Richard quickly reloads his weapon once again as the thing falls, "Well then that settles it, don't it. This beast wanted a test of strength and got it, can't blame us for being good. Aye, lets drag this thing back to town but ... want to look around a bit? Maybe it has a little spot of treasure laying around." the gunslinger suggests as the group recovers from the combat.

◇) Free Stride 10'
Slightly surprised at the speed of the creature, Richard dashes a few paces to get a clear shot, firing, reloading and firing again while glaring at the monster with a nasty smile gracing his normally friendly face. Attack, Clan Pistol, first attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
Demoralize: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 Attack 2, Clan Pistol: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

Yes, I can draw my gun, which I already have done. I also get a free 10' move, but its at the start of my first turn, not on initiative like I had initially thought.

”Right then. It still wants to fight.” Richard notes, focusing on the thing and gripping his pistol. ”Well, it’s about that time then, yeah?”

Richard starts a bit at the statement from Frey. "Wait one, you're telling me it wants to work a deal? I mean I'm always up for a deal, and I've dealt with many strange blokes in my day, even a cyclops once, but never a ... that. I say we give it a try, better to work a deal and get everyone paid then all the blood guts and burnt powder, right? Though, I do wonder if we get paid if we bring it back. Poster said to kill it, ya? Ah, why not, lets try it."

Richard eyes the thing warily as one of the group members starts to talk to the thing. As he grips his pistol and watches the exchange, he mutters to Frey in a low voice, "Mind filling in the rest of the class.. you know, when you get a moment." Delay until this conversation ends or it attacks, or Frey says to shoot it

Does this creature look close enough to the wanted picture to surmise it’s the thing we are looking for? Also, have we rolled initiative yet (I’m guessing no) since that gives me a free 10 stride when we do, also Richard gets a +2 on his initiative check

Richard eyes the cave critically, all traces for his jovial slick talking self vanishing under a serious demeanor. ”I don’t like the idea that ice fall wasn’t natural. Wonder what else we’ll find in there.” he growls as he hefts his pistol. ”Shall we?”

As the sleds take off Richard grips his pistol and tries to keep a keen eye out, repressing his urge to regale his sled partner with a never ending stream of stories and tales of his explorations and adventures, some of them even true, in the name of trying to keep reasonably quiet and focused. Ok, that actually makes it a lot clearer. That won’t work for me, I’ll have to search with perception. I’m guessing Scout or Avoid Notice won’t work with the sleds, correct?

Richard will hold his pistol in one hand (if he does not need both for the sled) and stick with Investigate as his action. No vision mods, regular vision no low light or darkvison

Though that doesn’t say what it does, implication seems to be that it would be some type of aid, or maybe just avoid failing a skill check. Yeah that seems more like what it says on second thought. Though investigate or search would probably fit my skills better anyway.

Oops, there it is in advanced alchemy Quote: You don't need to attempt a Crafting check to do this… Quote: How does this work? I wasn’t sure, maybe just in case there’s a nature check on the sled to follow, I’m new to some of these concepts on 2e, so have some patience with me :)

Richard nods along at Frey's comments, like he's agreeing with all of his points and not totally out of his element out here in nature. "Right you are, sounds like you have it well in hand. I'll be needing some warmer clothes before we set out." I'll cede any nature or survival planning to folks who's characters have any clue about that stuff :) Exploration: - Richard will ride with Telua - He is a bog standard human with normal vision - scouting and stealth seem out with the dogsled situation, so he'll either invesitgate/search (better path, pitfall, monster, etc) or follow the expert (Telua) while on the dogsleds.

"Of course good sir, of course. One has to run a business after all. Allow me to confer with my friends here." Richard offers placatingly as the man steps away and the little group huddles up. As they do he starts out in a low voice, "Gods blast it, swindled by a swindler, it hurts the pride I tells ya. We should just leave this thrice gods forsaken fleaspeck of a pustule on the south end of the northern ranges and let these yokels kill this beast themselves, or get eaten more like." he growls, letting his friendly façade slip a bit and show the much more dangerous person underneath. Sighing, he continues, "but, sleds will undoubtedly be a far better bet than trudging through all that snow, and there IS a bounty, and we are already all here and together. I say we just pay the crook and be done with it." he finishes, oily smile and friendly voice back in place.

Rick, or was it Slick, notes both the gleam and glimmer in the sled salesman's eye with practiced skill, smiling briefly, then looking pensive. "Sure, sleighs would probably be good and you're right, we would be needing about a pair. But, really my fine friend, 5 silver a piece? Even up here that seems a might high. You see, I've seen a fine sleigh or two, and more than my fair share of sled dogs, in fact I saw quite the sight travelling in Irrisen, sleighs you could dream about. Fancy decorated sides, dogs the size of houses, runners so slick they almost ran themselves. You could outrun Baba Yaga herself and have time to spare. And THEY only charged 2 silver a piece. I don't suppose your sleds are fast enough to outpace a goddess are they? Do your dogs run on hellfire and surliness? Come now my man, we can surely find a more fair price that will leave us all grinning and laughing." and again leaning in and talking low and cozy, like to a good friend or confidant, "Maybe a little extra for a few tankards when this all is done, eh?" he finishes. I don't have diplomacy, but then again Slick Rick has never been to Irrisen, so I'm thinking Deception might work? Deception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

As the small group gathers around the poster, a human gets up from a corner table where he had sat unnoticed and approaches. He seems both plain and bland, simple breeches and undershirt with a long jacket covering. Under the open jacket is a worn boiled leather vest, and various straps criss-cross his torso. Also from beneath the jacket and slightly jutting out is a worn, yet well maintained, wooden grip of a pistol. As he approaches he offers a smile, a seemingly warm smile yet not quite right. Like the grin of a used carriage salesman who knows he's going to pull one over on you. "Greetings! I couldn't help but overhear you talking about killing some beast and just had to come offer my help. Richard is the name, Richard Marsh. Some call me Rick, some call me Slick. Some even call me Slick Rick." he lowers his voice and adds in a conspiratorial tone "but between you and me, I don't much like that name, seems undignified don't it?" brightening back up, "Right, so as I said, I hear you talking about killing some dragon and I get to thinking that I'm feeling a little bored and this sounds interesting. I have a roving foot, ya see, and like to go where I go and see what I see, and I end up here, a far walk from the Shackles, wouldn't you know it." looking over at Telua, "Aye, I'm from The Shackles too, Port Peril in fact. Even got 'ol Bessie here." he indicates the grip of the pistol jutting out from his coat, "got 'er from a dear friend of mine, dwarven smith, they say its bad honor or luck or whateva to lose your clan pistol, but the old goat couldn't shoot no more and he had another and I helped him out this one time and ... anyway, I don't fancy pirating and I don't really like boats, and I wanted to see the world so I packed up and started a wandering, and here we are. As you may guess, I got this gun here to shoot things, and I've been known to walk quietly from time to time, also not half bad at a game of cards if you all are looking to lose some coin, no, right we are talking about a dragon aren't we." he finally finishes, leaving no room for interruption during his tirade.
