I will try to post up some narrative actions (GOOD idea, thx!) But it is already 11pm, I have not packed yet. AND I want/need to pack car and leave EARLY tomorrow morning. (10.5 hrs of driving time, so a 12 hour trip) :P

One of the advantages of playing a (supposedly) GOTH character, long bouts of silence is not a bad thing. :)

Just FYI, I will be out of town, out of the state, and likely out of my mind for the next week at least. Possibly 2.

Timing stinks for the games in the middle of combat, and I apologize.

BUT, with all going on lately,...
(I will bore you with ALL the details later. Maybe. You KNOW I like to over-share)

,.. suffice to say, between my father-in-law's failing health, my sister-in-law being a royal jerk to her sister (my wife), my mother having onset of sudden health issues, etc etc etc,

I scheduled a week for myself, my wife, and even my hermit-hide-in-his-room son at Universal in Orlando. Because to me, THAT is a vacation.
(My daughter will also be in Orlando, at Disney with her boyfriend's family.) :D

And of course AFTER I booked it, my mother fell again, and ended up in the hospital, and now a therapeutic rehabilitation center so she can get her strength back and walk again.

SO I will probably be running up to see her before the new year as well.
THAT will end up taking the rest of my 2 week break.

And of course I have to be back to work early, on Jan 2, to load in a rental, because of course I do.

So I do NOT plan on having any time, to access the interwebs for almost 2 weeks straight, I will try to check in one more time on Sat before I leave Sunday, but I still have to visit father in law, (2 hours away, so a 4-hour trip just for that) pack, etc.

So, reading the text of the feat, it seems that this spell increases your effective caster level for purposes of a variable spells damage. However, much as if you gained those levels in a normal fashion, they do not give you extra damage. You are just casting your damage-capped fireball at a higher level, just as you would if you gained those levels organically.

So the answer is it makes you reach the levels faster, not intensify the spell. You won’t be able to push past the 15d6 limit with this.

I kind of figured that as well, since the other feats that allow you to bypass or expand the level limits of a spell usually say that specifically in their description.

OK, SO I THOUGHT i had a question about a feat I took.
But re-reading it closer, maybe not?
(Or I know the answer, I just dont like it?) :P

SO I took Spell specialization. (Pre-Req for others coming soon)
The Feat is basically "+2 levels to the variable effects of a chosen spell."

SO, if you're a 5th level caster, casting a 5th level Lightning bolt, that's a 5d6 Lighting bolt.
With Spell Specialization, that's a 7d6 lighting bolt, at 5th level. Cool.

My question is, does this feat allow you to exceed a spells normal level limits?
Example: Standard Fireball maxes out at 10d6. Justin has Two memorized with 'Intensified' Feat, which adds +5 levels to the spells max. 15d6.

Question is: Does Spell Specialization also allow you to exceed a spells level limits, (like Intensified) or does it just help you reach those limits faster?
(IF he didnt have ALL of his other fire pluses, and was only casting , say, 13d6 fireballs, it would let him reach 15d6. But since he is already casting 15d6, will it let him reach 17d6?) O-o

I am perfectly OK with either direction that judgement can fall.
Just getting your interpretation of the rules for clarity.
It will help me decide what to do when he next levels up. :)
(I mean, near-nuclear-fission levels of fireball is awesome. But limits are OK. And there are other tricks I can do too,... soon. ) :D

I JUST recently finished binging the "I Parry Everything" Anime. Where the MC gets blasted forward by his companions spell to cover the distance to the fight faster.
I am looking for a clip to share but having no luck.

I will keep looking. The visual and similarities to what is about to happen is just to entertaining. (To me at least.) :D

As mentioned in the main thread, lock up the unused items back in the vault, take the rest of the day to search through papers for more info, and then (fully rested) tomorrow morning head straight back to tackle the rest of the Hateful 8!

Whether we have to take a break in between battles, or can power straight through the remaining 5 depends on how the battles go I guess. (I am NOT planning or looking forward to entering the final battle with no spell slots left!) :P

Sterling will positive energy bomb the group once safely back and ready to rest, (Holding off til any last-minute random encounters or issues hopefully pass) to make sure everyone is fully healed up before crashing.

Nah, that's what you have kobold for. He already expects traps everywhere because that's what kobolds would do. And having detect undead "on tap" for 2 minutes is effectively always on detection

Honestly, Trying to decide between full defense next spell (putting myself in a force bubble) or trying to Create Pit under the gold leader-dancer.

Complications, goldie is next to Mel! who may fall into said pit, and I'm afraid that dancer-o-doom may be nimble enough not to fall into it. :)

Other choices include Black Tentacles, which have multiple chances of grabbing all within range, but would also put friends in dangers' reach.

(Those two spells have NO SR at least!) :P

Fun fact: Evil dead is now "Evil Dead: The Musical", and combines ED 1 & 2 w/ a smidge of Army of Darkness. THAT I like! Even the songs alone are fun. COmbined with the shenanigans on stage, classic!

(As a trained actor/combatant, I have nothing but respect for a guy who can 'fight' his own hand, and throw HIMSELF around on stage, and make it look convincing!) :D

I think I make a much better player than a GM. I've tried, (when I was younger., I'd probably be much better now. MAybe.) :P

FAr as world-building, I can take ideas and run with them. But it;s the coming up with original ideas that stumps me.

Adaptation? Back-story? I can do those.
When my friends were coming up with a paragraph 'backstory', I was writing 2-3 pages of 'story' about the poor PC! ;)

Come to think of it, it was the same back in College, when in shows. We had to come up with backstories for our characters, based on what was in the script, so that at least WE knew where we were coming from as actors/characters. Others were struggling to come up with a paragraph. I was writing a page. Minimum.
(I did a full page when I was the voice of 'Audrey 2-The Plant' in the musical 'Little Shop of Horrors'.) :D

Yeah, I have been told that i REALLY need to go and watch Stranger Things. I was a teen in the 80's. (Graduated HS in 84) So it should be RIGHT up my Nostalgic alley! :)

This story sounds familiar, I found a supplement to AD&D back in Jr High at a game store, (It was the only D&D thing they had I could afford) I had heard of D&D, But I had NO idea what this supplement was. (Turns out it was basically a random monster/treasure generator,) But I read it all, and was hooked. Got my red box set soon after, and the rest is history!
