Have you watched Arcane on Netflix? If yes, what are you thoughts so far? If no, what's keeping you from it?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

So in the vein of the cycle of souls and the afterlife, my understanding of the cycle is thus:

A soul is shaped from the matter of the Positive Energy Plane, a mortal is born, and receives that soul.

They live, they die, they're judged, and sent to their appropriate afterlife.

Assuming that their soul isn't destroyed by some means (undeath, being eaten by a deamon, ect.), they become a petitioner, and eventually become an outsider associated with that plane, such as a devil, an archon, or whatever.

Since the body and soul of these outsiders are one thing, when the body dies, so does the soul. So my questions are:

Does anything else happen to that soul after this point?

What is Pharasma's stance on the killing of these outsiders, as it seems that it's effectively destruction of souls? Like, if there was some incredibly powerful lunatic Wizard running around from plane to plane slaughtering masses of outsiders, would Pharasma have any specific interest in stopping them?

Hi James, I'm looking for advice on 2e hero points.

I feel like I don't probably give them out enough as I've had sessions where I haven't given out any. I feel like I'm still stuck in the mindset from 1e where they were supposed to be a bit more rare, should I be more liberal with my awarding of them? How often do you tend to find yourself giving out Hero Points, and how many have you felt is a good amount to award in a given session?

Also a lore question: How many people are there who have achieved true immortality (a-la Duke Panivar Lotheed, who was effectively immortal)

If this expands out to include ALL settings for ALL games, it'd be:

1: Baria (my homebrew)
2: Unspeakable Futures (my post-apocalyptic homebrew)
3: Golarion
4: Earth (as it exists in Call of Cthulhu)
5: Greyhawk

Have you considered putting out anything on your Baria or Unspeakable Futures settings (or have you already)? What kind of setting is Baria?

This asked with the understanding, of course, that you probably only want to focus on publishing things for a single setting at a time.

Do many history museums that are open to the public (with or without a fee) exists in Golarion? If so, where would they likely be? I assume that there would probably be some in Taldor, it being such an old and historied country, but what about other places?

What about other similar things like public libraries or art museums?

Are you excited for Wrath of the Righteous moving to Beta?

Do you plan on playing it in any significant capacity, or do think you won't really be able to enjoy it due to knowing the story to well?

Are there plans to bring the Kineticist back in 2e, either as its own base-class, or as a sub-class/dedication on some other class? Or did that happen already and I just missed it? I really liked the flavor of the class, but the 1e mechanics never seemed to match up to how the class was supposed to feel.

Second question (or third, I guess): Have you ever been inspired by things you find on the forum, and brought them into the official lore/rules?

People from America are Americans, and people from Earth are Earthlings. Is there a general term for the people of Golarion?

The Golarianish? Golariani? Golarions?

Hi again James! Can you point me in the direction of where I can go (or what book I should pick up) to read about how the team came to a decision on how certain 1e AP's ended in specific ways for the lore continuation into 2e? That probably doesn't read very clearly, lets try again: Is there a place I can go to read about why events went the way they did for 2e lore?

Hi again James! I don't know if you like to speculate like this, but how do you think things would have gone if Wizards had decided to renew the license for Dungeon magazine and Dragon magazine? Would things have turned out drastically different, or maybe things would still be in the same track, just at a different point?

So this part of your response brought up a question. What percentage of your Homebrew content makes it to official publication?
Hmmm... I'd guess somewhere between 25% and 50%.

Neat, that's actually more than I was expecting. Follow-up questions (if you don't mind):

What about other staff that run home games; does much come in from them, anything especially worth mentioning?

What metrics do you use to decide what you want published and what you don't? (how cool it is, how much fun it was, a certain je ne sais quoi, some eldritch combination of the three?)
