Rex pulls a small bundle of fine cloth out of his pack. He unwraps the bundle to reveal an aged but finely crafted wooden box with ornate carvings of myriad fantastic creatures and objects. He lifts the hinged lid and withdraws a worn deck of cards, which he carefully passes to Valentina. "This harrow deck was with me when I was found near the Worldwound. Perhaps it might be better suited to a reading about my past."

Rex picks up one of the tanglefoot bags and replies to Valentina, "I have never used one of these before, but I can give go."

He then turns to the rest of the group, "Valentina has good plan. Maybe we barricade this secret door with boxes," Rex points to the secret door in the northern wall (door c). "Then we also block these main doors and door to guard room, so Kortos and Aspis agents must enter through loading bay."

Edit: I just realized that this is probably a surprise round and I won't have enough actions to draw the dew of lunary and use it. So I will mind thrust without the dew of lunary this round, and I will use it in the casting during the next round. (It's unfortunate, because that fifth die rolled a "6".)

This man is a psychopath, he thinks to himself.

He clears his throat again, "Perhaps you can give us sample of this new drug of yours, so we may take back to our investors? We will pay you for your trouble."

Rex cannot see the man ahead, but he calls back through the darkness. "We have come to find alchemist who dwells in these tunnels. Can you help us, sir?"

Which, by the way, makes for a handy signaling device that I've used in a scenario before. Cast light on a stone, give the stone to your friend, go your separate ways. When you are ready to signal your friend, cast another instance of light. His light goes out. ATTACK!

If you can both cast light, even better, because he can signal back.

I have never seen another like yourself, Rex responds to Valentina, but only in his own head.

Unaccustomed to anyone asking questions about his past, Rex can only stammer back to her, "I... I... I don't know where I found it." He pauses... "I... can't remember." His head drops slightly.

Oh, fair lady, how I wish I had those answers.

Rex pulls a small multi-faceted crystal from a coat pocket. As he holds it up, it seems to glow with its own light, shining with the colors of the rainbow, and illuminating the area around him to a dim level of light. "I found this in my travels in Numeria. It is handy in situations such as this."

If I understand your description correctly, we are headed to the left (west)? If so, I think the marching order looks correct.

When Rex catches up to the others outside the Overflowing Oyster, he approaches Magmara and Soleil. "Nice job on ruse, ladies. But, Soleil, did you have to put your whole weight into that slap? I will be feeling it clear into next week."

I decided to change the plan a bit on the fly. This seems more melodramatic, like a soap opera. lol

At the questions of the relationship between the two consortia, waves of memories suddenly flood Rex's mind.

He immediately speaks his knowledge, without thought, as the memories come to him. "There is no formal alliance between Kortos Consortium and Aspis Consortium. Two groups are likely working together in limited capacity—at least for time being."

Why do I know this?

He pauses slightly before continuing, "Although Aspis Consortium seems to have agreement with part of Kortos Consortium, neither group is centralized enough for such arrangement to be very stable. Causing major disruption in their operation would very likely sever ties between two groups."

Have I been here before?
