I totally thought she'd try to kill just no matter what we said. Rakish steps out of the brush and joins in the walk home. He looks to his companions and says, Your words and actions bring you honor. You have done well. He walks along with them, the stretchers behind him so he can bring what bodies they could find home for a proper funeral. He also donates the skin of the displacer beasts to the families - so they may be able to keep it or sell it as they need.

How much time has passed during all this? Enough for a short rest? If so, can Rakish use his racial skill at dealing with corpses, combined with survival and outlander to do the following: 1) Make a dragging stretcher to carry the bodies with them. 2) Properly skin the fur of the two displacer beasts so they can be given to the deceased's families (and they either have something to remember the villagers by or can sell it). As the adventure goes on, Rakish will eventually be dragging behind all the villagers who died to bring them back to the village.

Seeing Draco miss, Rakish just slits the beasts throat. I figure the outlander background makes him familiar with quickly putting beasts down. He could even carve up some displacer beast flank steaks for dinner for everyone. :)

Rakish continues to tear into the beast. Hew: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Order of Operations is important here. Because if the enemy loses displacement, and then Shoun grants me advantage, I can actually roll twice and take the better. I'm not just canceling disadvantage. Hey Shoun, is that advantage for just my next attack, or my next turn?

Using bonus action for Second Wind. 1d10 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 He then swings Hew at the beast two handed. Hew: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20

Assisted by Shoun, Rakish tears into the beast. He swings Hew at it, while chomping down with his jaws, grabbing at flesh. Hew: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Bonus action to use Hungry Jaws; if bite attack hits, regain 3 HP.

Rakish whips out his weapons and starts to take off after the beast on Raeva, but pauses when he sees Alysha get dragged off. He turns to go after her, instead. As soon as he gets close, he leaps to the beast and slams his axes down. Hex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Rakish is (surprisingly?) unaffected by the pixie pranks. Flowers on his head? His gear died purple? The warrior lives in a swamp and takes showers only when it rains. Heck, the pixies probably did him a favor; all that shininess wasn't really his normal look. Rakish is the only character I have that keep Wretched as his lifestyle. :)

I'm still wondering how many husbands she had. We're up to three now, right? One husband per module? We must bring caution to the elves. We cannot make them angry. We're on a mission Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

FYI, the imp is invisible. We don't know where it is, exactly. Rakish grunts and turns, conceding the argument. He heads in the direction of the cow field. If the others do not follow, he'll take a seat on the ground, awaiting them.

Dangerous Imps do not sleep in open sight, bellies full of milk, Rakish says, pointing out the half empty milk can. But any Human is quick to kill any with scales without question or thought. We will go. We will save the missing people. We have promised more than one.

Imp slept in barn. Friends with old man. Old man went to the forest. Never came back. Imp brings concern for his friend. Wants us to find the old man. Priest tried to bring death to the imp.

Rakish looks at the priest, and then looks around for the flying critter. To Draco, he says, People say that of my kind as well. All Lizardfolk are evil savages that must be killed on sight. Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 Then he says to the air, Come, bring yourself to me, and we will leave this place in safety. I bring a mission of peace for the Emerald Enclave. This priest does not represent all of us. Diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (10) - 1 = 9 With that, Rakish leaves the barn and let's whatever happens, happen. He heads back to the house. I figure it'll be a moment before I'm with the rest of the group, please let them roleplay out what they found in the house. All this teleporting between buildings with zero time passing is breaking my immersion into the game.

Ok, I've been reading up on the entire thread to re-establish what's going on. Here's the story: Three ten-days ago, the "crazy old man" who lives off of selling his woodcarvings went missing. Two ten-days ago, the village sent a team into the forest to discover what happened. They met with the half-elf ranger who warned them not to go in, but helped them nonetheless. Some time between now and then, the prize cows were slaughtered, and the farmer believes its the faeries who took revenge on the village for the old man and/or team entering the forest. Last night (today?) one of the team made it back via a hanging. He survived, but his mind is practically gone. That gives us four leads: 1) The half-elf ranger. 2) The old barn. 3) The missing cows. 4) The elven forest. We went to talk to the ranger first, and learned that he gave them the note that read, "Don't kill us, were just looking for the crazy old man who went missing." He thinks the team going in pissed off some Jenny girl and that's why he/we were attacked by the scarecrows and walking trees. Next we went to the barn to see what's up with the missing old man. We found a hidden compartment which may hold clues, and we found an intelligent being who obviously is comfortable being seen, and might know what's going on. So it seems our first action here is to try and rob the old man and kill any potential witnesses and leads without question.

Ok, I need some help here. Why are we at the barn? Are we here to slaughter everyone in sight, investigate someone, figure out if someone is missing? What's going on? I was under the impression that we were looking for the missing people. And we went to the half-elf because he was the last known person to see them. Why are we at the barn? Can we get a recap on all the clues we've uncovered so far?

Hi folks. I'm the only player in this AL game. We have to start at level 1, and we need some more players. It's fast pace, likely combat only and very minimal roleplay. Would love for one or two of you to join me. :) I've got a level 1 Tortle Barbarian, with plans to go ancestor barb.

No worries, Draco! Once I get a response from the imp, it'll better help me adjudicate a reaction to what Draco tries to do. Also, be careful, imps are tricky buggers. :)

It's all within the barn, right? Rakish generally leaves things like that to other people. They seem to care more about silver than he ever has. :)

Rakish posts himself outside, awaiting the group. He provides protection and serves as a lookout while the rest talk inside. Those who know him, know this is how he normally acts.

Oh yeah, I knew it would hurt. But it was just so fitting. With scarecrow 2 down, the fear subsides in Rakish, and with it the anger. He takes a breath, and swings at the other Scarecrow with a bit more tactical awareness. Hew: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Lightbringer: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Rakish responds to fear with anger, and as such launches into Scarecrow 2 with full fury. Any OA for this is acceptable. Hew: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

You're right. It is max damage. I must have transcribed it wrong when I wrote I down. Heck, it's even on my log sheet correctly, I just wrote it wrong in my attack stat block.

Rakish roars and charges the scarecrow. As he charges, he drops into a slide, popping up at the last moment slamming his shoulder into the scarecrow. Shove, opposed Athletics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 Shove is my Athletes vs their Athletics OR Acrobatics. If successful, advantage on next attack, and the same for others until it gets up; costs 1/2 movement to stand. After he is back on his feet, he uses his momentum to bring the axe down through the scarecrow straight into the floor. Axe Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 This axe does double damage to plants and trees. Does the scarecrow count? It is made of wood? :) Edit: And oh my that's perfect! If it fails, it explains the Nat 1! :)
