Well, I haven't saved my animal focus for nothing. ;) All joking aside, I'd love to try the final encounter. Being ranged and having an animal companion gives me plenty of space to run if I'm careful. Plus Paltair has since posted. I think there's a shot, so long as you don't mind GM.

Rega, upon breaking from her enthrallment, feels guilty twofold. "Sorry guys. When I focus on something, I don't lose sight of it until it's finished. Upon seeing the plank, Rega would go ahead and attempt to move it over the gap, asking for aid if necessary. "This way, if Janira comes behind us, she won't have so hard a time, or if we need to make a quick exit, we can run across and break the plank." Before attempting to divine meaning from these carvings, Rega takes out her inkpen, a vial of ink, and two sheets of paper, takes a seat in front of one of the carvings, and attempts to sketch as many as she can on two sheets of paper, front and back. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 Assuming I would need to perceive these carvings in order to sketch them ;) I would choose to take 20 on this if allowed, but I'm unsure the total rules on taking 20. No matter the results of the roll, Rega would not gain any insight into identifying these until she had finished sketching and is comparing the sketches to the real thing. Once started, Rega would be absent to the outside world unless there were a very sharp interruption. While comparing, if any of her companions give her an odd look or question her, she would simply state: "Explore. Report. Cooperate." Gotta remember companions on group skill checks like that.

Forgetting herself for a minute, Rega sees an article of clothing and immediately bee-lines for it. She will tie her grappling arrow to her rope and attempt to essentially fish the cloak out that way. Growing up poor, the Kitsune sees this as a blessing. I'll roll whatever checks would be needed for that Assuming she eventually fishes it up, Rega would immediately shake the water out and begin drying it before putting it on.

I understand. I feel for you; you were trying to do good in running something primarily for new players, and from the start I almost felt bad being in a new spot. Numbers-wise yes I'm new, but as every day goes by I feel better and better about my grasp on Pathfinder, PFS, and PbP all three. I commend you for trying to help the Paizo community and for helping newer players get a strong start. Is admirable. =)
