st: I head up the escape with the body then.
st: I wait to see if they see me, and if they do, I book it upwards. But if they dont see me then I keep still.
st: ok I'll spend the blood on the second jump which would put me at 4 successes
ST: i guess if it IS possible to try again with my celerity then here we go. oh and i guess i did have 1 automatic success from Potence before.
so that would be 3 more successes, or i use my celerity to get further up? when you split dice pools can you also take a move action?
ST: looks like no successes. Does celerity allow me to roll again since i can do two things without splitting my pools?
ST: ok so my plan is to dash to an alley (i figure a man running at 60mph is going to be hard to identify. not to mention early 90s is the heyday of crack in chicago so who is gonna believe the crackheads on the street or anyone claiming to have seen someone moving at highway speeds). once in the alley i will go all the way up the fire escape after jumping up to it, and then once on the roof if people follow me i'll rip the ladder right off the building.
"Call me if you have a better idea to control this idiot!" Rick calls behind him.
ST: I'll use celerity still. Worst case someone sees me but it's late so I figure just hobos are out. If I see some folks do I have to stop to use patience on them to make them ignore me and/or hinder the others? Or can I just speak to them as I run by?
ST: how high can I jump? I dont wanna do the metro, too obvious and hard to deal with carrying a dude. I was thinking maybe run fast, take another alley, leap up to a fire escape and lay low while the rest run around.

sorry for the sudden behavior from Rick, it's kinda a character motivation thing. if your character would attack him for it, i also understand. Vampires will be vampires.
"sounds good. Thanks Kate. Let me know if you need anything from me. For now, we need to take care of this. I will not side with someone willing to use me for fodder. I'll see you all later." With that said, Rick hefts up Sheriff's body holding the stake in, and flees as fast as his powers can take him through the shadows.
"Something's not up to snuff. Someone did something and erased their participation. I think Sheriff had a part of that and is looking to sell us up the river to cover his own ass."
Rick looks at Sheriff's body with joy. Serves the c*#*&@@&!+ right. "Who sent you, who are the oppressors?" Rick asks, pumping his celerity and standing defensively over Sheriff's body with a foot on the stake to keep it in for now. "And what have you done with the Prince?"
"Youre gonna have to make the deal a whole lot sweeter than a 'maybe', Sheriff."
Rick will follow.
While Sherrif faces Kate, Rick mouths to her "yes" while nodding his head.
"Honestly, I wanna buy some drinks for some nice ladies and then drink while the BAC is high."
"I'm just waiting for this game to come to its inevitable end."
Rick says nothing.
"How did you come by such authority, Sheriff? You say a lot of seemingly baseless, if not outright dumb things. I'm surprised Lodin would allow such a blowhard to possess such clout."
Rick, glad that Kate had made a breakthrough of any sort, waits for her to continue with her revelation.
"So someone has the power to hide from security cams and erase themselves from someone's memory. Maybe even plant false ones, considering how obtuse some people are being."
"Surely you cannot believe we would, for starters, have a chance against a prince; and for second, had anything to do with something that clearly happened before we even made it to this city." Rick takes a last look around before following Sheriff.
To Sheriff, Rick replies, "Honestly I haven't had any trouble under the rules. My skills make it easy to feed discreetly, and people mostly leave me alone. Until now, anyway."
ST: do i have anarch connections? this is my first vampire game that i actually got to play so i dunno if im affiliated. basically not sure if my sire is, since i mostly was just doing what i was told and wasting my potential prior to this mission
"ah youre right, forgive me i am new here and disoriented from our forced trip. As for twinkies, i guess you gotta make unlife worth living. So you are the big important right hand man here? and Ballard the left? How does this structure work around here?"
"Sheriff, what is your favorite food? And how can you even eat that stuff?"
Rick spends his time distracting Sheriff whenever he tries to get to the task at hand or interfere with the others. Bugging him with questions, nearly breaking things, putting his shoes up on the table and other things to generally aggravate Sheriff whenever he tries to leave.
"Sheriff, certainly a man of your astute intellect knows exactly what that blood means. If you have it examined and it turns out to be ours, then you could have us killed right on the spot. If you really don't want that, why not just take a load off on a couch somewhere? You don't need to bother yourself."
Rick responds to Kate, "Yeah, he's f#+!ing useless. Just some fat f+&& they let act like he is in charge for some reason. Let's get to the real bottom of this."
hmm might save up a few more for a 3rd dot in Presence
"Sheriff, come now. You know we got here after all of this happened. Surely no one could alter your memory, as powerful as you are. Unless you are saying that someone could do so, which is why you could possibly think we did something so far above our pay grade."
Rick just watches the scene unaware of Natasha's feelings, stands around and waits for Kate to get her read of the place.
Rick stands back, letting Sheriff do the talking and Kate do the seeing. He will wait for a moment to get Natasha alone.
"She's helping." Rick says in a convincing tone. "It was your idea, remember? You said you didn't want us making things worse."
Rick waves her over to the largest gathering of the group to fill her in on what has happened, leaving nothing out except who he called just prior to Kate's arrival.
"Perfect. Since you know me, what else do you know about what we are trying to do? I don't want to waste any time, nor do we have time to waste."
"Who among us are you looking for?"
Rick waves to her.
ST: "Ah, I suppose that makes more sense than a Prince actually dying." Rick says, walking out a ways until he can see the nearest street sign to provide his location.
call: "Yes. I don't know what happened, we just got here and couldn't have done it. To me, sound's like if anyone did it, he did, and is trying to deflect. But who'll listen to us. We have some time to clear our name but we are being watched by the enemy. You know anyone with the ability to help us clear our name, find out who really did it? Otherwise we are toast."
Rick's call.: "It's Rick, for Anita."
Rick is quick to feed and then steps away from the others to make a call to his Sire. ST: [ooc]in the context of the game rules i dont know what NO boon means, but i will call Anita to arrange for Auspex assistance.
"I suppose I'll try on my own before indebting myself further." ST: Yeah I'll make that call when I can get some privacy. I think auspex will be very needed here
