About Robert Thornwall

An orphan, Robert was taken in by the church of Pharasma in Thurshmore, on the shores of lake Encarthan, at a young age after his family had perished after a famine. Robert found that he was fascinated by the church’s knowledge and even found some of their martial practices to his liking, but found that he had too much resentment to the lady of graves for taking his family from him to find the path to becoming a cleric. Still he made himself useful to the clerics and learned much from their small but diverse library. Liking books more than he liked people, Robert would often neglect his duties for a chance at a book that he had not yet read yet. The Pharasman's seeing his desire to consume knowledge sent the young Robert to the Sincomakti school in Ustalav’s city of Rozenport. There he apprenticed with the librarians and continued his studies all the while continuing to practice the defensive staff fighting taught to him by the Pharasmans at an early age. Finding that he was able to combine his martial training with the arcane knowledge of the Sincomakti school library in a way that no one there could Robert grew restless, knowing that there was no one to help him learn more about this path of the Magus. Robert left Rozenport to seek out the Pathfinder Society. He read some of their exploits while working in the library and felt that they would allow him to grow and learn in the real world and not just in the worlds he found in the pages of the books that he treasured.
