ok, i'm back from my various trips out of town. going to have to play catch up

Back, but haven't had a chance to catch up, read through and understand where we are at.

I'm out for the weekend.

"Well then black for me it is then!"

Mal slipped into a black secguard uniform. After getting used to it he had to admit that he felt rather smart in it. He pondered wearing his blaster openly, but decided against it. No need to invite any more attention.

It ain't just the three of us?

"Black it is then" and also gets into the uniform. He turns around, "Ok, you are all under arrest" he says with a grin.

Rel shrugs, "Works for me"

"Does the maintenance droid know where the crystals are or how to get there?

Blasts away at the walls..

hit: 5d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 5, 5, 1) + (2) = 25
damage: 5d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 5, 1, 5) = 19
hit: 5d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 4, 3) + (5) = 19
damage: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 6, 3) = 19

Er, which rolls? I went back and looked, did I miss a roll?

lol, guess not

Looks startled over at Honey, "er, thanks... "

"if we are using blaster fire, then we need to make sure we don't run down the juice." he says while pulling out is blaster to take a sighting. With the external noise, he takes a shot at the foundation to see just how brittle it might be

damage: 4d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 3, 6) + (5) = 18

"So where'd the kid take us?

Looks over the shoulders of Honey and Tavin, "so whats the prognosis?" then looking at the others, "So whats the plan?"

Shrugs, "We didnt ask to be attacked with lethal force in the middle of the bazaar, or even onboard a ship".

He tunrs to Martya, "Not sure how we will remove him from the equation, that may be a spur of the moment type of decision." He pauses the continues, "What HONEEP0T says is true, but our employers also have need and not for mere diamond hunting."

Shrugs, "I'm in... not sure outright murder is in the equation, but certainly making sure this guy and corporation isn't in a position they are now is good with me."

Tavin's around.. just recent hiccup.

We going to look for replacements for Dak and Warren?

"So you want us to assasinate Matok?" he asks then pauses, "so do you know where these crystals are? Or have an "in" inside the Davik corporation?

Waves away at Martya gesturing to her to keep her weapon, "Its fine, keep it." He looks about, "Best we get going before and try and get some answers"

Nods, "yeah I agree" as he looks about and then over to the assertive female. "For now, I'm good to go with you... you seem more forthcoming about explanations than other recent individuals I've encountered."

streetwise: 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + (5) = 12

Rel checks his streetwise

Helps Honey up by offering a hand after taking in the explosion. He looks around, "make sure that other woman comes with us too... think she might be able to share some intel on what we stumbled into."

Takes the improvised bomb and tosses it over the obstacles and at the malcontents.

toss using 1cp: 4d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 1) + (3) = 12

er... wouldn't this just be throwing over their cover? its not necessarily going throw it.

just looking at it, I'd probably go for just behind the pink/blue/female blue, white area

I'm willing to throw... my dice suck though usually

oops, yeah... fine I'll soak and run to grab mal

soak: 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 3) + (6) = 10

net 3?

Dodges as an reaction
Moves as an action
Drags Mal down the corridor after the woman.

dodge: 3d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 2) + (1) = 9

Couldn't find any item where it says reactions end at end of the round...

but anyways, if thats the ruling, thats fine. Makes full round dodge/parry/etc. not all that useful if our side loses initiative.

GM Therenger wrote:
Your cover faces north, and they're all on rhe level above you shooting down. You're only getting cover from the people inside the cantina.

I don't know that we have enough fidelity to cover to know that - maybe we need to get it called out when the cover is taken and reminded?

Dodge thing is just being painful.

GM Therenger wrote:
Rel takes full round Dodge

mmms... I took the dodge I had already reserved and paid for in the previous round, not a full dodge this round

dodge from previous: 2d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 4) + (1) = 10

np

blaster pink: 3d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1) + (2) = 5
damage: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 6, 6, 6) = 26

well suck

Dodges and shoots over at a white guy twice, "Hey, shouldn't you be running like your ancient so-called leader?" he mocks.

dodge and blaster shot at white and one a pink

blaster: 3d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) + (5) = 11
damage: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 2, 1, 1) = 12
one at a time

taking it that the old man ran up the stairs that are behind pink and onto the roof?

Ok, not sure I'm still 100% clear... but yeah pbp and f2f, etc. don't work the same.

Meh. 5.0 didn't start the action economy gig... pure D&D line that was more or less 3.0

Re: Reactions..

True it is an action and is penalized, but in this case it occurs in the opponents phase not my phase. So how do I know what actions I am going to take?

In this case because of php, I could decide to do the reaction and that I was on my side doing only a single action. Thus I'd know its -2D.

However in f2f, I'd do a reaction during their phase which would be full dice at that time. Then when my side came up, obviously I'd be at a -1D

And if its the inverse initiative? If I already declared my actions, its not like I can go back and penalize my actions when taking a reaction? So in that case is reaction (total actions -1 + 1 * dice)?

i.e. I did 3 actions in my phase, so I'm at -2D to all. Now opponents go, and they shoot. I can take a reaction if I want, so is that -3D?

Never really played the revised rules only 1st and 2nd edition - and the one revised rules campaign I was in had tons of house rules.

Revised editions removed the 'Declaration' step... but yeah didn't do a good job with explanations.

GM Therenger wrote:
Greff you rolled 1D too many for each of your blaster shots. Rel, same thing for Dodge, but you rolled 1D less than you could have for your heavy blaster. Don't re-roll, I'll take your dice in order. Also, I would appreciate if we would get in the habit of declaring all actions for the round when it begins. I don't need much, just "2x Blaster Pistol," etc. It doesn't make a big difference right now, when the thugs are only taking one action per round, but in the future, or if you're fighting a boss, you could take a hit, which could affect the number of dice you are able to roll for subsequent actions.

huh? you asked for a dodge roll.. I made did the dodge roll which would have been a reaction. And then I did my actions taking into account, erring on side of caution, that it was an action to overturn table and then the dodge action.

Dexterity covers several “reaction skills,” which are used to
avoid or block attacks. When your character is attacked and you
roll a “reaction skill,” the attacker’s difficulty number is now
whatever you roll.
There are several reaction skills: acrobatics, brawling parry,
dodge and melee parry. Lightsaber can also be used to parry
attacks. The many vehicle operation and starship piloting skills —
they’re all under Mechanical — can also be used for “vehicle
dodges” to avoid enemy fire.

Reaction Skills. When a character gets attacked, he
can react by trying to get out of the way: the most common
reaction skills are acrobatics, dodge, melee parry and
brawling parry.
A character can wait until he’s attacked to use a reaction
skill.
The character can use up any remaining actions for a
reaction or have the reaction be an extra action, accepting
the higher multiple action penalty for the rest of the
round.
The reaction skill roll is in effect for the rest of the
round and replaces the original difficulty number. (Even if
the difficulty number was higher — sometimes characters
“zig” when they should have “zagged.”)
(Reaction skills are only used in combat. See Chapter
Five, “Combat & Injuries,” for a complete explanation.)
pg79

"or have the reaction be an extra action, accepting
the higher multiple action penalty for the rest of the
round"

That's what I did... should have declared that better to your point.

here is the wild dice roll for the dodge then

wild: 1d6 ⇒ 3

Dumps over the table in front of Honey to use as cover for both him and Honey, at least from the left side.

"Your type of Family", emphasis on the word, "isn't worth dying for... drop your arms and lets talk over a cold one!" he calls out.

Fires at the yellow one

blaster: 3d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 1) + (2) = 6
damage: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 4, 1, 6) = 18

dodge: 4d6 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 2, 6) + (6) = 25

Retconning momentarily.

"Alright, I'll just cause a distraction while you're doing your little thing, Mal, you care to join me after your shopping trip? I'll go scout out the warehouse. "

So what exactly is the plan? Honey gets a job as tech support to get access and hack them, and the rest of us work on stealing from the warehouse (with most getting jobs to infiltrate and me and mal distracting?). Just double checking.

Mal was going to gambling, I was going to the bazaar, and I think we were both going to get decks... since this isn't sabbac, which I have some skill at, its a who knows if Mal gets the card by skill/luck, or just beats the man down for it.

Not sure why you want to steal from the warehouse... seems that best course it so convince the Imps that this is crap, and get it sold to the Rebellion.

Maybe just be arm candy for Mal, so if **** hits the fan he has some firepower. :)

Taro Afar == DMW.

but you are supposed to be this great team

except one that doesn't actually know that.

perception: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) = 12
streetwise: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3) = 15

"Pazaak isn't my game, but worth a try"... he looks about, "so might as well hit up the Bazaar". With that he gets up to make to the door to head out.

"I'm for getting Honey into the building as Mal pointed out." he says, "Even the samples could be useful for our masters".

T

Shakes his head, "This ain't over... you, me and that jedi are going to have words." he growls at the man, flipping the blaster back off stun and shoving it emphatically back into its holster.

"I'd hurry up and provide some proof that I agreed to such a thing." He glances over at Mal, "It seems some others certainly are ok with the situation as is, disappointing". He looks back at the man, "I'm waiting, but not much longer."

"You did not answer the question." he says as he rests his hand on the blaster.

Pulls out his blaster, doesn't raise it but puts it on the table. "So, let me get this straight" he says with a look of death in his eyes as he looks at this Taro fellow. "What else did you implant in our heads? Be quick about it before I decide to implant a blaster bolt in your head".

Leans against the bar and ask one of the twi'lek bar tenders... "so is this just the usual crowd?" he says with a smile, "or is something special going on?" he says after a pause.
