My guess is that us two dawi are close to Sigmars cathedral, waiting for Mareike, who is inside, while Franz is in Verenas Temple.

Or just be patient this week, as it isn't looking any better for me than for him...

Rangnir hesitates to leave Franz alone with a possibly dangerous heretical book, but he respects his wishes, although he is dead set to stay on the plaza, where he can possibly hear if there is any trouble brewing in there.

Fernis, why don't you accompany your daughter to the temple. I will stay here for a while. I still need to get a feel of the human city, now, as it is in such grave danger, more then ever.

Rangnir stays a step behind Mareike, admiring this stonework of men and respectfully adapting to the girls pace.

Herr Flechter, you know more about this than we do. Would it help if we try to talk to the Baron? Or will our involvement with you and by assosiation with Lord Rikkard complicate any further action and investigation regarding the Skaven?

Then we should see if there is a chance to watch the foodstuff ourselfs.

You got my meaning, girl. Who would oversee the cooking, who the deliveries? Where could a sneaky enemy get close to food or drink to be served at the ball?

Remember, their most devious weapons are plague and poison. They might not need to strike at the ball itself to do their damage there!

Could the Skaven have a chance to strike at that party? It seems they would be devious enough to know that would be the time to behead the city and possibly most of the Reiksland!

Is that the ball Master Foambeard has been talking about? Is it true that it has something to do with the city looking for a new lord?

Rangnirs face turns ashen with compassion for the older dwarf. Trying desperatly not to shame him or his friend, no single feature in his face, besides the color, betrays his feelings as he places his hand on Fernis shoulder for a few seconds.

That is youe cue, Fernis. While I have heard about the Skaven and of course about our warriors campaigns against them, you have actually seen and fought them. It would be for the best if you could tell us about your experiences so we might be better prepared!

Rangnir just nods and reminds himself to ask Fernis to tell him, who has only fleeting knowledge of the subject, and the humans who don't seem to know about the skaven at all, about hie encounters with the ratkin.

We come to you as the representant of the dawi in this city, to bring grim news about dark tides. It looks that the Skaven have not only come to the city are bold enough to show their hideous face in the light of the sun.

Rangnir bows deeply. He tries to make out the brewers words, failing that he points at the door and waits for the whitebeards reaction.

That seems like sound advice, don't you agree, Fernis? If all our ki are confident to let master Foambaerd speak for them, he will be most respectable and it would be wise to seek his counsel.

Ahh, yes, but this threat will be well hidden, and if the rats see a fire, they will just crawl into a deeper hole and wait until the ashes are cooled down. No, we must make sure we strike at its heart. Since the Skaven seem to be already on the move, to do so we must try to make sure Dawi and Men will stand long enough for that heart to be exposed.

Rangnir stands up and gestures to Mareike to follow.

Rangnir turns to Franz.
Will you accompany us, or will we meet up when we return? Oh, do you know if this city has guilds for Ratcatchers ord Dungsweepers? They might have seen more of the Ratmen already than the dare tell the authorities...and they will know every hole that leads into the depth of this city. If there are guilds like that, they should meet with the dwarves!

ZZ, is there anything Rangnir could answer to Fernis that I miss? Or is it just time to look irritated?

Pestilence, the most dangerous weapon of this army against a city will be pestilence.

I...am sorry. In a place like this, it is easy to forget I am not in a dwarven Kharak. I did not intent to be impolite and we shall continue our conversation in your tongue, Mareike.

You should not plan to burn the town before the fight.

We have seen men fighting valiantly against chaos - I am willing to believe that many in this city will fight against the Skaven, too. If you think that we cannot bring them to see them for what they are, then we will not try - let them fight rat-beastmen, so us and our kin will have fewer of them between us and the rat-nest.

The dwarven community should know about that. The Skaven know that their deceptive ways do not work on us as they do on the humans, and we are more resilient to the pestilence they breed. They might well come upon us with blades while they wait fro the humans to succumb to their plague

We should hurry then! One of those Jævels on a street under the bright sun tells of bad tides to come.

Wait he was left at the hunting lodge? I thought we left with everyone, on the obvious grounds that anyone left behind would die. The beastmen's morale broke but they were not destroyed and the base was breached, there was no way to hold it anymore. We fled before the beastmen could rally. I thought by lodge the townhome in Uberriek(sp?) was meant. For anyone left, at the hunting lodge, they are all dead, abandoned.

That was my understanding, too...

Answering in the dwarven tongue
Even without an oath this would stain my soul. Hadn't we forgotten about Kordren after the battle, we would not need to do the dangerous journey a second time.

Seeing him is important to me nad I would be gracious for the possibility to go back for him. Also, since I know there are dwarves in the city that care about him, we should try to transport him here.

Alas, a sad and shameful story. Something...came up that brought back to my mind what shouldn't have been forgotten in the first place. Vern...you remember the poor Morrslieb struck dwarf at the lodge...to my greatest shame the fight and the hunt for the cultists made me forget about his fate...would you, by any chance know what happened to him?

Judging from the comely setting that this might be something like a 'clandestine' meeting, Rangnir keeps his distance and signals Fernis and Mareike to do the same. As soon as that wreck of a human being is focussing on Franz, Rangnir hopes to catch Vernis attention and signal him to come over.
