningstar that we can sell. I'm also thinking of offering our services. Either me as an alchemist or the group as explorer for the map maker. Let me know what you think before I offer.

Rokas can't help but to look at everything. The only city he knew was Kotelia, so he was trying to study the difference in construction and city planning, if there was sign of any. "This place is amazing. Just imagine the possibilities if they could rebuild it completely." He turns to Terex, somewhat worry about the lack of dragon blood in most of the group's vein. "Do you know if there is some sort of social protocol here? Like can we speak to people directly, or do you have to talk for the group?"

The traditionnal roles are pretty much covered in a way.

Mr. Kincaid is our tank.
Terex is the rogue.
I somewhat cover the arcane slot.
Hylar, Kincaid, and myself can heal.

The only thing I can think that we could use is a caster to recharge the scroll communication device to revome some of the burden from Hylar.

So any 9-level caster, 6-level caster, and even 4-level caster when we get a level up would be a good addition. That leave a lot of options, so if only one of you pick a caster, we will be more then ok.

I more often then not play the divine caster in my game, so when I see someone who isn't full on hp it bugs me. I don't know why, it just does. Must be some sort of OCD...

I only gain 1 free formula per level up, the rest I need to find. But I agree that having a counter to invisibility would be a good idea.

Also, Kincaid... are you ever going to heal that one point of damage??? Or does Rokas need to pour down a cure light wounds infusion down your throat while you sleep? ;)

We are in a vast flat plain as the GM put it. Flying up to 60ft will already give you a better view of our surroundings, then the rest of us on the ground. You will still be within "communication" distance and a single move to get back to us. If after going up to 60 ft, you still don't see anything, then we will consider our next move. Rokas doesn't want you to take too much of a risk, but your flight ability is a major advantage.

Putting away his morningstar, Rokas picks up his bow and store it. He then starts gathering the dead dog together and take out his dagger. "If picking is slim around here, we shouldn't waste good meat." Taking one of the dogs, he cuts it open and starts cleaning the inside. Not looking at anyone in particular, he continues working. "Anyone feel like helping, we just need to take the guts out. We can cook the meat later."

Rokas brings his morningstar down on the head of the black dog that went past him. "Xaeken, move back!" He knows that he scored a hit the dog, he just didn't pay much attention on how much damage he did. Looking at the line of dogs in front of him, he takes a step back, hoping that Xaeken will do the same. This will probably hurt.

Can't open Google docs from work anymore, and I didn't want to slow down the fight. That's why I did it that way. Since I rolled a 1, both are with no consequence to the fight. Bombs are fire damage, including splash.

My action will depend on two things. The distance to the dogs and if I can safely use bombs here? If the distance is short and the grass won't turn into a wildfire, then I use the bombs, if not, then I use the bow.

If bombs

Rokas notices the dogs an instant before they burst out of the tree line. Digging into once of his pouch, he pulls out a small vial of liquid. He presses on the top of it and something fall in the liquid. Instantly, there is a reaction happening inside. Without hesitation, Rokas throws the vial toward the dogs, aiming for the leader. As he is throwing, the vial sticks a bit in his hand, resulting in a bad throw. The bomb fall short and to the right of the dog. "I need more practice with this."

If bow

Rokas retrieves an Arrow from his quiver, and in one fluid movement nocks it. Aiming for the lead dog, he sents the arrow flying. In the rush to hit the dogs, Rokas badly judge the distance and the arrow three quarters of the way to the target. "Damn it." He tries to judge the situation better, wondering what weapon should he use next.

Attack roll: 1d20 ⇒ 1
Misdirection: 1d8 ⇒ 8 1 is straight back at me, so 8 would be back and slightly to the right. Number of square from target depends on range increment to get there. bombs have a range of 20 ft. If anyone is in the splash, they take 5 points of damage, Reflex DC 14 for half.

"Maybe you need bigger eye holes in your helmet." Rokas does a faint smile, trying to lighten the mood a bit with humour. But deep down, he is still uncomfortable walking around with some many hiding places. Compared to the city, the world feels like one big dangerous place where death could be hiding everywhere.

Rokas looks at what's in front of them, feeling discouraged at all the possibilities of ambushes that lie ahead. "A flying ship... I swear the moment I get back home, I'll look into any reference of flying ships I can find." He grumbles a bit but keep on walking with the group, while trying to keep an eye on every possible ambush spot.
