Excellent. Thanks Keith for running us through that. I received the adventure record and Rogdar has been recorded as playing the scenario. So it's all good.
For now, I will step back from playing any more adventures. I'm involved in some other stuff at the moment, and need a quick breather.
Thanks again!

Alas, I don't think anyone can detect evil here.
Regardless, Rogdar makes it clear he does not wish to harm Esme as is willing to let her go.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Rogdar scratches his beard, deep in thought. After some contemplation he observes Esme curiously.
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
"We can't help ya lass. 'Fraid if the clergy found out we were 'elping some undead escape we would get in a heap 'o trouble. We might not even get paid." The dwarf says the last part with a grin, clearly intending it in jest.
He turns to Luthor
"But why be violent lad? We know what happened to the bodies, the man behin' it is dead. Our job's done. If we hand this 'un over to the clergy, she be dead too. She don't seem too evil to me, ya want that on yer conscience?"
He breathes out a gruff sigh, he hated moments like these.

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

"Ya could try them priests upstairs. I've had me a few wounds healed by clerics in the past, p'raps they can bring ya back to life."

Yes. OOC I am well aware this is a not a good idea. But... Int 7 and all. :)

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Rogdar's eyes widen in surprise at the appearance of the undead woman. He looks as though he is about it say something through gritted teeth, but pauses and calms down at Paewyn's soft words.
"Well, s'pose it's refreshin' to meet an' undead who don't want to try an' kill us." The dwarf mutters under his breath.

Silver Crusade

I'm not sure what pyrotechnics and such will accomplish. Personally, I'm happy for us to simply march north. Still, if you guys have a plan, go ahead.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

The dwarf nods in agreement.
With the party prepared (and assuming the corpses in the vats do not respond) he leads the group north.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Approaching the vats curiously, Rogdar taps one of the vats with the back of his waraxe.
Does a body inside stir?

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

After Paewyn tells the party about the notes...
Rogdar rubs his scruffy chin in thought.
"Huh. Guess that means we got the guy we wuz after. Them ol' priests lost some corpses an' this freak iz raisin' some zombies. Ain't no coincidence."
Before we move on, is there anything of note about the vats?

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

"I ain't one fer beasts an' such, but can't disagree with ya there." Rogdar replies with a jovial shrug.
He glances at the table and vats.
"One of ya want to check that stuff out? I fer one would like to know why that ugly fool was 'ere."

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

True, but animal companions tend to increase in size with druid levels. Plus there's always 'animal growth' spells. Hehe.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

"Appreciate it lass!" Rogdar says as he takes the potion.
He gives an informal salute to the others before downing the potion.
Cure light: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
That was a good batch.
Rogdar guards the southern corridor, just in case something tries to sneak up from behind.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

I'll say. Tongi rocks! :)

Don't worry too much about Rogdar, he's not going down for a while (Diehard is nice when you have an 18 con). Focus more on the enemy, keep him surrounded and try not to let him throw bombs (throwing a bomb while adjacent to a foe provokes AoO which makes it borderline suicidal if he's surrounded).

@Luthor: Cheers for the heal.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Yeah... I gave mine to Avis a while ago. It's long gone.
Badly injured yet barely even slowed, Rogdar darts around the man, wiping alchemical ice from his frozen beard.
[b]"Wrong call."[b] He snarls through clenched teeth.
Rogdar moves around the man, ending his move directly to the Man's right. No AoO I think since he has no weapon drawn.
waraxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d10 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Fort Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
That's probably not a spell effect, still,it's a pass.
Rogdar smirks through gritted teeth as the bomb smashed into his face. It hurt, but the pain only enraged him further.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Rogdar rushes out from the side alcove, ending up directly in front of the bomb throwing man. The dwarf grins fiercely.
"Surrender or taste axe. It's yer call lad."

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Just had a thought... Would it be possible for Rogdar to move out back into the main corridor and go toe-to-toe with the bomb-thrower? Rogdar only spent a standard action to strike down the zombie, meaning he can still move 20ft (more than enough to get adjacent with the hunchback guy) Note I did not have this option earlier since I could not know if Rogdar managed to kill the zombie or not.

@Party: This is a valid tactic. He will HAVE to back off or provoke an AoO when he throws his next bomb. More space for us to move up and gank him next round. True, Rogdar will be target number 1, but he's a tough cookie.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

WOW. Nice rolling Avis. The zombie is probably being grappled right now, but I won't assume anything in the dice rolls below.
Rogdar attacks the zombie in front of him.
Waraxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d10 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
NOW we're talking.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

It was a neat idea. Alas, being 1st level means we have very limited resources and options available.
Being stuck in an accursed 5ft corridor really is a hindrance as well.

Do you happen to have any throwable items, holy water for example? Against undead (and I'm pretty sure we're fighting undead) it would be helpful.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Ah, it seems our cleric has returned. Channel away Luthor, smite the zombies! (I'm assuming they're undead of course)
Seeing an opportunity to strike the grappled Mr Marrow, Rogdar takes another swing.
Waraxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 161d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
(Funny how whenever I actually manage to hit something, the damage is always pitiful. Oh well.)

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

The map looks fine to me. A pity we seem to have lost a few players.

As for the spell...
For one thing 'fine' sized is VERY small (the size of an army ant). I suspect any vial is considerably larger than that.

If it is allowed, a fort save should be allowed to negate:

Core Rules p.174 wrote:

touched, or worn) makes saving throws as the character

Sorry guys. To be fair I did TRY diplomacy, but Rogdar sucks at it. Plus he's kind of a lunatic.

Anyway, Rogdar has fallen back. I'll let you guys decide whether to charge up or pull Mr Marrows back down the corridor. I suspect the guy giving the orders will be providing support next round, possibly via spells, so we need to drop his goon as quickly as possible.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

"Fight me ya coward!" Rogdar snarls at the man as he retreats.
Blocking the blow from 'Mr Marrows' with ease, the dwarf gives a roar and counterattacks.
Waraxe: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Learning from the previous encounter, Rogdar remembered how him being in front helped protect the team, but prevented others from attacking.
With his shield raised against his foe Rogdar makes an orderly retreat.
Rogdar moves back to Room 26 (the closest available space). This will provoke an attack of opportunity from Mr Marrows.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Initiative Check:
init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

I suspect that ends diplomacy.
"Ah, is that a threat lad?" Rogdar grins broadly at the figure.
"Try to take 'im alive." He mutters to his companions.
With that, he hefts his axe and rushes at the hunchback.
Not wanting to kill the man outright, Rogdar attempts to subdue him instead. (nonlethal)
Waraxe (nonlethal): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d10 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
(And, of course, fumbles as usual)

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Rogdar gives Az'Avis a curious look.
"This 'ere is the ferst human we be seein' in this dank pit of a dungeon. Let's find out wot he knows."
Rogdar turns to the strange hunched fellow.
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (11) - 3 = 8 (Yeah, that's what I though)
"Oi! Hunchback! We got questions fer ya. We're 'ere to find out who's been stealin' bodies from them Pharasmin priests upstairs. Don't s'pose you know anythin' 'bout that?"
Dwarf diplomacy at its best!

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Rogdar gives the druid a toothy grin.
"Aye. Let's git at 'em."
With that, he readies his waraxe and leads the group into the room, prepared for combat.
"Oi! Ye be friend er foe? Speak, or ye be in fer trouble!" He snarls at whoever is in the chamber.

I'm in Sydney and have never been to Tassie, something I definitely need to do sometime. Shame about the lack of Pathfinder (and other games) though.
Welcome back Keith, glad Gencon went okay for you.

Once Paewyn points out the secret door, Rogdar stands next to it, ready to open the way.
(Just wanted to give the party a heads-up, just in case they disagree or need to time to prep)

I'll have Marchello go again
mace attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 71d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
*Sigh*
Marchello takes a 5ft step forward (now standing over the shattered bone fragments of the fallen undead), hoping to work his way around the second skeleton for a flank.
Another melee combatant can get at the undead now

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Disappointed by his previous effort, but noticing the effectiveness of Marchello's mace, Rogdar drops his waraxe and brings his warhammer to bear. He gives Delphinia an appreciative nod at the buff spell.
Warhammer attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Damnit.

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

I'll do it.
Marchello charges at the other skeleton, heavy mace at the ready.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

I think those stats are right: +2 attack for str, +1 weapon focus; +1 damage due to trait, +3 dmg for using mace two handed.
EDIT: My bad. Forgot the +2 bonus for charging.
So:
Attack: 16 Damage: 9

Silver Crusade

Male Dwarf 1 Fighter /3 Monk HP 44/44 | AC20| T17 | FF16 | Fort+8 | Ref+5 | Will+6 (+5 vs spells) | CMD23 | Init+2 | Perc+11, Sense Motive +8

Not concerned with the darkness, Rogdar bellows out a laugh at the opportunity of combat, hurling himself at the two skeletons.
Waraxe attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 151d10 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12 Charge bonus included.

I intend to weather the storm as Rogdar moves forward. The way I see it, the foes can make one more shot before melee.
As such, Rogdar will double move forward (40ft, sorry, not the 20ft as mentioned before)

Silver Crusade

He was shot at from outside his 60ft darkvision? Or was it from a trap? For now, I'll assume from down the corridor.
Rogdar snarls as an arrow pierces his armor at the arm. Cursing, he yanks the shaft out.
"Come out an' fight us ya cowards!" He calls down the corridor at the imagined foes.
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17 (Init check if necessary)
When he can, Rogdar will move 20ft down the corridor, weapons drawn.

I strongly suggest that Rogdar goes first. Lacking a rogue, we need a meat shield in front.

"Still don't trust this place. I'll cover the corridor 'ere." Rogdar mutters and enters the corridor.
Call me paranoid but I don't like the circular room one bit. So Rogdar will move 5ft into the corridor to keep an eye on things on the other side. It looks safe enough though."

Provided Paewyn has managed to secure the rope, Rogdar makes his way across the ledge (he drops the end of the rope, but still keeps one hand on the trail as he walks... just in case).
