The Book of Vile Darkness was the first TTRPG book I ever bought, I had good times and more good times with it. A GM once let me use feats and other things from it on a character, and I've used many of those monsters against my players.

I did a video review of the book on my YT channel if anyone is interested.

What are all your experiences with that book?

Hail! I've been working on a Dark Souls inspired TTRPG to be released completely FREE, March of next year.

However, it's my wish to add some cool illustrations to the PDF to make the book look more appealing and professional.

Here's where you can help, head over to the IndieGoGo campaign and help out however you can, even if it's just to share the link, it would be highly appreciated!

I decided to do something different for this campaign I'm running.

I'm recapping every session in video form and posting to YouTube.

It has been a boon for my players, specially those that can't make it.

Enjoy:

Hail players! A couple of months ago I started a Webshow where I make vlogs about gaming and also review Table Top Role Playing Games.

This month I reviewed a classic. The Red Steel Box Set

That is the first part of the two part review. Please enjoy and leave any constructive criticism you desire.

If you enjoyed, like comment, and subscribe!

Well, I read over the whole Vigilante class and wrote up a couple and ran some mock battle with it.

So I made a video review about the class.

I took the class apart feature by feature and even gave in my two cents about how it could be improved:
Scrap this class completely and turn Dual Personalities into a feat tree

Ever wanted to have some power over rod of wonders? What about deck of many things? Have you ever longed for a thingamajig!?

Well now's your chance! Apply now to The Thingomancer prestige class and make your dreams a reality!

Here's the Warmage Bloodline. A bloodline specialized in martial combat. Enjoy!

There's probably been a myriad of Binder conversions, here's mine!

Anyone else though that this was a super fun class?

Here's a monster I designed a bit ago, basically a young woman that hides a monstrous spider under her back.

Arachne CR 5

Pardon me but, can we post homebrew monsters here as well?

If so, here's a sky shark, a CR 11 flying creature with a shark's head, four claws, and a pincer tail.

So I made a witch archetype that gives the witch a spellbook that eventually gains various innate abilities, like devouring other spellbooks or witch familiars to gain spells.

Let me know what you guys think of The Occult Scholar, and if there's anything that I should change/modify to make it better.

Here's a new class I just designed, loosely inspired on the Dragoon from the Final Fantasy franchise.

The Sephyrus!

After receiving so much wonderful feedback in these forums I have decided to rename my Chevalier class. So I made a poll with various choices! All your help will be greatly appreciated!

Here's a weird one I wrote a draft for a while back, but finally got to write it down today. This warrior is guided by the ghost of an ancient hero, guiding him in combat to deal more damage or to be more evasive

Magister!

Me and my friends toy with the idea of running a game void of magic items that increase damage, saves, ability scores and even attack bonuses.
We're tired of the "Adventurer's Outfit" and that most of the time you NEED a +5 sword and a +5 armor and a +5 cloak of resistance to be able to survive higher level monsters.
And that HAVING to buy those items takes away the opportunity to spend the gold on other things, like keeps, armies, an inn, an apparatus of the crab, etc.
So I created some house rules to be able to play a game like that.
We've playtested them and my friends are very happy with these house rules.

First archetype I have done. This is a weird one, a fighter specialized in alchemical weapons, he doesn't get alchemist bombs or anything like that.
The Alchemical Fighterrelies on making his own alchemical weapons and fights with them. I'm currently playtesting this class in a friend's game, going well for now, though I think I'm taking away proficiency with medium armor and leaving him with light armor.

A friend once told me that he liked the idea of an arcane paladin. So I set out to make one myself. And this one is almost a completely Arcane version of what a paladin is. At least, said so by my friend.
Even the name:
Chevalier
Is thematic because "paladin" come from a french order of knights and so does "chevalier". Alas, another one I have yet to playtest.

Originally I class I designed back in 2011, after many years of writing and re-writing, I made it to be more playable (I think)

The Umbra, is not unlike 3.5's Soulknife, though the Umbra specializes more on stealth and shadows.

I've yet to playtest it though. :(

The Zauberer
Is an alternate class I made a while back. Ever since the Magus came out, I instantly fell in love with it. But I wasn't too hot on the idea of having it being a prepared spellcaster (I prefer spontaneous myself), so I set out to make one.
I ended up creating the Zauberer. Now with the Advance Class Guide out, I dunno how well my Zauberer holds up. But I still like him. Sadly, I haven't been able to playtest him yet.

Here's a quick conversion I made a while back, posted it on my blog, decided to post it here for posterity. Be advised, you NEED the Arcana Evolved book to be able to use the conversion.

Let me know what you guys think.

Hello!

Thinking of a build to make around this weapon (Page 106, Ultimate Equipment)

I'm thinking weapon master fighter.

My question is however! Can the Flame Fountain Firework be enchanted and reloaded, or is it a one time use item?

And, any suggestions that could make the build a bit more fun, would be appreciated.

I'm thinking having Ranged Alchemical weapons as back up weapons.

Hey there! I'm soon to make a Soul Eater for a game.

And I was wondering, some of the "oblivions" emulate spells, the caster level for these Spell-Like Abilities, is it equal to my character's Soul Eater lvl or equal to my character's total level?

Thanks for the help!

Alright, so, I know that in page 153 of the core book, table 6.8 it says that tiny or smaller armor reduces the Armor Bonus it provides to AC by half.

So, if a tiny character is wearing Padded Armor (Normal AC 1)

Would the Armor Bonus to AC for a tiny character wearing it be 0 (rounding down) or minimum 1?

1 person marked this as FAQ candidate.

Even though the book does say "create a dagger of force in his off hand" (UM pp.49)

CAN a magus create two Athames?

In no place does it say that your Athame goes away if you create another one.

And correct me if I'm wrong but with "Pool-sourced athame" a Magus COULD in level 3 potentially get a +5 athame?

Thanks in advance!
