Chuffy takes a moment to quaff a potion and heal himself. potion of cure moderate wounds: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (2, 2) + 2 = 6 I don't think I can deal damage to this thing that gets past its hardness unless I can figure out a way to sneak attack. If I move over into the green area (trees?) can I get cover to try to stealth?
Chuffy thought the pumpkin head should have burst from his bolt. He figures he better try a new tactic. He takes a step away from the other goblin chiefs to try to spread out, then he removes his grappling hook from his pack. He twirls it around and throws it at the stupid pumpkin effigy! I'm not exactly clear how this works. I make a ranged attack with a 10' range increment so -2 to attack since I'm 20' away. I assume it falls into this description? "Objects with ample places to catch the hook have an AC of 5." If I crit, then I can make a free grapple roll also. If I hit but don't crit, the hook would do damage and be hooked on it but not get a grapple attempt. Is that right? Could I then make a grapple attempt or trip it or something if its still attached next round? ranged attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
"You no goblin chief! Who made you?" Chuffy shouts at the bizarre thing. Without waiting for an answer he whips out his crossbow and aims straight for its stupid pumpkin shanks head! I think I'm -4 for being 90' away right? Hand crossbow has range 30' hand crossbow-range: 1d20 + 10 - 4 ⇒ (13) + 10 - 4 = 19
Chuffy cackles in glee as he pulls his dogslicer from the longshanks' leg. "Chuffy kill longshanks!" He sees the others flank him. "Chuffy not stupid! Longshanks stupid!" He swigs a potion and disappears. Move action to draw his potion of invisibility. Standard action to drink it. 5' step while invisible towards the fire.
Chuffy attempts to sneak out from behind the wagon and hit the green longshanks before he can notice. I'm not totally clear on stealth rules so please tell me if i'm missing something here. I am starting next to the wagon and moving 15' down to the target, so half my speed. If my stealth check beats his perception then I can sneak attack, is that right? stealth: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (4) + 20 = 24 dogslicer attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
+ bleed 1 point for the next 2 rounds if sneak attack. |
