Personally, martials should be like super heros. Let the muggles be mundane, fighters should be treated like Captain America. Sure, Scarlet Witch can modify reality (God-Wizard Wish!), but, come on. Cap's kicking ass in all the most badass ways. You seriously tellin' me Cap's mundane?

I agree with you. The fighter archetype isn't inspired by "regular" warriors, but on par with mythical heroes. Sure, those guys were usually backed by gods, but Ajax, Odysseus, Jason and Sigurd weren't. Even though I think "cutting a mountain in half" is a bit over-the-top, I think martials should be able to fight through spells and generally kick the asses of supernatural beings the same way mythological heroes did. This is coming from a guy who plans on playing an alchemist, but I friggin' love martial classes waaaay more than casters. Then again, the alchemist isn't considered a caster by Paizo, so I guess it technically counts as a "martial" class.

Actually, I remember there was a martial shapeshifter. It was a wildshaping ranger variant.

Ravenloft--all of it--for obvious reasons.

If we're gonna bring settings up, I miss Eberron.

I don't really get why aboleths are OGL while illithids aren't.
Simply put, WotC decided they wanted illithids to be all theirs, probably because aboleths are nowhere near as popular to use.

True, but it's also kinda weird that we still have driders when D&D came up with driders, and they're linked to the drow, who are ridiculously popular (drow are derived from mythology, but driders aren't). It's kinda weird, but hey. It's WotC's decision.

Mine is Andoran. It's not just because I'm American, it's just cool that a fantasy setting has a region based on Revolutionary War-era America. You really don't see that in... Well, pretty much any other RPG. Plus, I can see a lot of players making an Andoren shield champion Brawler, and I'll be one of them :P

Well, it is a non-divine caster, so he isn't really required to have a religion. I just thought if there was an appropriate deity, it would be cool.

I'm actually starting to like the making one up option. He could worship a puppet, like Elan. The Swedish Chef could be my patron god!

So it'd be the "Herly Cherchee eef der Sveedirsh Cherfee?"

Welp, looks like I'm gonna have to change my Fighter to a Shield Champion, since he's an Andoren :P "You know, the last time I was in Cheliax, and I saw a man standing above everybody else, we ended up disagreeing."
