Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

"Excellent shot, Vorgen. Though I admit I agree with the first officer regarding the halo device. Please see if there is any salvageable pieces of it left. Perhaps we can learn from it and determine a better way to protect...ourselves," Regulorum glances significantly at Yosarni, "in the event we encounter another such xenotech. I feel the Omnissiah would bless such an endeavor."

Regulorum and Pip explode into a flurry of action as they begin assessing the damage to the bridge and the controls under a less stressful environment. Regulorum uses Pip to communicate with the ship cogitator and reintegrate it to the controls. Regulorum begins to compile accurate data on the environmentals and begins locking down those areas which read as dangerous until successful repairs can be made.

However, first and foremost, Regulorum reintroduces breathable air back into the bridge if it can be pressure sealed once more.

I am assuming Regulorum is not under pressure, so takes his time to work with the cogitator and Pip until everything is working properly.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum attempts to isolate the most efficient path to the bridge while also opening the path to the cutter. Pip beeps and buzzes.

Common Lore (Tech Use): 1d100 ⇒ 50 vs. Int 45 which is a fail, bah.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum addresses the cogitator.

"Spirit, I am Magos Explorator and Enginseer Prime. The warp entity has taken the bridge. We must redirect all command capability to an outside location we can access. I also require you to upload the schematics of the Emperor's Bounty to this servo-skull." Regulorum gestures to Pip who approaches the cogitator with combi-tool extended but waits for the cogitator's acceptance before jacking into its interface.

Regulorum lowers his voice to micro-bead only on the officer channel.

"This should give us the answers to those very questions, Captain Spargan." A hint of amusement actually seems to be present in the Magos voice, but no, that can't be.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

"Any of you who know any proper words that would be soothing to a Machine Spirit would be wise to begin your prayers," the enginseer says.

Regulorum fidgets with various vials of oil and unguents. He removes parts, intoning and chanting all the while. He places the various mechanical pieces back into their places after rubbing the oils and praying over them. His movements seem rote, practiced and smooth. Clearly he has done this before.

After the proper rites have been completed, Regulorum begins the sequence to coax the cogitator to life.

Hector:
You indicated Regulorum had done this many times, so I wasn't sure if a roll is needed.

Tech-Use 45 + Silas: 1d100 ⇒ 50 = 55

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

So that's a no to new servitors... :_(

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

As the men speak, Regulorum's expression becomes more and more stony. He is visibly disturbed by their words and begins a rapidfire conversation with Pip in Techna-Lingua.

At the prompting of Silas, Regulorum nods and draws on his extensive knowledge of Gellar Fields - something every Enginseer had to study intently. He also tries to recall every recorded circumstance when a machine spirit has been purged or ways to repower the ship's cogitator.

Roll is for either Common Lore (Tech), Forbidden Lore (Archeotech) or Forbidden Lore (Adeptus Mechanicus)
Int 45 + 10 from Silas = 55: 1d100 ⇒ 34 = 2 degrees of success

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

And if they do object...I think the Enginarium on the Adamant Will could use some new servitors...

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Pip generates a statistical analysis of the situation for Regulorum's eyes only, and Regulorum gives a soft snort of annoyance. Without waiting for Alessaunder to finish his charming and uplifting talk to these downtrodden members of the crew, Pip projected only a 7.5489356% chance of successfuly retrieving the information needed to retake the bridge or find a way to get back to the cutter. The odds soared to 23.8561117% if the men found the motivation to assist them.

Regulorum determined he would not allow the time spent placating lesser men's fears and sensibilities to be wasted. He squawked a command to Pip, and the two of them began working on nalysis of the way the power was feeding into the bridge and how best to interfere without endangering the ship.

Common Lore (Tech) (Int) 45: 1d100 ⇒ 13

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum and Pip have been attempting to run scans of the power conduits. Having previously noticed the power flowing to the bridge, Regulorum has spent the time since their escape trying to determine how he can safely disrupt the flow of power back to that area without endangering the ship.

Not sure if there is an appropriate roll for this kind of scan or if the results would be automatic. Your thoughts, DM?

"Even if the Lord-Captain was in fact a pirate, you would be fools not to accept his help," Regulorum says to the emaciated men with condescension, emphasizing the title as he returns to the formal address in the presence of unfamiliars. In an uncharacteristic display, Regulorum ensures that his rank insignia and specialized void suit are evident, as he moves to Silas' side.

"It is apparent that we do not have time for your foolishness if any of us are to survive. Are there any surviving Tech-Priests? I must know what has happened to the Machine Spirit of the Emperor's Bounty at once!"

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum pauses to draw his lasgun. His eyes narrow as he hears Silas' request, and Regulorum appears immobile as he concentrates.

Common Lore (Tech) 45 v.: 1d100 ⇒ 89

"At this time I am unable to recall anything in this class of naval vessel's schematic which would indicate such, Silas, but I may be mistaken."

DM Hector:
In case there are any Mechanicum secrets which Regulorum may know which could aid in the situation.

Forbidden Lore (Adeptus Mechanicus) 45 v.: 1d100 ⇒ 32

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Don't forget. RT rules allow for more or less infinite ammo, so you can always reload as it is assumed you are carrying a few mags. ;-)

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum reads the instrument panel's new warning. He had failed to correctly supplicate the system to prevent the atmosphere from being vented.

"Be warned! There is no longer any breathable gases in the bridge chamber."

Pip holoprojects a diagram of the proper sequence of convocation. Regulorum begins to hum a soothing mechanical tone to the console to better earn back its trust and open the door. His fingers move quickly but in measured steps so as not to offend whatever remnant of the missing Machine Spirit might remain.

Unseal the doors, Tech-Use (Int) 45 + 10 (from Silas) = 55 v:: 1d100 ⇒ 36 = 2/3 Successes

A series of beeps and blessed chirps indicate that Regulorum has successfully managed to transmit his commands to the console before him and better, the console has agreed to honor the request entered. Now the last step: the proper rites to encourage the door systems to allow them safe passage from the room. He draws a vial of holy oils from his robe and holds it up to Pip who grasps it in a minidendrite and begins to hover towards the door's direct controls to apply it while Regulorum readies to complete the ceremony he has begun.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

About to go on vacation. Will have some wi-fi available but don't know how much time I will have. Be back Wed next week!

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

As the display begins to indicate changes to the various control systems, Regulorum tries to rapidly understand what commands were just received in the console.

Common Lore (Tech) (Int) 45 v: 1d100 ⇒ 40 = Success if no modifiers

If successful:
Eyes widening with comprehension, Regulorum realizes he must now deal with something else in addition to unsealing the bridge doors. With a burst of static like noise, Regulorm summons Pip to his side and together they rapidly begin to interface with the controls hoping to prevent the new danger.

Unseal the doors, Tech-Use (Int) 45 v: 1d100 ⇒ 43

If still has a half action to burn, to counteract the action taken by the worm, Tech-Use (Int) 45 v: 1d100 ⇒ 85

If unsuccessful:
Regulorum begins to feel the shift in force and hears the venting gas. He thinks he knows what happened, but doesn't understand how the xenos device accomplished it. His only hope to help them escape the new problem is to get those doors open!

Unseal the doors, Tech-Use (Int) 45 v: 1d100 ⇒ 35

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

What is it exactly you're wanting me to do? Depressurize the room?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Sorry for the disappearance, but I am back and ready to go. Should my servo-skull also get an initiative, or are we just treating him as an ever present sidekick that's there for flavor?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum begins to wander throughout the bridge inspecting various consoles and displays. His head snaps around in irritation at the presumptious tone of command from Alessaunder. Narrowing his eyes, he says,

"Must we maintain these ridiculous formalities even here?" Regulorum shakes his head and attempts to assess which systems are online and which essential systems are not. Gesturing towards Ludicus' men without looking in their direction, Regulorum continues, "It is highly doubtful these men would be foolish enough to speak of any informal discussion between officers. You surely don't believe you actually need to tell me my duties, First Officer. Save the commands for those who are truly incompetent. I will also reiterate that plainspeak is much better in these circumstances, and surely our previous familiar affiliation warrants it. Regulorum or Reg or even Bast are acceptable. I can imagine many situations when uttering the phrase Enginseer Prime or Magos Explorator will take much more time than you will find you have at your disposal."

Tech-Use (Int) 45 vs: 1d100 ⇒ 17 = 3 degrees of success

"Ah! It would appear..." Sentence pending roll result description.

Regulorum emits a low static burst, and his servo-skull Pip hovers closer to the body of the dead Navigator and emits a small beam of light which begins to zip back and forth across it and the strange device attached to its head as Pip begins to scan. Regulorum continues working with the controls and trying to find ways to reactivate those currently inoperable.

Trade (Technomat) (Int) 45 vs: 1d100 ⇒ 40 = Success

Suddenly, a high-pitched noise comes from the servitor drawing Regulorum's attention. The body had moved, and the device on it was beginning to glow...

Regulorum's eyes are immediately drawn to the device, and he begins to sort through his memories for anything related to it.

Forbidden Lore (Xeno) (Int) 45 vs: 1d100 ⇒ 48 = Failed, but I do have FL (Archeotech) +10 which would succeed in case that's more appropriate.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Eyes narrowing at the sign of low power, Regulorum examines a galley lamp close by the hatch. Low power wasn't too unexpected considering, but rather curious nonetheless. "(Pip, run a scan of the atmosphere and power readings,)" Regulorum squawks to the servo-skull.

Pip can be heard clicking and beeping away inside his plasteel bubble at Regulorum's request.

How's the gravity in here, Hector, sir?

Any chance Regulorum can glean any information based on the appearance of the interior and the way the lighting is functioning? Is it steady, pulsing, surging, flickering? Etc, etc. Here's a roll just in case.

Common Lore (Tech) Int 45: 1d100 ⇒ 1 Uh, I may have just wasted an epic success, lol. I sure hope I can get something for this. :P

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum makes ready to disembark impatiently waiting for the "requirement" to be fulfilled so he and Pip could get to work on the true damage and functionality analysis.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

I just had the chance to peruse Deathwatch: Mark of the Xenos. Holy crap. That is a must buy if one is running any WH40k RPG. No lie.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

@Alessaunder & Hector:
Lol, no worries. This wasn't to indicate I think the Inquisition will be or should be anywhere near us. I just meant that from the perspective of whether our characters are free to know the kinds of things that in a Dark Heresy games the hint of someone knowing these things is the whole basis for some the adventure hooks essentially. Sometimes people forget that what is "described" in many of the DH, RT, & DW books is actually player knowledge only and the characters will be too indoctrinated or ignorant to "know". And most of the time, RPing that even when confronted with the truth, the characters rationalize it or simply classify it as heresy out of hand is well within the given framework.

I suppose I am just thinking statements like, "Scan for daemons," is a very, very unlikely thing to be heard. Something akin to "Scan for xenos taint" or "warp corruption" would probably be something I would anticipate to be more true to the setting. Assuming that such scans are even possible of course.

Not that I am in any way wanting to start a debate there. I just wanted to get clarification from Hector whether it was okay for us to assume our characters are "in the know" just in case he's wanting to spring something on us and say "roll insanity/corruption/fear" and we're like "yeah but we knew about that, so we shouldn't have to." Then it just becomes a game mechanic instead of feeling like our characters have actually evolved and the insanity/corruption/fear is a truly natural thing.

That make sense?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

@Hector:
Question in regards to character knowledge. My experience with Warhammer Fantasy and somewhat limited 40k playing, part of the prevailing atmosphere of the setting was fear, ignorance, and absolutely blind faith. A sense of rightness instilled into people and religious explanations which were mostly baldfaced lies or enormous exaggerations to prevent the curiosity of the masses from meddling in things they shouldn't.

Now I realize as grim as 40k is it isn't nearly as hopeless feeling as Fantasy which is just people waiting for the inevitable Chaos hammer to drop, while 40k is all about how the entire Imperium is "certain" of their superiority and eventual domination of the entire galaxy. This leads to some interesting arguments as to what people know v. don't know, but ultimately everyone is still pretty ignorant as they are basically told what to think by the Ecclesiarchy in regards to the Imperium, xenos, and technology. Chaos is, from my understanding, pretty much a need-to-know basis and is otherwise hidden behind basic tenets such as "Suffer not the mutant" and encouragement for the teeming billions to "self-police" with hysteria and fear.

Some of the players (including myself) have bandied around discussion regarding some potential Inquisition-will-investigate-you type things, and while I don't think we have gone too far over the line, I wanted to ask where you would like us to draw it. Having basic knowledge of enemies for the crew of a ship plying the unknown reaches makes sense, but how far should we take it? Sometimes the exposure to things which are "supposed to be" but turn out differently or discovery that faith in the Emperor doesn't always save a person, can be the heart of the Warhammer experience. I would hate to have us rob you of the ability to make us roll insanity and corruption simply because our characters are RP"d as if all this knowledge is passe.

If you wouldn't mind, I am hoping you are willing to lay down where our knowledge of Chaos and other forbidden topics ends, so we can hopefully keep our characters in the proper mood and thus allowing corruption, xenos taint, and insanity to be made a natural progression as opposed to something "hacked" in because it's a game mechanic.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Just to clarify some of the word choices and phrases I am using in the third person in Reg's posts, they are meant to convey Reg's prevailing attitude. He's rather impatient and a tad intolerant of anything that would be a "waste of his time". I figured it was easier and simpler to post in that fashion instead of long elaborate posts of Reg's inner monologue.

I just want you all to know I am not intending that to be indicative of my own feelings towards your posting or your character's discussion in any way. I enjoy well thought out posts that include long discussion when appropriate, and as you will probably witness, I can become very long-winded myself. :)

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum will arrive with Pip his Servo Skull in tow...literally. The servitor familiar is tethered to Regulorum's void suit and sporting a half dome of clear plasteel which surrounds the skull. It connects to the machinery and tools which are exposed underneath.

Unless there is any grandstanding speeches or other events of utter pointlessness, Regulorum will enter the cutter and strap in.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Sounds good then. I will just assume my wonderful carapace armor is not available to me for now, and try really, really hard not to die the first fight against that Tyranid/Chaos Daemon/Warp Monstrosity/Eldar Harlequin which will inevitably attack us the moment the cutter flies out of range. :P

EDIT: Or did I read that wrong? Are the larger armors now approved for void suit use?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Forget my use of the word canon. I definitely am not here to debate canon in WH40k. I will claim only a smattering of knowledge and often google information on how Regulorum should speak and act before posting.

My point was merely that unless Jedi/GM hand-waving of certain things is occurring, Regulorum is unlikely to fit into a void suit period.

EDIT: I appreciate the softening of your post, Alessaunder. Though admittedly, of everyone, I would have assumed you to be the most knowledgeable, lol.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Also, I suppose I should make my weapon choices now...I have been procrastinating that.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Actually, I was going to ask about void suits. Since so very many people have cybernetic additions, Mechanicum members have mechadendrites, and canon drawings always show Rogue Traders and members of the Ecclesiarchy in huge bulky outfits sometimes with smokestacks and burning incense holders, I had been assuming that most void suits would also be somewhat roomy allowing more than just skintight clothing.

Are we just hand-waving those elements then?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

At a small static emission from Pip, Regulorum pauses in his stride to the hangar.

"A salvo, hmmm?" Regulorum strokes the vox housing on his face. Then he shrugs. "I imagine there is the possibility we might be able to find additional salvageable items in the cloud. The ships destroyed here are fairly well documented...Pip, run the archeotech protocol. Unless there is a probability of locating tech of note, I will not interfere in the artillery crews 'practice'."

Forbidden Lore (Archeotech) 45 +10 =55 v.: 1d100 ⇒ 46 Success

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

The following is heard via the officer vox channel:

"Regulorum is en route to hangar."

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Regulorum slowly moves through The Adamant Will's enginarium. The heavy mechanical sounds of the vessel as it redirected power to the ship's various functions was comforting. The intonation of rites and litanies of his subordinate tech-priests appeasing the various machine-spirits allowed his mind clarity of thought. The smells of the sacred unguents and holy oils wafted through his filters and gave the magos a peace only possible when one is close to the Omnissiah's essence. And one could find no better place for that proximity than the enginarium.

Regulorum considers the salvage problem of The Emperor's Bounty. From a strictly mechanical concern, Regulorum knew exactly how to proceed. First, any hull breaches must be located and sealed. Life support and gravity control systems examined, and their operational status would need to be determined. If non-functional, and repair would take greater than 5 hours, their status would be ignored and repaired when convenient, as neither would be essential yet. Careful examination of the Geller Field's operational status would be priority and be repaired immediately if damaged before all other things at this point. A diagram of essential passages and routes between vital systems and ship locations would be determined, and the rest sealed until a full investigation of the vessel can be accomplished in safe anchorage. Examination of plasma and warp drives follows. If self propulsion possible, temporary bridge is established close to escape units or attached ferry for ease of escape in event of unexpected problem. Final stage, recommendation to Lord-Captain of removal of both The Adamant Will and The Emperor's Bounty from the area and relocation to pre-specified safe anchorage for full inspection and repair.

Regulorum tapped a finger on his respirator. The tinking sound familiar to his auditory sensors. All of the steps in this plan required no surprises, no xenos or chaotic tampering. No Tyranids or other infestation. Given the Bounty's last known destination and sudden disappearance/reappearance, the odds of none of these things were small if not minute. Silas was sure to be aware of this. And Regulorum had no illusions that if no one else, the First Officer was already calculating the odds of successful operations as well. Regulorum approved of First Officer Allesaunder. The man was so methodical he almost felt Mechanicum.

"(Pip)," Regulorum squawked. "(Provide probability report assuming xenos interference of salvage operations. Establish preliminary parameters for absolute minimum repair of Bounty for warp translation based on basic Lathe-class design, vessel specific modifications to be added...keep those as variables and assemble a report based on possible Imperial tech.)"

The servitor responds with an As you command, Reg and begins the computations. The soft chirping and whirring sounds of its servos drowned in the chanting and clanking of the enginarium.

Regulorum tapped up the basic salvage plan he had determined onto a dataslate not including the emergency plan which was now awaiting Pip's final calculations. Passing the slate to a mecho-servitor, Regulorum commanded it to take it to Silas and Alessaunder. Regulorum prayed to the Omnissiah then, asking for His blessing and the fortune to find archeotech which to examine in His name.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Sorry Silas. Looks like Regulorum's knowledge of the Bounty is limited to its last known flight plan. No technical data beyond the basics.

I would assume then the "Salvage process" would basically be the Extended Repair option which is measured in 1d5 weeks as the crew strips down those parts of the Bounty that can be recovered and either transfers them into or installs them onto the Will. So I am guessing unless stated otherwise by DM Hector we would roll for the expected time based on the number of different components we are attempting to remove. Or actually repairing the bird if we have the right materials naturally.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

While the other officers are providing their suggestions and intel, Regulorum is cataloging the sounds of their voices for review later. Meanwhile his attention is focused on a dataslate on which his slender fingers tapped almost rhythmically and precisely.

When the boarding plans including the crew's soldiers was concluded, Regulorum holds out the dataslate for Silas.

"Lord-Captain, here is the information required."

The dataslate provides page after page of possible issues with the mechanical workings of The Emperor's Bounty starting with the minor such as plasma drive malfunctions and life-support failures and ending with the catastrophic like pocket warp translations and an insane starship personality. Also include is the suggested corrective procedure. Some of these are simple and almost humorous such as planting Reginala blossoms from Tarsis III to fend off a gretison gas vapor with an extremely detailed mapping of where such plantings would be most effective and the most likely areas to have such a vapor build up. Some of the more terrifying possibilities like chaotic corruption or massive Tyranid infestation have only a single word for their suggested resolutions: bombardment.

Naturally the most important part is the total projected hours of repairs, rites, and holy communions. They range in nature from a couple of hours to several days to months. Silas will even see a link on the dataslate that will allow him to view a matrix of all possible combinations of total time for any of the varying degrees or possible complications. In other words, the amount of data is staggering and until an actual assessment of The Emperor's Bounty has been done, it would appear difficult to make an accurate projection.

Pending some info from DM Hector, I should be able to "compile" (make up) some scenarios for The Emperor's Bounty.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

@DM Hector: You never gave me results for my Lore rolls for knowledge of The Emperor's Bounty's design/known modifications/machine spirit personality/archeotech. I failed the Scholastic, but my Forbidden (Archeotech) made it.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

O Wise GM...it mentions owners of servo-skulls usually modify them. I was wondering to what extent I would be allowed to modify mine. Aside from the standard equipment it comes with, how much else can I add? Obviously I realize it's just a skull, so it's not as if it can hold much. How many "devices" total would you allow to be attached or added?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

The reassuring whir of machinery can be heard coming from the Magos Explorator. Regulorum Bast receives the cup of amasec and a thin tube-like mechadendrite emerges from under his respirator unit which enters the liquid and sucks up a small sip. His filters automatically engage and a lightning fast analysis identifies the flavor and transmits the information to the Enginseer Prime's cerebrum.

"My memory cortex indicates this amasec is consistent with that from the Theluvian agricultural world, Lord Captain?" Waving a hand of slender fingers, Regulorum brushes away his own question and his vox transmission takes on a lecturing tone.

"Lathe-class monitor cruiser. Vital statistics for an unmodified design:

The design differs from many light cruisers, with an emphasis on long-ranged detection and endurance rather than speed and manoeuvrability. Outfitted correctly, a Lathe class can operate without refit and resupply for decades.

"In common use in the Explorator fleets, the Mechanicum prefer this class of ship as it is more suited for exploration and detection over the speed focus of other light cruisers."

Some of that is me. The rest quoted from here.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Sorry for being so absent, I will get something posted soon.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

The summons came as no surprise. After the intense logic debates in the forum, Regulorum's accomplishments had been to difficult to overlook, and begrudgingly even his dissenters had been forced to recognize him as Magos. Regulorum knew that his choice to join the Explorators had assisted in the acceptance of his elevation. If he had chosen an order which would keep him in a more visible role, he might have been instead purged and his work relegated to Archival status. That could not be allowed, and so Regulorum's presence was "suggested" in the private audience chamber of Arch-Magos Cypherius Hodelph, chief amongst the Explorators.

The chamber was full of displays. Many rare and powerful archeotechs which the Arch-Magos kept to remind himself of the time he had spent amongst the stars beyond the Imperium. A few, Regulorum noted, were in fact of Xenos origin. If Regulorum had still possessed a mouth, he would have smiled.

Acknowledgement of Cypherius' greater knowledge in their field was projected, and the Arch-Magos accepted the signal of obeisance with a chitter of electric sound and the wave of a mechandendrite. A flurry of noise emitted from the Arch-Magos' vox,

"#*-+*, --+ *+- #^++-= +--**."

(Regulorum, I will not waste time as your transport leaves immediately. A Grand Cruiser of some interest was wrested from a space hulk recently. The Adamant Will. It belongs to the last scion of House Tyr, one Silas. Do your remembrances recall this man?) Man was said with a subtle tweak of sound which indicated a tad bit of contempt. The members of the ruling body of the Mechnicum often pitied those poor wretches that did not know the joy of being merged with the Machine Spirit as intimately as they. Regulorum squawked a noise of recognition. His electro-field zeroed in on a mechanical sphere projecting a Xenos script hovering above a plinth off to one corner.

(Yes, the same Silas Tyr whom you assisted with a petty feud involving Clan Tremium in order to obtain those secret hereteks' Rylos Sphere. I believe you had dealings with both him and his current First Officer Alessaunder Fortunus Godwinne.) The Arch-Magos' fine manipudendrite stroked the curve of the sphere. (We have need of their naivete once again. The Adamant Will's Machine Spirit has acquired some rather...singular signatures as a result of its time as part of a space hulk. You are uniquely qualified to work with it as it contains quite a bit of archeotech. Additionally, you will be able to advance your theory and work on the origin of many Xenos-tech as Tyr intends to use his Warrant of Trade to ply the Koronus Expanse. There is a 27.67398654% chance you will find the missing piece in this region) The Arch-Magos fingers a part of the Rylos Sphere which seems to have a hole.

Regulorum's magno-servers smiled again.

=++-* #--+ +=***-

(Thank you, Arch-Magos. I praise the Omnissiah for making your logic servos able to predict the best probable location. I will leave at once.) Regulorum once again acknowledged the Arch-Magos superior knowledge and left the chamber.

Regulorum had been waiting for this chance. These men should remember the invaluable tech and weapons he had provided, and should see the value in bringing him on board The Adamant Will. He would be more than valuable to them. And Tyr's ship would welcome Regulorum's devotion. And the Koronus Expanse...the chance to finally be unrestrained to research and prove once and for all, that most Xenos-tech was merely stolen technology of the Ancients!

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

"Incidentally, it's Regulorum or Reg. Communicating titles we are all aware of is pointless and illogical. Do not waste my time with such irrelevance. Enginseer Prime Bast or Explorator Bast is for formal moments of recognition only."

The Tech-Priest standing before you says in what could almost be described as a testy vox transmission.

"I will display proper respect. Have no fear. But do not grate my auditory receptors with redundant vocal transmissions unless there is a purpose."

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Oh trust me, I can write backstory like a "daemon" so no worries there. You and the Lord Captain give me a full outline of your own histories and I can guarantee a clever integration. I was just figuring if we wanted simple and "on the chart", I could make an adjustment if needed.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

And naturally Survivalist is a 300 XP Birthright. Yikes! Hmmm...I guess we'll see what Hector says. I would need to rearrange a lot for Survivalist. I am thinking maybe changing my Motivation to Prestige would be the better move. Motivation is a free choice row, right?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

@Navis: If you are interested, you could join Regulorum in his Trials & Travails (Lost Worlds - Beyond the Pale). I know you're Ship Lorn was fitting for your backstory, but the "vision" provided in the Beyond the Pale could still provide the basis for your Fear. Perhaps Regulorum and Navis experienced this together. Plus you would get to keep your Fate Point. :D

Also upon realizing that I truly don't have any intersections...I could be a fairly recent addition to the crew? After all, Explorators do not always accompany Rogue Traders. Maybe I am an acquaintance, but not yet "vetted" as it were.

If that is not acceptable, I am willing to change my Motivation from (Knowledge - Knowledge is Life, Life is Knowledge) to Prestige if that would be easier. What is your Fringe Survivor, First Officer? As mentioned once, Heretek is not sweepingly required for Regulorum's backstory, so another possible change for an intersection.

Also...did Navis Yosarni manage to go intersectionless as well, or am I reading the path incorrectly?

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

Note that of course it's heretek not hot heretic, and it's used in a very general sense to more or less explain Regulorum's unusual entry into the Mechanicum and his rather contraversial views on archeotech and Xenos-tech.

Hector actually recommended it after I PM'd him that portion of my backstory for review and suggestions. I am fine with changing it if it would be too much for this particular group. I can still accomplish explaining Regulorum's backstory with Renegade - Free Thinker. I wasn't actually sure how straight-laced we were going to be especially since someone was asking earlier about being a sanctioned Xenos, lol.

D'oh! I think I just got ninja'd by none other than Hector, heh.

Enginseer Prime Explorator R1

So I was looking at the ship roles, and I didn't find anything saying it cost XP to choose one, only XP to switch from it. So if allowed, I would like to nominate Regulorum for Enginseer Prime. Also, if you would like for me to add a last name for Regulorum, tell me know before I can't alter the name.

Are we looking for the other players to fill those roles, or are the NPC'd?
