As Reedalvan makes his way through the Cage, he takes in the features and oddities of the place he calls home. Not being a top-drawer (and a jink-filled drawer at that) berk himself, he keeps a low profile through the Lady's Ward. He does silently tip a hat at the Cager Crows, though; he rather likes the thought that perhaps they have some fiendish blood in them. After all, having some fiendish blood in you doesn't make you a bad sort, does it? Look at him...
He relaxes a little as he moves into the Lower Ward, although as he looks at the place, he can't help but feel that just maybe the fiendish blood in him didn't really take, because you'd have to be addle-coved to want to live like this all the time. Still, the Cage is the Cage, and so on through he went.
As he crosses the Zaddfum Trestle, he catches the eyes of and winks at any children who are fishing who happen to look his way. He can't help but feel sorry for the berks if they're reduced to fishing here.
Finally, the Hive... the armpit of Sigil. Or, perhaps, another bodily reference.
Finding his way to the Inn, he thinks, well, isn't this rather a posh place for the Hive. Why, the food inside might even almost be edible.
He pushes open the door to the Inn and walks inside, looking around.
Unless he sees anything that gives him pause, he'll find a barkeep, or an attendant behind a desk, or somebody who looks like they know what's going on, and will ask after Brent Othmann.

All good on this end!
I'm going to be traveling again next week, flying out on Wednesday and gone until the following Thursday. However, I expect to have Internet access on the trip, and so should be able to keep up. If I disappear, that's probably what happened, but hopefully I won't.

Reedalavan gives the woman another short bow before nodding to Frenjik. He tuck the letter away into a fold in his garmet, and it seems to disappear as he does so.
"Off to the Hive, then!" he says with enthusiasm.
Moving jauntily out of the Guild, he starts to make way towards the Hive Ward. As he does so, he begins to have a few misgivings. Reedalvan, you addle-cove, what have you gotten yourself into now? He doesn't let them slow him down.
As he gets to the Hive Ward, he begins to be a bit more on the alert. As he approaches that dangerous core, the Hive itself, he focuses as carefully on his surroundings as he can, alert for danger.
Actions:
Tuck the letter away into his Pickpocket's Outfit. Including the +2 from the outfit:
Sleight of Hand:1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
Once he gets to the Hive, he'll keep a close eye on anybody he sees nearby, and will look for lurking danger.

"You've never been?"
"Celestia, no! Why would I?"
"But you have an acquaintance there "
"Well, yes. A former employee "
"It'll cost yeh. 15 ladies. Payment up front "
"Well, if I must"
The lady brings forth a gleaming silver-white coin
"Can you give me change for a Hammer?"
The Hive.... Reedalvan, being a bit overconfident, thinks to himself, It's bad there, yeah. Or, so I've heard. The Hive Ward isn't so bad, if you watch yourself, no need to end up in the dead book there. I could do it... though it'd be better if I had some other bashers with me.
Reedalvan decides to interrupt. He hopes that Frenjik is in a friendly mood and doesn't verbally bite off his head for butting in, but he can't resist trying to turn on the charm.
"Frenjik's right, m'lady," Reedalvan says, coming towards Frenjik and the woman with a very slight bow. "The Hive is a right dangerous place, it is. Takes a cutter who knows which way the Spire is to get a message safely in there. You want only the best...."
He cocks a jaunty half-smile.
Mechanics:
Take 10 on Diplomacy for 16, or Bluff for 18, as necessary.

GM : this post. I'm about to have Reedalvan jump in and be rude and volunteer for the assignment, giving away that he was evesdropping. Are you cool with me doing that, or do you have other plans that that would disrupt?

Reedalvan can't help but notice the Aasimar woman who comes into the common room of the Lightning Guild. Another plane-touched, he thinks. 'course, we're legion here in the Cage.
His curiosity is piqued when she goes to speak with Frenjik. I wonder what that's about? he thinks to himself. Another part of him thinks back. Careful; you know what they say about curiosity and the cat. In response, he thinks to himself, Actually, I'm not sure exactly what that saying is....
He tries to sidle over closer to Frenjik so that he might evesdrop on the conversation, without being obvious that that is what he's doing.
Mechanics:
Trying to walk around without being obvious that he's trying to get closer for purposes of evesdropping.
Bluff:1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14 Perception:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

rknop here -- Excellent, thank you for the offer! I will go and make sure that Reedlalvan is outfitted.
(By the way, I pronounce it "reed-AL-van", if folk want to hear it in their head the way I do. In a PbP, it doesn't matter much... we're all reading the same thing!)
