Rodrick brushes aside the look and continues walking. "I said Zacharia. I watched him die some time ago and I wish to know why." he gives Sebastian a glance over his shoulder "...if that helps clear things up."

"No doubt he deserved it, and a thousand more deaths besides. Fortunately his current health has no bearing. If not he, then his daughter will answer for the fate of Zacharia."

I have plenty of opportunities for development, sure, but nothing that really applies in the situations we've encountered so far, I feel. I wasn't complaining about the marching order, just to be clear. Wanted to comment that that is where I inserted some RP, and Jura responded appropriately which was nice.

Rodrick searches the nearby brush for edible roots or other hardy plant life. A stew would need flavor of some kind, even if it was just a few sprigs of grass.

Well, you piled us all into a marching formation/party and I retconned to say that I had been following the group. He confronted me about that. Good times were had. Then we moved on to survival checks. I like minimalist storytelling. It seems you have a specific idea in mind for how you want all characters to go, but I think I've been pretty candid since the beginning in saying that Rodrick is not one for long, drawn-out conversations. I'm not trying to spoil your game, but there's a possibility of a severe miscommunication with what I thought I'd be able to get out of this game.

Well, my choice of conflict to instigate RP is combat. I haven't seen a lot of scenes that I wanted to attach too so far, but in all honesty not much of anything has really happened so far. That's how I frame my character's development and interactions with others and the world around him. Bar scenes or idle conversations usually aren't my thing. I will admit that it does seem like things are taking a while longer then Im used to. I think I concluded my actions in the tavern like, what, a week before everyone else?

"I have business with the Count..." says Rodrick flatly, pushing the sword away with a bandaged hand. "It will be dark soon, you should not travel at night."

Rodrick carries the momentum of the kick into an upward slash with his bastard sword. Bastard Sword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
No good rolls

Rodrick pushes the wolf away with his foot and hefts his sword. This time he strikes true, cleanly cleaving the creature. Bastard Sword: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Kn Geography: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15 Rodrick was not afraid of the dark. What thibgs lay waiting in the dark were another matter entirely, so he holds a torch aloft to fight off the fog. He takes the path towards the late Counts domain, as best he can remember.

Something clicks in Rodricks head at yet another mention of the Count goes through the room. He'd been there once, and he'd been unconsciously wandering this way. Maybe he should keep following that path? Rodrick empties his plate and returns it to Adelaide. With a final nod to the kind woman, he heads for the door. Ready to move to the counts place

I'm sorry, I must have missed something of significance. I didn't glean anything from eavesdropping that would indicate where to head next OOC. Has anybody else picked up on something?

Rodrick takes his breakfast alone. The owners kindness had started to have an effect on him and he felt the slightest pang of guilt. He had opted to take what seemed less labor intensive breakfast and ate in silence, wondering how he could repay the favor. Perhaps he would help her be rid of the pest that was bothering her patrons?

Rodrick heads to his own room to turn in for the evening. He leaves the lantern unlit, taking solace in the darkness. He lies down to rest almost immediately, though he knows that it will be some time before the wraiths that plague him allow him to drift away to sleep.

Rodrick scowls beneath his wrappings. He thumbs his one remaining gold coin in his pocket with dissatisfaction. He avoids eye contact with the woman and grumbles "Don't have it..." He turns away from the bar and heads for the door. Another night in the wilderness.

Having finished his meal, Rodrick decides to retire for the evening. The antics of the other patrons were starting to interfere with his self-loathing, which is how he had hoped to spend the remainder of the day. He gather hus belongings and quickly leaves his seat, shouldering his way through the inn until he makes it to the bar. Along the way he musters an angry glare at the spritely creature but swiftly averts his gaze, fearing that he may draw its attention otherwise. He makes it to the bar and finds the owner. "How much for a night?" he asks.
Male CN Human Fighter (Weapon Master) | HP: 15/15 | AC: 16 (12 Tch, 14 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F: +6, R: +2, W: +1 | Init: +4 | Perc: -1 | Speed 30ft |
Rodrick looks up long enough to acknowledge the man speaking, as well as the fey creature that had been bothering him. Satisfied that the bar was decidedly not haunted he blows air out his nose and returns to his meal.

Rodrick ignores the speech from the bartender. He had no love lost for Kushans. Truth be told he'd run more through than shook hands with, and that was the way he liked it. But he doesn't have him to care either way in this particular instance. Instead he turns to his meal, feeling something akin to gratitude. He starts to peel away his covering and considers that, while he could not watch the fire to distract himself, at least its light could not find him and his wretched features. Still, he does not risk any more exposure than necessary and instead begins his meal in earnest.

Satisfied with the situation, Rodrick finds himself a seat at one of the free tables and sets his belongings down, alongside a couple of pieces of silver in the hopes the bartender would simply bring him a meal and spare him the conversation. Until then he slumps in his seat and watches the fire.

Rodrick approached the inn. Night was drawing close, with it the cold. He shoulders his pack though its weight is little more than surrogate for the burden he felt in his heart. He didn't pay any attention to the fey creature hanging by the place. He hardly cared. Only when he was close enough to hear the angry shouting and angry voices from within did he have a thought cross his mind, and it was only to draw the covers on his face further. He slams the door open. Loud enough to draw attention. He takes in the room, standing in the doorway at his full height. Watching, waiting, seeing if anyone wanted to test a strangers mood. His hand twitches expectantly.

Of course most races have their advantages in one area or another. For example, I have a spellslinger/eldritch archer build that benefits the most from being an elf. The thing about humans is that they're never not good. There really isn't a situation where a bonus feat at level 1 isn't awesome and the floating +2 means they can pick up any class combination and perform. Also, and this is just a personal thing for me, they're the "assumed race" of most settings. They don't usually have to deal with any social stuff like a half-orc or a kobold and they can do anything and go anywhere without being too out of place.
